How do I turn off smart tags? I am not sure if that is the correct name for them. Everytime I click any button lately, I get a dropdown menu; it is getting very frustrating. I am sure I have clicked on something that activated this, but cannot find what it was and how to change it
I recently ran into a big problem where I had to completely erase every ID3 tag in my library to restore aobut 5% of my library (confusing, I know). This was no big deal because my iTunes XML file contained all song information.
Everytime I click a song to play it, my custom iTunes song tags for that song are replaced with the "updated" ID3 tags. I am losing all of my song information each and every time I play a different song in iTunes.
I've already tried deleting all songs in my library and re-importing using my backed-up XML file, but to no avail. The songs are imported with their correct custom tags, but they change when I go to play the song.
I have recordings made with the Smart Record Lite App. They are on my ipad and ipod. How do I go about transferring them to my iMac so I can upload them to YouTube?
I have never installed Java in Lion, I just don't need it, but I noticed in Safari the tick box for 'enable Java' is still ticked, would turning this off disable prompts to install the JRE, or does it not matter? I find it odd that its listed as enabled in Safari even though Lion does not come with Java installed. Any ideas would be appreciated as reducing any attack vector is always a good move, especially at this time.

My superdrive has given up, with a CD inside it. Took it to apple store who confirmed was broken, but the cost to repair was high, and was advised to purchase a cheap external drive. My problem is that the mac keeps trying to read the CD every so often, and the noise as it "whirrs" is really annoying.Â
how to simply disable the superdrive - I have got the music into iTunes anyway, so don't need the drive?
I have OS X Yosemite on my Imac and now the bookmark bar has popped up, and I can't get rid of it. I can hide it but when I close the window out and open it again it shows up again. I would like to know if there is some way to disable it, or to keep it hid?
I recently and accidentally activated the mobile features to my account here at work. Since then, links to volumes have changed and I'm not sure what else has changed on my account. I was actually trying to setup screen sharing between my personal Macbook and my Work iMac, but failed. disable that feature on my account? Also, why are the Mobile account settings grayed out?
I play a game called Minecraft on the Windows Side of my iMac. I know your going to say, "Why don't you just play on the Mac side?" Well my answer is I livestream using a broadcasting software which is called xSplit, which is Windows only Anyways, the problem is that when I play minecraft with my magic mouse, the slightest movement switches weapons/tools and this is really annoying. How do I disable scrolling on the Windows 7 side of my iMac?
I have been looking around on the internet and can only find software to edit avi tags on Windows...nothing for mac...is there a way to do this on a mac?
I thought that iTunes was supposed to edit id3 tags no? When editing info in the program it does not affect changes to the files themselves, how should I go about fixing this?Another small itunes related matter is that when plugged in it does not register on my desktop (even though I have the option t do so checked off)
Why are tags now showing up as they were before I re-tagged them in Itunes when I open them in other players e.g. VLC ?I'm sure it wasn't like this before? Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a fix or an explanation as to why?I spend ages getting the tags just how I want them which is great for itunes but when I open them in other softare the old tags (how they were before I used itunes to re-tag them) show up instead of the new ones I wanted.

I know there's plenty of lyrics widgets out there, but they all search databases for lyrics. Most are terrible, plenty incomplete and of course lacking in my foreign language songs. But that aside, I don't want ones from the 'net. I want a widget to just display the lyrics I've embedded in the MP3 tags via iTunes. One would think that'd be easier than having something fetch and format something from the Internet, yet I've never found a widget that does what I want. All it needs to do is display the lyrics of the current playing song in iTunes, from the file itself. No frills, nothing fancy. Wouldn't even care if it showed the album art or not. I'd make it myself, but I'm not exactly a programmer.
When I create an event on iPhoto I usually tag the photos...When I export them to a new folder on my desktop or whatever other external support, my tags are not kept but instead replaced by the original name of my picture (i.e IMG_45, etc...) How can I keep the tags on?
I've bought a new computer and I've restored my Data using the migration utility. Even thought both computer were running the same IOS version (10.9.3) Tags does not seem to work on the new computer... How do I make it to work?
I have often been amazed by the speed and accuracy of Searching for Files on my MacBookPro.Â
As powerful as this SEARCH facility is, recently I wanted to search for a file that I knew had a RED tag assigned to it.Â
I couldnt find how to do that, it sounds so simple, but, as far as I can see, it cannot be done !!!Â
I would have thought that it should be easy to do, it is quite an important and useful thing to do, to be able to add coloured TAGS to files, so why can't I search for them, by colour ?Â
Info: OS X Mavericks (10.9), iPhone 5S, wife has iPad2 and my 4S
For a couple of weeks now, when I click on any of my tags, nothing shows up; but my files seem to still have their tag when I go to "my documents". It is the same thing when I click on "all my files": the window is empty.
Does anyone know of a mac application that would allow me to alter metadata tags on audio files outside of iTunes? Basically, I want to be able to alter things like "Album Title" without using iTunes.
I am wanting to index all my 9000+ pictures in spotlight by adding meta tags. IPhoto can add meta tags, but they don't add it into spotlight, which is a problem if I ever move my pictures to a different program besides Iphoto. So what I am looking for is something that updates meta tags that you type in right into the spotlight info box, without having to open up info for each individual photo. Hell, I don't even know if something like this exists.
I have a huge music library, and a lot of the song tags include the song name, artist, and album all in the title of the song. Is there a program to fix this?
