I have several speakers (Logitech) which I had hooked up to my PC with three cables, black, pink, green...the Mac Mini only has one plus for Audio...what do I do to get sound out of these speakers all at once?
View 6 RepliesI have my stereo plugged into the headphone jack but would like the sound to also come from the internal speakers when the stereo is off without unplugging the jack in back.I tried going to the sound control panel but it only lists the headphone jack. Is there a way to do this?
View 1 Replies View Relatedtransition from PC to Mac soon, but now I have my Creative 5.1 sound speaker system (with 3 lines of output, 1 for rears, front+center and the sub-woofer). The iMac only comes with a single optical audio output (Realtek HD?), I wonder if there is any hub-like device or so that allows me to fuse/connect physically the 3 lines in my 5.1 Creative system so that I will have a single line to transmit sound from my iMac to my set of speakers without compromising the 5.1 environment (6 speakers in full working working potential).
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro and something happened to the audio jack recently. Not sure what but I have a 3 year old and pc husband at home. Basically the inside of the jack went from being an inny - where you can plug in an audio plug, to an outie - where you can only insert about half of your plug and it won't go in any further. When I go into Sound settings - Output it says the selected device has no controls, and the speaker icon on my status bar is greyed out. I brought it in and they said they would need to replace the logic board in order to fix the jack - $1,000.... yikes.
So long story short I am wondering if it is just the audio jack then could I buy usb speakers and use those instead? Any work around at all? I wish there were a way to just tell the computer to ignore anything the audio jack was telling it, but I was told that is not an option either.
Is there a way to play audio through the headphone jack and speakers simultaneously on my MacBook?

Currently I have my heaphones jack Line-In routed to my AV Receiver for iTunes music in my room, but whenever I am YouTubing or other stuff while listening to music the System Sounds come out of my Loudspeakers too. I am interested in routing only the iTunes audio through the headphone jack, and everything else to run through my iMac's internal speakers (2007 iMac AL).I saw the SoundFlower thing out there but didn't think that was the ticket
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning, the speakers on my MacBook Pro (Early '09) stopped working, but the machine transmits through the headphone jack just fine. I've done a PRAM reset, and that hasn't fixed it.

ok the other day i opened my mac book and i couldnt listen to my music through my speaks and i tried to turn up the music cuz maybe it was on mute but i got a pic like this (If u cant see it but its the speaker up full volume and the not allowed symbol the circle w/ the line through it) and then i discovered that there is a red light coming out from speaker jack and i could only use my sound through headphones or a jack through other speakers (like a sound system) but no only that i can only hear through the right side of the headphones unless i hold the cord a certain way

There is no sound coming from the macbook, and when I went to check if the volume was up the volume box popped up as usual but with a symbol, similar to a no entry sign. Circle with a cross through it. Then I saw a bright red light from within the audio jack itself. When I plugged in ear phones it works fine but the built in speakers are not working.

There is sound coming if i plug headphones in the jack. Just noticed that there is a red light coming from where the headphone jack is...anyone have any idea how i can get my speakers to work again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust this past weekend after watching a DVD (used the headphone jack to listen) I am no longer able to hear anything out of the speakers. I also now have a red LED light shining through the headphone jack. Under the 'Sound' option in System Preferences, it says "Digital Out" instead of "Internal Speakers". I've called Tech Support and they haven't been able to help me. My next option is sending my laptop back in to them for service. I'd like to see if there if there is somebody out there that has had this same issue before I lose the laptop for atleast a week.

On that one, I added a PCI audio card to connect with some Altec Lansing speakers with Sub-woofer & simulated Surround sound. It sounded great. hat's your suggestion? Get a similar card for the G5?Or get some new speakers that will sound as good?I don't know anything about digital audio out. Does that connect to speakers, or only tuners?

After I pulled out the jack for my speakers the volume icon was greyed out [URL]and soon I realized that internal speakers as such have been disabled from the system [URL]When I restart the startup chime is played as usual.Is it a hardware or software thing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) an Airport Extream Version 6.0 Airport Utility (600.92) That I use with two airport express stations, an Apple TV 2nd Generation with latest software up date. Also have Ipad 3rd Generation and two I phone 4's. Issue: After installing the latest Airport Utility software update I'm unable to connect to my remote speakers in iTunes. The speakers are visible in the pop up menu but iTunes times out when trying to connect. If I use remote to select Apple TV and then via Apple TV select my Computers Library I'm able to play music on the Apple TV / Home Speakers... but still not the Airport Express Stations.
When using remote on the iPhone or iPad the speakers are visible as well but I'm unable to select them... iTunes times out. I can steam music from that is on my iPhone or iPad to each individual speaker, but multiple speaker control is not available and the music from my library is not available. I believe the problem is in the Airplay feature of iTunes and I believe the problems arise when you install the latest version of Airport Utility. You can play on remote speakers, only one at a time, and only if you have the music on a stand alone device (iPhone or iPad)... in summary, bypass iTunes and you can be successful... marginally successful.
I have a stereo hooked up to my iMac and everything sounds great. What I'm wondering is this. Is there a way to have sound come out of BOTH the internal speakers and the headphone/audio out jack?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my iMac yesterday, and its been awesome, but I have one question. The classic "bong" sound at startup, I know that is the result of a successful POST, but mine didn't do one after the 1st startup. I had speakers plugged in to it when I started up the 2nd time, and no sound. I unplugged the speakers, and I got the sound. Is that normal or do I need to contact Apple? I jut want to make sure nothings wrong with my iMac. I checked the POST results in System Profiler and it said Passed.

I'm trying to connect an XLogic speaker system to an IMac desktop. There are only RCA Plugs on the speakers and the 3.5mm plug on the Mac. Can anyone suggest what cable or junction I will need to achieve my goal of connection.

On my pc there was some settings that were the Realtek that had a bunch of audio options that made it sound much better. Is there anything like that for a mac? I can't find anything like that in the apple menu settings.

System Preferences->Sound only shows Digital Out for OUTPUT and Output Volume is maxed and can't be adjusted. Mute is NOT checked.
I've done an SMC and PRAM reset with no change. I've tried multiple times plugging and unplugging the external speaker cable jack.
I thought you should be able to.Play iTunes audio out through USB to a receiver equipt with USB mode as I can with my iPad Air, but I can,t find in preferences on my 2013 iMac any out put and I get no signal to the receiver/amp. Is it possible? What am I doing wrong?

I currently have some good headphones and use the front jack. How do I hook up the three speakers? Do they all plug into one jack in the back? And what about the subwoofer, does it need a special jack.Final question: is there something I could purchase to improve the sound that wouldn't be too expensive? I.e. is there some USB extension or sound jack item that I can buy, which will improve sound performance, and plug the speakers into that?
