I am trying to setup my Blackberry Storm with my new 27" iMac i5. I have installed the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager. When I connect my Blackberry directly to the iMac USB port it says on the Blackberry that this USB port can't charge the blackberry. The iMac never indicates that it recognizes the phone.

I unplugged my charger from the wall after I heard one clash of thunder (really loud, but didn't see lightning, weird). I believe my modem got hit because it no longer works. I tried a different modem and it works fine. Anyway, what is the best option... UPS or surge protector? Or neither? I got tired of waiting for the iPhone to be available on my carrier (TMobile) and was able to get a Blackberry Curve from them for about $100 with a 14 day guarantee to see if I like it. If I don't I get to send it back and cancel the data plan.

The other day I decided to use the Mail program instead of checking my webmail constantly. I LOVE it. It's so much easier. Anyway, ever since then I haven't been receiving my mail on my Blackberry? I get a sporadic email or two but then I come home to 28 emails on my Mac. I don't understand what's going on here. Also, my webmail inbox never retains any mail. It's always empty. I feel like this may be the cause?

The iPad operating system, iPhone OS 3.2, has Google as the default search engine in its Mobile Safari Web browser. Users can go into the system settings and change the default to Yahoo, which carries 1.98 percent of iPad searches.Microsoft's Bing, which has been rumored for months to potentially become the default search engine of the iPhone, was third with 0.27 percent of all iPad searches. Sometimes when i put a disc in the imac it won't recognize it. When it does this I can't eject it or anything. I have to restart the machine. It does this on cdr's, dvd's or install discs. What causes this? Everything else is perfect so I hesitate to take it in.

So, I was wondering if there was some sort of way that I could connect the Blackberry to my Mac/iPod and text using Apple hardware, but transmit through the Blackberry. I don't have enough money to pay for the $100/month iPhone fee, so don't ask. If there is any App/widget/program for Mac or iPod which will allow me to do this, please recommend it to me. I am a die hard Mac user and he will never leave his PC/Blackberry. We're trying to find a program that will sync between the four, allowing us to update transactions while we are on the go. So i decided to do everything through google because I use gmail. I setup a google calendar and google sync on my blackberry. I want to be able to switch between my computer and my blackberry for managing my calendar and task list.
I really like how on the google's calendar the task list shows up on the right. It just so happens I will use the task list primarily to remember things I have to do. Google unfortunately does not sync tasks with my blackberry as far as I can tell.
So what is everyone here using to stay organized on their computers and blackberrys? I am willing to switch and not use the native blackberry app if I have to, but I would like to stay with google's apps. Tasks are my primary concern.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the most recent version of iMac 24" with a partition in the HDD to use Windows with parallels. I'm sure that the hard disk is almost full (about 3/4) but today, all the devices (mouse, printer, mac keyboard, external hard disk) are not recognized in the computer.
I was trying to startup the computer in SAFE MODE but once again, the keyboard is not recognized. I can't do nothing! Inclusive, I am available to apply a FACTORY RESTORE but when the disk 1 is inserted into the computer, I need to hit or double click the icon to run.
I got my new imac running leopard few months ago. I was using my WD 500GB external HDD as my backup disk for time machine etc and was working great till a few days ago. Now,when I connect(with firewire 800)- it does seem to start up but does not appear on the desk top.This happens with the USB connection as well.I first noticed the problem when time machine icon(clock) just kept rotating as if backing up,but it just kept going. this happened several times,so I restarted the imac,plugged/unplugged the WD without any joy. Now it does not even recognise it or appear on the desktop. I have checked all connections etc and all seem ok. I connected the WD to my ibook running 'panther-10.3' and it recognises it(via usb),so I presume the WD is working. The imac recognises another external HDD and appears on the desktop. Not sure what to do next,not really keen on trying a complete new reinstall just yet,and that may not even solve my problem. Otherwise the imac seems to be working all right without the WD connected to it.

If I want to sign in to this message board, I can do so. I can also sign in on my iPad to download updates, purchase new apps and songs, etc. And I can sync my iPad to iTunes on my iMac. But when I open iTunes on my iMac, it asks for my password and I can't sign in. What is causing this problem with iTunes on my iMac repeatedly asking for my password when I open iTunes?Â
This is very frustrating. I am also worried that I won't be able to sync when my new iPad arrives March 16.

My problem is I recently purchased a 1 tb Seagate external hd and the imac recognizes some folders and their contents, like pictures and a couple others but will not recognize the contents of my movies or music folders. Now I copied all of my files from a wd elements 500gig and that worked perfectly with my imac. just can't get to my music or movies. Now, I can plug the seagate back into a windows pc and it works perfectly, so i know my files are there, but love to use my mac exclusively. Also running 10.4.11

The drive was recognised until recently and is still seen by Disk Utility, but won't display a desktop icon to access the contents. I've run Disk Utility many times and it won't fix the problem. I've followed all the steps in the knowledgebase articles. I've tried to use Seagate's diagnostics software, but without success.
