IMac :: 2.4 20" Freezes After Memory Upgrade

I recently got the 2.4 20" iMac. Since a lot of people recommended Crucial for the memory upgrade. I went ahead and ordered 4GB from Crucial. I had my iMac for about 1 week before I put in the new memory. I never noticed it freezes on me at all before I put in the memory. After I put in the memory, it intermittently freezes and there's nothing I can do except hold down the I/O button to turn it off. It would freeze for no reason, but I noticed it freezes often when I used Handbrake to rip a DVD or even when I'm in Numbers doing just usual stuff. Finally today I put back the 1GB that the iMac came with, and so far, Handbrake is going OK. Could the new Crucial memory be bad? Should I call them up and ask for a replacement or return? Has anyone had this problem?

I added some 512 MB DDR2-FB DIMM 667 MHz to my Intel Mac Pro Dual Core - OS 10.4.11. Since the memory upgrade, videos will not stream properly in my web browser. The video begins playing; then freezes; audio continues for a few moments; then audio freezes; then beachball for a few moments; then video plays again; then the same cycle of video interruption begins all over again. It is consistent with YouTube, Vimeo, and basically any video format accessed through my browser.

Currently have 4GB of ram in the iMac.
What would 8GB do with regards to performance within OSX and Win7 64Bit
The iMac is a i3 3.2GHZ
I play SC2 and TF2 in OSX and Win7.

so i'll keep the 2 x 2GB already in the machine and just add another 2 x 2GB sticks for �50
Or am I wasting my money ?

How do I get my imac to recognized the 4G memory upgrade I just inserted (from 2G factory)? It isn't running faster and the "about this mac" still says 2G.

how to obtain a bigger memory for my imac so that I can upgrade to OSX LIon and then to icloud? My imac currently has 1 Gb memory and I need 2 Gb apparently. Apple can no longer supply a 2 Gb memory. I will need to knowe hwre to buy a suitable memory and how to change it.

My mac is up to date with mavericks 10.9.3 but the mail application won't upgrade since when I open it a message appears "upgrading your mail database... this make take a few minutes" but it just freezes. I have tried restarting the app, the mac and I dont know what else to do.

I have waited quite some time until a first update to Yosemite was available.
I have installed Yosemite on both my IMAC and my MBP.Â
Since then, both computers behave similarly.
Even when no actions are performed, the memory fills up hour after hour, this takes a few hours.
Eventually the memory is so full that any operation takes 10 mn to complete, and it becomes impossible to perform any work.
In practice it is best to restart the computers every 4 hours.Â
The problem tasks are:
- Folder Actions Dispatcher
- and to a lower extend "kernel_task".Â

I have a 2010 15" Macbook pro and I was wondering what information do I need to know to be able to upgrade from 4GB - 8GB. I was wondering what is the max memory that I can put on my iBook G4. My G4 (12 inch) has 128 MB DDR SDRAM soldered in place and has a 800 MHz PowerPC G4 Processor. I was wondering what is the most memory I could install and what is recommended? Also I am only running Mac OS X Version 10.4.11. Is it possible for me to update to 10.5 or higher? Sometimes when running videos on google video or youtube it gets choppy and lags what fixes this problem. A message pops up about quicktime not up to date but I try and do a software update and it says that my software is up to date could this be because of the older software?

I have a question concerning memory upgrades on the Mac-Mini 1.83GHz C2D. Some specs state that the 2GBs of DDR2 PC5300 I currently have installed is the maximum memory that the system can handle. There are other sites, though, that state that the system can actually support up to a 4GB kit of the same memory. Has anyone out there had any experience with upgrading to 4GB

Black Macbook 2.4 with 2GB. Trying to upgrade to 4GB but won't start after install. Front light comes on but that is it. Pulled one of the new 2gb and replaced it with one of the old 1GB and it loads fine. Swapped new 2gb with new 2gb and it still works but not when installed together.

I inherited a Mac Pro 1,1 -- first generation. It only has 2gb ram (4 512 MB modules) so I'd like to upgrade it to 10 GB with an 8 gb kit. Per MacTracker the 1st gen MacPro does accept 4GB DDR2 667 FBDIMM modules. I got my hands on an 8 GB kit (2x4GB), but they aren't being read by the MacPro, at all. I made sure I ran all available firmware updates and everything, no dice. System Profiler doesn't see them. Â
I looked at two of the aftermarket modules in it -- they are both Kingston 512 MB DDR2 667 FBDIMM, but they are 1Rx8. The other two are the stock apple memory that is less-than-useless when trying to look at any chip architecture information. The ones I have are 4GB DDR2 667 FBDIMM 4Rx8 modules. I don't mind having to return them for another set of modules. If so, what type should I get?Â
