ICloud :: Sync Moving And Deleting Mail From Inbox Across 2 Macs
May 16, 2012I am trying to get icloud to sync my mail across 2 Macs and an ipad.All three collect mail OK.I can move mail from the inboxes to folders in ICLOUD on one mac and they appear in those folders on the other and the ipad. But they do not dissapear from the inboxes of the other two.This is from the other mac showing mailbox structure and files emails which should not be there.

May 28, 2009I use Apple's Mail program and also my school's webmail (outlook.com) in conjuction to check my school email. However, for some strange reason, my inbox on outlook.com will only hold up to 2 weeks of mail. My inbox in Mail will still be intact, yet for the life of me, I can't figure out why my webmail inbox is disappearing. I've checked every possible setting on outlook.com to no avail. I've also checked Mail's settings, but haven't seen anything as far as deleting older mail. BTW, we're allowed 25 gigs on outlook.com so they shouldn't be deleting them automatically.

Jun 1, 2012I am having problems with icloud syncing my mail immediatly. It used to do this, but no longer does. For example, as soon as I deleted an email on my phone, it would delete off my notebook. Now, I have to delete it from both locations. Same for receiving mail and replies/forwards.

ICloud :: Sync Mac Mail Settings Across Multiple Devices?
Mar 1, 2012So... I used to use MobileMe, and now we have iCloud. :| Grrr.Â
I switched back to Mac Mail after using Gmail for a while... but I have like 10 email accounts, all their own IMAP setups. I just added them all to my desktop Mac last night.Â
I'd like them (and all mail rules, etc) to also show up on my iPhone and my iPad and my Mac Air. This used to be doable with MobileMe.
Is there any way to do this now? Best I can tell, unless I'm missing something, iCloud only syncs the iCloud mail account itself.Â

Mar 25, 2012Recently my Mailbox started prompting me for my password. When I enter it, I get told the MobileMe IMAP server rejects it, so my mac mail is frozen in time when viewed on my MAC. Yet I can log into to my mail via web just fine, my iPhone and iPad have no problem. It seems like this is an issue that occurred recently after I migrated ot iCloud but I cant be sure. I haven't made any other changes or software upgrades and I've been happily using mail for years. How does one resync IMAP passords on the server (if that is what I need to do)?

May 22, 2009I use gmail as my main email account. I have it synched to my iphone (IMAP) and mail.app (IMAP). This was all running smoothly until about a week ago when I turned on my mac and opened mail. It started downloading hundreds of emails.
I looked over them and it seems that all the mails that I have moved to sub folders have been copied to my inbox again and marked as unread.
I have not knowingly changed any settings on my iphone, mac or web based gmail.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mac Mail Loses All Mail In Inbox Except For One Message
Apr 11, 2012One IMAP account is intermittently losing all mail in inbox except for one message. After doing opening program the receive wheel spins for a long time, but at this point there are only 170 emails in the inbox because we moved all the rest to the on my mac inbox to try to solve this porblem. There are two accounts, both from the same provider, but one of them takes a long time to receive new mail.  The wheel spins for a long time - each time it gets mail.Â
Several times after finishing receive cycle, all the mail that was in the inbox disappears, except for one. I was able to get the emails to retrn by going into settings>accounts> and changing a random setting and then changing it back the way it was. All settings appear to be correct and match the other other account that is working correctly.Â

Apr 23, 2012Moved to my new Mac Book Pro from Linux 3 days ago. My first Apple computer.Wonderful machine and OS. Set up my G Mail account on Apple Mail with the wizard and was receiving e mails no problem. Today all of the mail from both my inbox and sent mail disappeared. I did notice that both my incoming mails and sent mails end up accessible in the folder G Mail/All Mail-- the messages from both inbox and sent mail that disappeared from their respective boxes are in there. In reviewing my various mail settings I notice that Apple Mail set the account up as IMAP rather than POP. I also noticed that there was no way to change this i.e. edit the account. I am not that well versed on differences between POP and IMAP. I also tried rebuilding the inbox after I noticed that the contents disappeared and it made no difference. It is essential that I keep copies of everything on my local machine as well as the server.

However, I do not want to restore all the accounts and all the mailboxes, just the one that was lost.Â
How to I find the Inbox for that account, in order to use the older file in Time Machine to restore it with?Â

ICloud :: Inbox And Sent Emails Just Disappeared?
Mar 21, 201245 minutes ago I went to check my mail on my computer and my inbox is empty! There was mail in it an hour ago, and then it just disappeared. I didn't change or move anything, the inbox was just empty. I then checked my sent box and all my sent emails were there, checked back 5 minutes later and their gone! The emails in my deleted and junk folders are still there. I checked online through icloud.com and Inbox and sent mail are empty there too, as well as my phone.Â
I say again, I didn't delete, move or change anything in my mail, it was there and then it was gone. Where did my mail go? I am running a intel Mac Pro tower with Lion 10.7.2 and a iphone 4 with IOS 5.1

Jun 2, 2014Seems when Apple Mail checks for new mail (Mail provider is Google), it does show up in the All Mail folder that Google provides, but the new messages are not showing up in the Apple Mail inbox.
When I check this in the Google mail web client, mail appears as normal. Â
I'm missing messages, so this is something I'd like to figure out what's going on. Â

How can I delete these archives without deleting the copy on gmail? I just want to start fresh on my end, and leave everything save on the server.

Feb 1, 2007First attempt: took copy of "Mail" folder from "Library" folder, and copied it into MacBook's "Library" folder. Opened Mail, and my minor folders (4-5 mail folders with no more than 100 messages each) appeared OK; no sign of my inbox mail (1,300 messages), or sent mail (2,500 messages).
Second attempt: discarded "Mail" folder from above. Ran Apple Backup to restore Mail files. Selected over-write everything option. Same results as above.
