I left my ipad on a plane. And then scheduled an automatic data erase once it was turned on. But because I did that now i can't locate it but the data erase email I got states it was initiated on3/3/12- 2 weeks after I lost it. the history on location only lasts for 24 hours- now how do I locate it
I got an email saying my lost ipad is now displaying a message (weeks after initially writing the message and having it say offline). But it is not showing up on the map. Shouldn't it? It's been less than 24 hours since it says the message was displayed.
I reinstalled my applications from a disk, and have lost iphoto completely. Where I can find it and my library - they still seem to be taking up hard disk space, so I am assuming its a matter of locating them. But they're not in the Applications folder. (I do have back up but not the last two months...which I'd like to get back).
I have lost all my data from my harts drive. The laptop is under warranty. I have been told that they have replaced my hard drive but could not get any data off the old one. I have now lost all my data, photos, files, music etc. NO backups, only simply because i did not know how to do them. Is there any way of getting the files back? All my work spreadsheets and accounts were also lost.
So, I'm trying to recover some lost files. I put it on Data recovery 3. Everything went fine until the power in my house went out, stopping the entire process. NOW when I try to run the process, it just stalls at 33,3%, with no indication of how much time left...
Need some help here. My friend is a DJ and had an external drive with tens of thousands of songs on it. The plug broke on it and I think that corrupted it since Eject was not used. I pulled the 3.5in HDD out of the case and hooked up up with some other external plugs I have.
When I run Data Rescue 3 on it, it shows that it sees almost all of these and the only two formats it counts up are mpeg and mp3s. Data Rescue then finishes the scan and has a bunch of crap files that are not needed, but none of the songs show up. What is going on here? Did I miss something in Data Rescue 3.
The drive is a 1TB drive and the backup drive we are using is 640GB, but there was only about 250GB of music on the drive to begin with.
I'm using the install disk with OS 10.1 to try and erase my old G4 ibook. But the erase and install feature isn't there. And when rebooting and pressing C I still can't get the splash page. Is this the wrong disk. Haven't used this G4 in almost 10 years forgot if this is Tiger or...I've updated the system to 10.4.x
The startup disk on my black plastic MacBook is getting full. I know there is plenty of junk to delete but I don't know how to get an overview of where the junk is so that I can delete chunks of unneccessary data instead of chipping away at my photo library, etc.Â
I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
Every time I try to erase music from my USB Key or Phone.
You can see that the music or files have been erased, but it doesnt free up and space. When you pop the USB Key into the stereo or play music on the phone, all the files are there.
I have to go through the Disk Utility option to erase stuff, but this erases everything. When you erase on the PC, everything is fine.
I would like to pass on my mac mini 2006 to a friend, and need direction in how to remove my data, in other words, take it back to "fresh out of the box" condition.
I can't get Find my iPhone to locate my MBP 7,1, 2.4gHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR3 Ram, 500GB hard drive with Lion 10.7.4. I tried turning off and on iCloud's Find my iPhone and re-installed the 10.7.4 service pack again. Both iCloud.com and the app doesn't locate my MBP.

I have a 700 GB external HD with a 349 GB MacOSX Extended (Journaled) partition, and a 349 GB FAT32 Partition.
I need to shrink the FAT32 partition to make room for another smallish HFS+ partition so that I can back up my virtual machine (around 30 GB). My question is whether resizing the FAT32 partition in Disk Utility will harm the data in either of my existing partitions. I understand Leopard to have an on-the-fly partitioning ability, but I wasn't sure whether this applied only to certain file systems.
I have a mid-2007 20" iMac, 250 GB hard drive, 4 GB memory, and it runs Lion.I understand I will have to reboot the computer with Snow Leopard, since Lion is non-transferrable, but do I do this after I've deauthorized iTunes and done a 35-pass wipe of the hard drive? Also, do you recommend that I add biogradable peanuts to the inside of the box (I have the original) before shipping it, or are the Apple-provided styrofoam bumpers that fit on each corner sufficient? It's going USPS to a military base overseas.
I'm in the process of selling my iMac G5 (I'm getting a new iMac). I've got all my personal data backed up onto an external hard drive. The question I have is regarding my G5 - what's the best way of deleting all my personal data on it? Should I reinstall Tiger using the CD that came with the system and do a complete "Erase and Install", or is there a simpler way?
I screwed up and used the snow leopard instead of using the ms os install disc when trying to erase my personal data to sell my macbook. then after 2 hours realized I used the incorrect disc I stopped it. Know I have a messed up drive a white screen and I have no idea what to do. macbook mid 2007 320 7200rpm hard drive. 2 gb ram
I need deleting my personal info from my EMac but I've lost my original install cd. What are the steps to deleting this info without the cd, or how do I get a copy of the install cd? OBS, eMac (USB 2.0)
My MacBook was stolen so I thought that remote wiping it was a god idea. I didn't realise I would lose the ability to locate it! It has now connected to a WiFi spot and been wiped, but I would really like to locate it so that I can let the police know.
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.1), find my mac, remote wipe, locate

How do I recover the data after erase the Macintosh HD disk and also reinstall the system? My laptop could not be turned on last Wednesday, but I needed to finish up my assignment and submit on Saturday.I searched online a way to keep my data but the laptop could be fix up.
