What if the operating software on my computer is Mac OS X Version 10.6.8, will that work to set up iCloud?? And if not, how do I get the updates I need?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Mac Book is less than one year old and it is already bogging down considerably and operating slowly. The problem began after I inadvertently filled the hard drive to capacity. After noticing that the hard drive was full, I cleaned out half of the space. I cleaned out the downloads, trash, archived large files, and moved misc. information to an external storage device. However, since filling the hard drive my computer takes much longer to reach the login page--usually a minute or more. After logging in the computer takes another minute or longer to fully start up. I have also noticed that the overall performance is more sluggish now. I look forward to your help and comments.

Initially I opted to not save any messages locally, since I prefer keeping my personal correspondence in the cloud and on my private devices. Unfortunately if I choose that option, then no messages are displayed in the inbox or sent folders. I am accustomed to the IMAP way of things, where Mail displays the server contents when online and in offline mode, no messages are displayed because they aren't saved locally. Is this possible with iCloud?

how I can convert my old IMAC from "dial up" to go on the internet as high speed? I have an ISP provider for a more modern computer that I own, but I really would like to use my old IMAC on the internet as well? How can I make it compatible with high speed internet? If I try to go on line, the internal modem "dials up". How can I change that and cause it to communicate with my external high speed modem?

I noticed that my Messages on youtube are instantly deleted when I comment on some peoples Youtube channels. I don't think its the person that owns the youtube channels doing it because it is deleted almost instantly after I log out. It's very odd and I don't think its youtube censoring my comment because I'm not cursing in the comment and I don't believe cursing is against the TOS on Youtube anyways.
Another thing I notice is that when I'm on a flash based chatroom that when someone I am talking to has left the chatroom it will still say they are in the chatroom until I click on my friendlist and than they turn red as if they are gone. It is very odd that I am noticing these strange bugs. However the chatroom thing could be a chatroom problem because it might do that on my Windows side which I never checked because I'm usually on that chatroom on my Mac side.

I lost the ablity to login to my iCloud mail account after April 18, 2012. Not sure of the exact date but mac mail crredentials are no longer being accepted. Deleted the MobilMe account and recreated as an IMAP which is a standard protocol and should work but no luck. All my other IMAP accounts are still running fine. I can't log in from my browers either from my G5 running 10.5.8.

This just started yesterday, I was trying to send an email and computer froze. Only way to quit apps was command tab Q...but computer was still frozen, had to hold power button to restart then happened again several times, It may have to do with hitting return or using the numberic keypad. I've got a Mac Pro1,1 (Mid 2006) with a 7300GT installed. I want to upgrade the card as cheaply as possible. I've looked on Apple Store and according to reviews/comments the ATI HD 5770 will be compatible, but its �199!? The PC version is only �100.
I know you can flash the ATI 4870, but even this is out dated now? And most of the links on the guides here are dead/the stores don't stock them anymore.
Is it possible to buy a PC version ATI HD 5770 and flash it to work with my Mac Pro?
I was looking at the requirements for Spore and saw this Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent My concern is that I pre-ordered this for my wife so that she could take it on her deployment with her and enjoy playing it, but now I am worried that it might be for naught. I have a full backup of the old computer on an external drive and I connected it to recover some of my data. When I tried to open the old Address Book (V 4.0) it told me this version will not work on the new PB. Is there any way to open this or print it out??
Epson Scan.app version 3.8.0 will not open in OSX 10.7.4. I use the scanner Epson Perfection 1640SU. The scanner works with the Image Capture application, but refuses to open the Epson Scan Application. I have tried everything I know to try with no luck.
