May 15, 2012I am now experisenicng the following error message in Mail on my macbook. I am running Lion and it is updated but my icloud emails won't come in.
the following message appears:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on port 993. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct."
I have checked the password and all other settings and they are all correct so I dont know why this is now suddenly happening.

Apr 17, 2012Since this morning I'm unable to receive emails from my iCloud account using Apple Mail on my Macbook Pro. The message is 'Cannot Get Mail, the user name or password for iCloud is incorrect'.When I enter the correct password it will not take and continues to ask me for may password over and over. My user name or password are correct because they work for all other related iCloud services and iTunes, etc. I can't even log in to iCloud Mail via the web to submit an error report

Jun 8, 2012I had an active @mac.com address and made a smooth transition to iCloud some months ago. My iCloud apple identity is my @mac.com address but since Sunday, I cannot send or receive emails with this address, only with my @me.com address. Same for iMac, iPhone and iPad.I have now spent two long phone calls with the apple help number. I then had a fast track on-line conversation with someone today for another hour to have it escalated to a senior advisor. They have tried to sort out the problem unsuccessfully - am sure they will have another go on Monday. In the meanwhile, is there anyone who has had the same problem before? I have tried changing my password on iCloud, deleting and reinstalling my iCloud on my iPhone but nothing has worked.

All I can think is something may have changed on their servers in the UK since it changed to 'googlemail', however, I managed to get a 'gmail' address before the switch.
OS X :: Unable To Open Mailbox When Receive Heavy Mail
Aug 28, 2009I have a problem with my mailbox. I have a Macbook and sometimes when I receive a large email, like more than 1 MB, I stop receiving emails. It seems as if my mailbox is blocked.
In the past, when this happened I would log on to my PC at home and it would download all the emails from my mailbox up to the last email I received on my macbook (the large one that caused the block) and then when I open my mail on my macbook again, I can receive emails again.
Unfortunately I don't have a PC at home anymore to use this method to unblock my mailbox. Does anyone have advice how I can unblock my mailbox on my macbook without having to open my mailbox on another computer?

Jun 23, 2012I am not able to download Mail in iCloud today (June 23, 2012). Down earlier. Backup after 2 hours. Worked for about 6 hours. Then down again now. Went to iCloud on the web. Was able to login but Mail is also not working on the web iCloud. Other apps are okay though.

The server returned the error: The connection to host p03-imap.mail.me.com on port 143 failed.
According to the system status, iCloud Mail did have an issue but apparently they think it's resolved. why I'm still getting an error? I have no problems accessing iCloud Mail on any other devices or through Safari.

I know that in Windows you can use Outlook to receive/request a return receipt when the receiver opens the e-mail. I believe that even using Microsoft Office Entourage '08 would work as well but I really want to stay all Apple applications if at all possible
