IMac :: Headphones Not Showing In System Preferences / Only Showing Internal Speakers
Jun 5, 2010I just plugged headphones into the headphone port on my iMac(dual core 2.4) I went to system preferences, sound, then output and only the internal speakers show up. I rebooted the machine and still, same thing.
I tried the same headphones on the eMac sitting next to it, and it worked just fine. Still confused about the iMac

May 1, 2012I have a 2007 imac and have done all updates that I know of but the transition to icloud is not working very well. Â
1) icloud does not have an icon in system prefernces, it's still mobile me. Although there is a message that states the account has been moved, I cannot sync etc.Â
2) two of my email addresses will not stay connected in mail. Since moving to icloud I have had to reinstall them everyday.Â
3) I host three websites from iweb but since the change to icloud I cannot find my former account where I can access my web domain info that used to be easily found in my mobile me account page. Â

Apr 27, 2012When I click on the iCloud icon in System Preferences window, "Loading iCloud..." is displayed at the top of the window, and the system basically locks up. The color disc is spinning, and I cannot open other applications, force quit anything, or shutdown the system from the menu. I have to physically punch the button, and then restart the system. Â I'm also having a problem with Aperture in which it locks up shortly after it opens, and it is showing "Updating Mobile." I cannot gracefully quit Aperture; I have to Force Quit it from within the Activity Monitor.

Mar 22, 2012I've recently installed Lion and moved to iCloud. I have iCal set up with iCloud and it syncs with my iPad.In the iCloud System Prefs Pane, which I'd not looked at before, I have Calendars ticked, but when I click on Sign Out, I get a message telling me: "If you stop using iCloud for Calendars and Reminders, calendars and reminders stored in iCloud will be removed from this Mac."This seems to me to indicate that the message generator can't see my tick next to Calendars. Or is it that one isn't meant to sign out in this Pref Pane.?

When trying to set up my iCloud acount through system preferences i got an error message saying "You can not login at this time, please try again later." Later, it still didn't work.
