Intel Mac :: Why Is Icluod Not Showing Up In System Preferences
May 1, 2012
I have a 2007 imac and have done all updates that I know of but the transition to icloud is not working very well. Â
1) icloud does not have an icon in system prefernces, it's still mobile me. Although there is a message that states the account has been moved, I cannot sync etc.Â
2) two of my email addresses will not stay connected in mail. Since moving to icloud I have had to reinstall them everyday.Â
3) I host three websites from iweb but since the change to icloud I cannot find my former account where I can access my web domain info that used to be easily found in my mobile me account page. Â
I just plugged headphones into the headphone port on my iMac(dual core 2.4) I went to system preferences, sound, then output and only the internal speakers show up. I rebooted the machine and still, same thing.
I tried the same headphones on the eMac sitting next to it, and it worked just fine. Still confused about the iMac
I just bought a new Apple Magic Trackpad and after playing with it at the store I went into the settings to set a few things however when I got mine home and installed/paired it with the Bluetooth, I'm not showing any settings in my System Preferences for the Trackpad.
I've selected Recent Items in Finder Prefs to show 15 apps, documents etc., and it rarely shows more than 2 documents. And those 2 tend to be older files, not what I've been working on that day. I'm on Yosemite on an iMac.
System Preferences (or Finder) in OSX 10.6.8 appears corrupted - mouse will not activate any commands within any preference, close Finder windows (or open apps with a double click as it used to). No joy rebooting or resetting PRAM and NVRAM.Â
Preferences within another user account on the same iMac however appear to be working OK.Â
When I click on system preferences then screen saver the timer starts and I can never do anything. The timer goes and goes and never stops. Have to shut the system down and re-boot. No desktop photo. How to fix.
I have a problem with the system preferences. When I open any preference it receives the following message: "You can not open the Dock preferences, because the panel does not work on computers with a PowerPC processor." Except that I do not have Power PC, but Intel!
What can I do to be able to change preferences?Â
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Processor Intel Core i5
Can't open System Preferences - tried repair permissions with disk utility - no luck. In fact can't find System Preferences in the Applications list - only in the apple drop down from the desktop.Â
Find or reinstalling the systems preferences as well as the settings icon is lost. both were put in to the trash and trash has since been emptied . Is there any way of getting them back with out loseing eveything on my mac
My system preferences will not open and I get code 1712 with the message that it is unable to open. No new software was installed prior to this happening. Tried shutdown, unplug but still not opening.
I've tried everything have redownloaded drivers, no luck, when I go into 'print and scan' panel and select add priner, no printers appear in the list... I noticed that I have an Epson printer RX690 icon in my techtool pro rescued items folder ? this is the epson printerproxy? but can't put this away and don't know where is would go and if this would make a difference.
My HP photosmart printer has stopped responding. The pinwheel comes up and freezes the computer when ever I try and access the printer, or anything to do with the printer. I have also tried going in through system preferences and the I cannot even access it. The pinwheel again pops up. I have not added any software lately. I have tried to update my software both for the Mac and the printer. There are no updates available. I am using Mac 10.5.8?
I bought a new iMac in November 2013 which has a wireless keyboard and mouse, which worked well but won't connect since OS was updated. I've looked in System Preferences and there is no symbol for Blutooth. In System Report / Blutooth it says 'No Information Found'. It's strange because the keyboard and mouse worked fine up to downloading and installing the update (to OSX 10.9.3.)Â How I can get the Blutooth up and running again?
Every time I try to access my users & groups it crashes my system prefs. I can't get to them at all to change anything. Similarly, trying to adjust parental controls for one of my kids crashes system prefs - it seems they are related... 10.7 Intel iMac.
My system preferences is not responding, I have tried to restart the computer and even shut down. When I access system preferences it still stuck in the place where it originally froze. What to do?
This weird, but today's software update deleted all but 2 of my screen resolution options in the display section of system preferences. The 2 remaining options are not ideal for my iMac. how I might restore the options that were lost?
