ICloud :: Lost ICal Entries Following Registration?
Jul 5, 2012
I installed Lion on my iMac and on the next day registered for iCloud. Immediately all data in iCal disappeared. Calendar was empty in iCloud also. Have tried to recover data through Time Machine, but unsuccessful.
How the blazes do you you get rid of MULTIPLE entries in ical? I have read many answers and printed off a few to follow them but invariably i get to a point where I am unable to take the next step! I back track and and unable to find a fault of where I went wrong!! Then I have to ask myself WHY? Why on earth am I having to go to such extreme lengths to get rid of the unwanted entries?Come on now Apple it is you who should be providing the simple logic answer to this?I decided to give up? just ignore the other entries it easier than going frantic trying (and anyway I am frightened I may throw the macbook in my temper)
I have an ipad and a Mac for work and use icloud to sync ical. What is infuriating is that the ipad is only retaining details for the preceding month and wiping anything before that. Why is it happening and how do I stop it?
Have no idea why this has happened, but basically I have been syncing using itunes manually via a cable, got the email from Apple to upgrade, went through the process, now its all on icloud, but I have noticed I have dupliate ical entries.
I went to my calendar (iCal) on my MacBook Air and all my appointments were gone! All that is displayed are all my Facebook friends' birthdays. I went to System Prefs > iCloud and saw that Calendar was unchecked. I checked it and it tried to sync for 30 seconds and then failed. The box was automatically unchecked. I tried this repeatedly. The calendar on my iPhone, which is also synced to my iCloud account looks fine. What happened to my calendar on my laptop and how do I get them back?
I have an iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and a Mac running OSX 10.7.3. I have recently noticed a problem that while ical entries made on the Mac will synch to all devices, ical entries made on the iPhone or iPad won't synch to the Mac. I have tried the troubleshooting tips on the apple site, including turning off icloud on the mac for calendars, but it still doesn't work. It essentially means I cant trust my Mac calendar to be up-to-date.
With iCloud, there are double entries when looking at All Contacts, and so things Contact details like event have double entries on iCal too. Since all Contacts are made on iCloud now, Should all Contacts be deleted from My Mac?
I bought my Quicktime 4 years ago, so no app store. Haven't used it for quite sime time, but got a text file saved with the key, but can't find email with purchase confirmation. I tried all posible name combinations (my Apple ID, name and surname and vice versa, my login). Nothing fits, I get invalid registration. Is there any kind of support that can help me? Cause I want it badly now...
I am giving a computer to a friend and he wants to keep a lot of my preferences, music, installed free software etc so I don't want to reinstall os x. However I would like to empty iCal of my entries for the past few years. I can't find anyway to do this other than individually deleting the entries which would take forever. Is there a way anyone knows for mass deleting iCal entries or restoring 'factory defaults'?
Deciding on whether or not to use iCal or my Google Calendar. I like the look and feel of the ical overall, but it seems nice that the google calendar will sync over the air with my phone.
Ever since Icloud, everytime I enter an event it doubles, or triples the event. This occurs even with all but one of the calendar types checked. I would love to just delete those other types of calendar because I dont need 5 types of calendars. Things were working great until Icloud dammit Steve lol
my issue is that I am going to icloud.com (on my macbook pro) and inputting my appointments on the calander. When I put them on there it shows the correct time I've scheduled and all that. I look on my calendar on my iphone and sure enough all of my appointments are on there but....they are all scheduled for 3 hours later than they should be. For example, I schedule a client for a 2 pm appointment on icloud...It shows up on my iphone calendar that the client's appointment is at 5pm. I went back and looked at Icloud and all the appointments were still set for the correct time on there.. So I go and try to put in all of the correct times on my Iphone, i save them, take a look 5 minutes later and they are all back to being 3 hours off. What is going on here?!? By the way I'm running Mac OS x Version 10.6.8
After syncing with iCloud (three computers and a phone) suddenly I am seeing multiple entries for the same contact in the address book and multiple entries in the calendars for the same event. How to stop this and how to delete the multiple entries without having to manually delete each item? The new Address book does noit seem to have a list view that shows the entire address book 9only shows addresses with two or three alphabets. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening? The value of iCloud is lessened when these issues crop up and there seems to be no defined method to fix the problem. I see numerous entries on the Support Community boards with the same problem.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2), iMac Core Duo and MacBook Air Lion
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either. I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
New entries in the Address Book on my MacBook Pro do not show up on my iPhone and iPad. Changes to existing contacts do! Who understands what's going on and what to do to remedy this?
When I opened my reading list this morning and added an entry I got a very weird list - multiple redundant entires that seem to replace the other entries I had. Checked on my reading list on my iPhone - just like it should be.
I have Entourage 2008 and have since long enabled the sync feature to sync with ical and address book. I use Entourage mainly as sync engine and do my daily work in the standard MAC applications (mail, adressbook, ical).
Since a couple of days I noticed that events did not sync between Entourage and ical. I tried to disable and enable the sync option i Entourage to get it working again. Nothing happened.
I have tried to recreate lost ical using time mashine but without succes. I get the folowing message" iCal can neither be change nor be deleted because the item is required by Mac OS X.
I have lost all my address book and iCal content on my MacBook Pro. How do I restore from my iPhone? I tried synchronising my iPhone to the MacPro but then lost all the content on the iPhone. I managed to get it back using the restore. This means the only content I have for Address Book and iCal sits on my iPhone!
Since migrating over to iCloud, my iCal entries aren't syncing with my iPhone. I'm getting a message saying - The calendar [url].. was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.
I have a second MBP that I am syncing to iCloud and when after the initial calendar download from the iCloud server, it won't allow any changes or updates and gives me the following message: "iCal can't log in to you iCloud acount because your password may be incorrect. The server did not reognize..."
On my Mac and in iCloud, I can only add Reminders to two Calendar types, Home and Sarah. I'd like to add other reminders for calendars labeled Work, for example. However, I can only choose to reclassify Reminders in the other Calendar types that have Reminders- so only Home and Sarah. Do I have to do something in iCloud for me to gain this ability?Â
