ICloud :: Remove Duplicate Calendar Entries In ITunes?
May 14, 2012
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either. I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
After syncing with iCloud (three computers and a phone) suddenly I am seeing multiple entries for the same contact in the address book and multiple entries in the calendars for the same event. How to stop this and how to delete the multiple entries without having to manually delete each item? The new Address book does noit seem to have a list view that shows the entire address book 9only shows addresses with two or three alphabets. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening? The value of iCloud is lessened when these issues crop up and there seems to be no defined method to fix the problem. I see numerous entries on the Support Community boards with the same problem.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2), iMac Core Duo and MacBook Air Lion
I've activated icloud and its caused problems with my calenders. if i stop it will i loose all my calender events. Its duplicated and removed some for my mobile devices.
Have no idea why this has happened, but basically I have been syncing using itunes manually via a cable, got the email from Apple to upgrade, went through the process, now its all on icloud, but I have noticed I have dupliate ical entries.
Ever since Icloud, everytime I enter an event it doubles, or triples the event. This occurs even with all but one of the calendar types checked. I would love to just delete those other types of calendar because I dont need 5 types of calendars. Things were working great until Icloud dammit Steve lol
I noticed that I had duplicate cards in Contacts and events in Calendar. Looking at Preferences / Accounts I saw that I was somehow logged into iCloud twice as it was listed twice in the left column. I checked the iCloud settings and couldn't see anything untoward. I've un-enabled one of the iCloud accounts which has solved the problem from a useage point of view, but the duplicated iCloud account is still visible.Possible things that caused the issue:
1) I signed out of iCloud on my work machine and back in again a day later earlier this week
2) I edited my email address on the 'Me' card in contacts as my work email was misspeltÂ
Apparently I allowed iCloud to delete all of my calendar and reminder information from my Mac.Can I restore it from iCloud, if not can I restore it from Time Machine?
If I press "command" "A" and than "command" "delete", will it erase only the duplicates and keep the one original file? Or will this delete the duplicate and the song I wish to keep?
I created a bit of a mess with iTunes 11 while migrating from Windows to Mac OS. Somehow I have duplicate subscriptions in the "My Podcasts" view. When I look at them, they don't have proper icons and the subscript setting is turned off (i.e. unsubscribed ). The listing that has an icon and has an episode count is working fine. Also, The duplicate subscription entries do not appear in the "list" podcast view. I tried using "Edit->delete" from the iTunes menu to delete them, but nothing happens.Â
Is there a way to get rid of these duplicate entries?Â
I have tried Onyx, CleanMyMac, clearing LaunchServices.plist and loads of other things (too many to list) but when I right click on any file, I get the same entries repeated in the open with menu. i.e. Right Click an .avi and get Open With-> VLC, Quicktime, Other... Vlc, Quicktime, Other... VLC, Quicktime, Other...
I use Google's Google Play and I made the mistake of Downloading my Library from the Google play Music Manager in my (early 2011) MacBook Pro's System Preferences after I already had my music library in iTunes so now I have a duplicate of every single song and not sure how to delete them. I tried using the the advice offered on here where I sort all music based on DATE but every song has the same date and about the same time so that won't work for me. Other then downloading a paid program I'm not sure what my options here are. That being said, let me know if anyone know what options other then paying for a program to do this for me or worse... having me click on every single duplicate song individually until I finish?Â
When I add a new entry to my mac calendar it automatically sets 2 reminders, 30min before via notification and 30min before via mail. I don't want these settings, so every time I add a new entry I have to manually delete both reminders. That is really annoying if you create 20+ entries every day...Â
I've recently changed service provider for my exchange (now using 2010 on PC and and outlook for Mac2011). I had been using 2003 and my iphone synched fine and also updated the server when I deleted emails. Now I have several issues. When I upgrade the software on my iphone it duplicates contacts and some calendar appointments. Also whilst emails I delete on my Macbook air update the server, my iphone isn't updated and also if I delete things on my iphone they don't delete on either machine. (This use to be fine on earlier software and before I had the Macbook). My iphone wants me to update to iOS 5.1.1 but both of the last times I've updated the software it duplicates appointments and deletes a whole load of contacts off the server. Am wondering whether it's because despite settings changing it is holding history of the old account.
Deciding on whether or not to use iCal or my Google Calendar. I like the look and feel of the ical overall, but it seems nice that the google calendar will sync over the air with my phone.
Previously, I have had no troble removing obsolete enteries from Previous Recipients in Mail.Of, course I also remove these enteries from my Address Book. Now, when I hit the "Remove From List" button, the entry disappears, but it reappears the next time I check the Previous Recipients List. I simply cannot get rid of obosete entries.
How the blazes do you you get rid of MULTIPLE entries in ical? I have read many answers and printed off a few to follow them but invariably i get to a point where I am unable to take the next step! I back track and and unable to find a fault of where I went wrong!! Then I have to ask myself WHY? Why on earth am I having to go to such extreme lengths to get rid of the unwanted entries?Come on now Apple it is you who should be providing the simple logic answer to this?I decided to give up? just ignore the other entries it easier than going frantic trying (and anyway I am frightened I may throw the macbook in my temper)
I have an ipad and a Mac for work and use icloud to sync ical. What is infuriating is that the ipad is only retaining details for the preceding month and wiping anything before that. Why is it happening and how do I stop it?
my issue is that I am going to icloud.com (on my macbook pro) and inputting my appointments on the calander. When I put them on there it shows the correct time I've scheduled and all that. I look on my calendar on my iphone and sure enough all of my appointments are on there but....they are all scheduled for 3 hours later than they should be. For example, I schedule a client for a 2 pm appointment on icloud...It shows up on my iphone calendar that the client's appointment is at 5pm. I went back and looked at Icloud and all the appointments were still set for the correct time on there.. So I go and try to put in all of the correct times on my Iphone, i save them, take a look 5 minutes later and they are all back to being 3 hours off. What is going on here?!? By the way I'm running Mac OS x Version 10.6.8
I installed Lion on my iMac and on the next day registered for iCloud. Immediately all data in iCal disappeared. Calendar was empty in iCloud also. Have tried to recover data through Time Machine, but unsuccessful.
I went to my calendar (iCal) on my MacBook Air and all my appointments were gone! All that is displayed are all my Facebook friends' birthdays. I went to System Prefs > iCloud and saw that Calendar was unchecked. I checked it and it tried to sync for 30 seconds and then failed. The box was automatically unchecked. I tried this repeatedly. The calendar on my iPhone, which is also synced to my iCloud account looks fine. What happened to my calendar on my laptop and how do I get them back?
