I got my macbook pro stolen yesterday, and my first reaction was to lock it on Icloud. I didn't read the instructions before doing so but now that I read them I noticed that by locking it I won't be able to find it or wipe it. How do I unlock it?

In my User & Groups, it shows that a System Administrator with standard access is the current user for my iMac.A "System Administrator" is using an iCloud password to log in and unlock the screen. I cannot delete the user, nor change their password.I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1I purchased the iMac from a school closing auction.I know little of apple computers - be gentle.

I use a MacbookPro 2.4 intel duo core - Latest Snow Leopard - 2 gig ram. No trauma in it's life - never been dropped. I have a fair knowledge of computers but by no means am I a techie. Up until now my MBP has been running fine ( no strange behavior or noises etc. ). It now wont start. It refused to wake up from sleep last night. I've pulled the battery, used pwoer adapter etc. In a normal startup - there is a brief whirr sound, followed by the startup chime. My MBP makes the whirr, but thats it - no chime and no further activety. The the screen is blank, there is no keyboard lights, there is no sound if pressing the volume key. - I have tried: - Zapping Pram - Starting it up as a target drive - Plugging in an external drive to start from that -- the drives green LED lit up so assume there's USB power - and the LED will turn red ( but only once so I assume there is no 'conversation' ). - Tried a forced restart using - Cntrl - Power button. This gets me to the initial whirr again but no further. i have NOT yet tried to reset the PMU - how do you do this? Anything else it could be? Anything else I could try? I need it back asap for work - my last resort is to pull the hard drive and try to use it as an external drive to access my info - but I'd like to exhaust all tests before I do that.

Safari and Mail are the only items that I have set to launch on signing in. I have removed extra fonts and languages also turned magnification off to speed things up, but its mainly the start up thats just a bit slower than usual.

(It's not the first time, the computer has already been fixed for a similar problem and it then didn't accept any DVD, even for playing). For the moment he can read. So I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and used Migration Assistant to transfer my files. I realized after that I should have transfered right at the beginning when I had the chance for Setup Assistant, because I have a lot of files that require permission from my other user account on my old MacBook. I went to Disk Utilities, and there were two options to "Erase Free Space", some Toshiba thing and Macintosh HD (I am assuming was the hard drive that was transferred). I pushed "Erase Free Space" and closed down disk utility, but it looks like it didn't delete my hard drive because all the applications and files are still there. I am now reinstalling OS X Lion hoping it will bring me back to that first screen where it askes if i want to transfer from another computer. Am I doing this right? I feel like I'm gonna mess something up and i've already wasted 5 hours already trying to fix my primary mistake of using Migration.Â

In trying to add up to a wireless network at home (with a PC and a laptop Windows XP) I switched to "start from network" on System Preferences. On reboot, shows image of file with a ? or flashes a world clip. Usual command+S or C, Alt, attempt to reboot from CD fail. Before attempting anything else I don't want to lose my documents. When reboot with Alt, the padlock with space for password appears. I didn't set a password when I installed OS.

I have a 500GB g-drive that I use with my macbook Pro(running Leopard O/S, current version). Because I just about maxed out the hard drive on the mac, most of my Aperture photo libraries reside on the g-drive, in a volume labeled "Aperture Photos." Something very weird happened a couple days ago that really spooked me. The G drive is configured in 4 volumes, and upon ejecting one of the volumes from the Finder window (by dragging it to the Trash which normally doubles as an Eject mechanism) my volume disappeared without the usual prompt that says something like: do you want to eject all So here I am, looking at my Finder screen, and 3 out of 4 of the G drive volumes remain listed in my Devices list, but the one with the photos on it is gone. With fear in my belly, I looked in the trash, and it looks like the contents of the entire volume ended up in there!!! So panic mode set it what do I do?!? How do I restore it? Whats weird is that the missing volume and its icon shows up on the desktop, but not in Finder, making it all but useless.
