My OS X eMac cannot support iCloud, but I want to continue using my mac.com email address. With the changeover today, I'm not able to access my emails, because I don't know how. (It seems I can send emails, but I don't know if they're being received.)

I also have a macbookpro with access to the same e-mail account which DOES accept my password. All this has happened since I upgraded to iCloud and frankly I am at a loss.

-160GB Hitachi Deskstar ATA/IDE hard drive, 7K160 I think (I know that only 60gb will be visible)
-6x Tray loding DVD drive. I think its from the first gen iMac
-PC100 168 pin ram (I think its pc100 otherwise it might be pc133)

I've had my MobileMe account since 2003. Had my three Macs since my first G4 and added to them as I could afford.I also have an iPhone 3G. All have access to my MobileMe.
I also have my website on MobileMe. Can I ask, what happens, as I got a warning to switch, as my MobileMe will end soon, if I can't have Lion on my computers?My 11 years of connection to MobileMe will all be lost?

So Apple want's to force off Mobile Me users and is directing us to use iCloud. Yet the main feature that I specifically purchased Mobile Me for was the syncing capabilities of keychains, preferences, etc. So that if I install a new OS from scratch or buy new hardware, installation is much easier. I've used this feature several times and it has made my investment into Mobile Me worth every penny. Also I truly enjoyed the full sharing capabilities of the Photo Gallery which iCloud is considerably watering down.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just switched to OS X Lion, in the hope of using iCloud with iWork apps.I have the latest Pages version ('09) and after spending two hours reading forums, I have just understood that:
1/ I cannot save docs to iCloud without buying the iOS app on one of my mobile devices.
2/ I will have to wait for the next Pages release, for iCloud support on OS X.
3/ Using a $2000 Apple laptop only enables to view docs created by iPad or iPhone devices.
I just wanted to save my Pages doc to iCloud, in order to have it ready on my Mac at the office on Monday.I sometimes wonder whether Apple is joking or not.In addition to this, the item "Trying iWork" is grayed, thus no way to try to push that damned doc to iCloud.I cannot believe there is such a poor iCloud support on OS X Lion.

Now comes along Mountain Lion.I'm not sure I will upgrade to it, due to the problems I've had with Lion.I have an iPad coming in about two weeks and I'm hoping I can use this to access all my iCloud data. View 14 Replies View Related45 minutes ago I went to check my mail on my computer and my inbox is empty! There was mail in it an hour ago, and then it just disappeared. I didn't change or move anything, the inbox was just empty. I then checked my sent box and all my sent emails were there, checked back 5 minutes later and their gone! The emails in my deleted and junk folders are still there. I checked online through icloud.com and Inbox and sent mail are empty there too, as well as my phone.
I say again, I didn't delete, move or change anything in my mail, it was there and then it was gone. Where did my mail go? I am running a intel Mac Pro tower with Lion 10.7.2 and a iphone 4 with IOS 5.1
Why am I getting so many random emails through icloud from people I have never heard of. Its as if someone else has the exact same email as me. what is happenning?

How do you set it up to where if you delete emails off your Mail app on your Mac it will also delete that same emails off your iCloud account?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am now experisenicng the following error message in Mail on my macbook. I am running Lion and it is updated but my icloud emails won't come in.
the following message appears:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on port 993. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct."
I have checked the password and all other settings and they are all correct so I dont know why this is now suddenly happening.
