Can you post your Windows Experience Rating here along with the specs of your Mac?

I have installed 7 using bootcamp. When I try and rate the system, I get the error:
This system does not have the necessary multi-media support to run the requested assessment.
I have a 2009 MBP 13" 2.53ghz
I have a mid 2010 MacPro 12 2.66 Ghz cpu system with 48 GB of ram. I was running Windows 7 32 bit on my Apple SSD drive, but thought that it would be interesting to see the performance difference if I installed Windows 7 64 bit. Due to SSD space limitations Windows 7 64 bit was installed on an internal hard disk rather than the SSD drive. Here are the results:
Windows 7 32 bit on Apple SSD TS512B configured with
2 GB of RAM
8 CPUs
Enable Adaptive Hypervisor checked
Processor 7.7
Memory 4.5
Graphics 6.0
Gaming 6.0
Hard disk 6.9
overall 4.5 (lowest score).
Windows 7 64 bit on Hitachi 2 TB drive HDS722020ALA330 configured with
8 GB of RAM
8 CPUs
Enable Adaptive Hypervisor checked
Processor 7.8
Memory 7.9
Graphics 6.0
Gaming 6.0
Hard disk 7.9
overall 6.0
I was surprised by the increase in memory speed, and even more so by the hard disk improvement - even though on a physical disk rather than an SSD. In two cases (memory and hard disk) it hits the maximum performance number possible of 7.9.
I'm interested in the 'Windows Experience Index' on your Macs in either Vista or Windows7? I'd especially be interested in the index results for a Macbook Pro 13" 2.53GHz as I have just ordered one!?

Just tried Camp Tune - Paragon's software for on the fly resizing of bootcamp partition. I just did it and it worked like a charm.... no backup this and that and reinstall... nothing. Downloaded the file, burned the disk, boot with the disk and press resize (see instructions on the site).

Two questions. First: I've used Quickbooks Pro for Windows using Parallels BUT I really dislike Windows AND Quickbooks. The only other solutions I've seen are MYOB. Does anyone have any experience or options?
Second: I'm launching a business with the majority of sales being online. I've used X-Cart extensively, and while it's powerful it could be better. I don't to spend the coin on something custom just yet, however I know X-Cart developers will create custom add-ons to X-Cart. Are there any BETTER alternatives to X-Cart Gold? Does anyone have any extensive experience with ecommerce software?
hi! i'm planning to install windows 7 64-bit in my mbp, problem is i looked at the requirements needed and it stated that i needed boot camp update 3.1. i checked my boot camp version and it stated that i had 3.0.1, tried using software update, but states that i had no updates available. what should i do? and what else do i have to keep in mind while installing windows using boot camp. thanks in advance!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used the bootcamp assistant to create a 200 GB partition for Windows. I installled windows 7 x64 on this partition, everything is going well so far. I'm able to press the option key after installation and run windows and perform some updates (note, I couldn't install the required software IN windows from the snow leopard disk, let's hope this is not the source of my problem).
Everything went well so I booted back to OSX and I noticed that I needed some more partitions, so I've split my Macintosh HD further into a Media and a School partition. I didn't touch the windows partition though.
After experiencing (before) with hackintosh computers I know that i have to rewrite the boot configuration of the harddrive. Because now I'm not seeing the Windows HD anymore while holding the option key at startup and therefore unable to boot into Windows anymore. Even parallels can't discover the Windows partition.
I've tried repairing permissions, and nothing. I've tried to use the repair option on the Windows 7 disk which states it can't be done.
What can I do? Do I have to repartition it again in an different order (bootcamp states that it can only create a Windows partition if there's only 1 partition in the harddrive, so it's logical to repartition the drive after bootcamp created the Windows HD or even after the installation of Windows itself). Perhaps I need to rewrite the boot config of the mac, which I don't have a clue about.
Being 64 bit windows is not an issue, because it worked at first (before repartitioning)
I seem to be rather confused after reading so many websites which say its possible to install windows 7 upgrade over xp by custom install in bootcamp.
I purchased a windows 7 upgrade which I have downloaded as a ".img" file.
However, bootcamp doesnt recognize my .img disc.
I have tried converting the .img to a .iso, and then burning the .iso as a iso disc, but still no luck. (Im not sure if its because of Active iso software Im using to burn the discs or if im doing something wrong.)
I have a legit version of XP already running via bootcamp.
I have no clue what my friend did, apparently downloaded windows 7 and installed it on his mac somehow and now all it does is boot in windows..
I haven't looked at it yet and he's bringing it around tonight.
I told him to hold the "option" key on start up and he says the only option he has is windows..
Has anyone heard of this before?
i have no sound on the windows partition of my macbook. i need to burn the CD through the setup assistant (i think) but when i open it i get this
i already tried erasing it and reinstalling XP. is there another way to get the drivers i need?
I just downloaded, burnt and installed the new windows 7 RC, x64, on my alu 24" iMac. Maybe I should have just taken the 32 bit version as it has only 2 gigs of ram, but I don't feel like wasting more time and another dvd on getting the 32 bit one. The problem is, everything went smoothly, partitioning, installing etc., but when I insert the OSX installer (1) dvd (10.5.4), it says that the 64bit version is not supported by boot camp. Apparently others have had this issue, but no one seems to care to write down there workaround anywhere. I read that using the vista 64 driver set works (also read it doesn't), so I downloaded it from the official Apple site. When I try to open it, it asks me if I want to allow the programme to make changes to my pc, I click yes, and nothing happens.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows 7 on my macbook pro 13 (early 2009). I can't find a driver update for the 9400M.
Would you guys have a link I can d/l one from?
I just got my first Mac and I am trying to integrate it into my home network with a number of Windows PCs. I have turned on sharing on the Mac and on all of the PCs.
The Mac finds the router and connects to the internet with no problem. The PCs all find the Mac and can access the shared folders.
However, the Mac does not find any of the PCs, and no shared resources show up in the Finder Sidebar.
Now I know windows has its problems, but....
I used the boot camp manager to make a windows partition, and I made it 80GB. Then I restarted the computer and the XP installer opened. When I select where to install XP, the only option is a 130GB Disc. Leopard is 150GB and XP is 80GB, so where did it find this drive? Disk Utility clearly shows 2 partitions, nothing else. I didn't select it obviously because I don't want to screw up Leopard, but what should I do? Should I just bring it to the Apple store and have them do it for me?
