I was wondering if there are any certain types of anti-theft locks for the iMac which I can securely lock onto furniture out there?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this is probably an age-old question but I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the internet. Are there any real threats out there for my Mac OS X or is installing an anti-virus just a wiste of time, money and memory? Should I be concerned about passing on viruses through e-mail or USB stick to my colleagues or friends who use Windows? If so, which anti-virus should I use? Is there any real competition between anti-viruses out there?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince Mac is not prone to virus as it is known, is it safe not to install anti-virus software? I merely surf "normal site", download things if needed, receieve email with attachment. BTW, if those email attachment has virus, will Mac auto prompt and auto delete without any anti-virus program.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know I had one at some point since my world of warcraft account was hacked using one. I've since quit the game and removed all WOW content from my computer but I have no idea where the keylogger originated.. I can assume it was within the wow folder in some addon i carelessly added but I cannot be entirely sure so I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of the best way to ensure that other passwords of mine will not be compromised.

is there a must have or a best anti virus for macs?
I'm a Windows user, recently forced to use the Mac because of work. I bought a Mac mini.
Anywhoo, very basic question - do Mac users generally use anti-virus software?
I used Mac through most of the 90s (again, because of my job) and my workplace didn't use it then. I've also been using Linux for the past 10 years and have never used anti-virus software on it either, and never had any problems.
On Windows I use K7 Antivirus.
i was browsing using safari on my MBA and this anti virus opo came out quite frequent even i already set my block pop up windows. can anyway advice me how to get rid of it? its quite distracting anyway.

I'm not writing this to simply stir-up the fan boys, I'm saying it because SL is the final straw for me - I've had enough!I did a clean erase and install of Leopard, took some notes then installed SL. my boot time went UP from 25.5 secs to 34 secs and im not sure that I gained any disk space (I know it's now calculating it differently).
As a casual user I can't see any improvements in speed or useability, Mail still takes ages to shut down and iphoto has already crashed twice. Add this to the fact that this year I've also bought a MBP with a glossy screen that I didn't want (but had no choice) and after not upgrading to the iPhone 3G so I could wait for the 'next big thing' they bring out the 3GS (yawn) meaning I'll have essentially the same phone for at least 4 yrs. And the iPods due out - what's their big new feature? A camera. Wow. Where is Apple's innovative flair? I'm so, so disappointed in everything Apple over the last year - I don't hold much hope for the tablet.
I have been getting notifications from my Server (Telus) that I have a virus - is this possible and do I need to get antivirus software now ?My system is OS X 10.6.8
