View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought my MBP this past summer and dont know much about it. Every time i try to stream videos rather it be on a "tube-site" or not they "buffer" or are interrupted because of slow loading. I have already emptied the cache and reset safari a number of time and it dosnt help. This issue seems to be getting worse with time, as when i first got it it was fine of course.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHey guys, i got an old Powerbook that the whole family use to surf the net. I notice its been super slow lately. Ive never had a problem with this notebook, I've only done 2 reinstall in the time ive owned it. I recentluy did another one, and notice its still slow, loading websites is slow, cant watch movies on it. This is a notebook i use to do photoshop and illustrator work on.
Do you think its just its time? I think it could be the hard drive or memory, is there any type of diagnostic i can do to find out what the problem is?
Is there a way to tell which one is slow, if anything is going slow? I have an extremely old PC which is normally ok for most things, but gets bogged down if I am doing too many things.I was so annoyed with our national real estate site after they changed the format that I wrote a letter once a long time ago.. and I was ready to let them have it again, listing all the reasons why it is so bad and so much worse than the original.
Today for the first time, I accessed the site (mls.ca) using my new iMac. It was like lightening speed, comparatively speaking.Wow, suddenly I knew why the mls people hadn't changed their new format. But then I started going to other sites.. like airmiles.ca for example, and it was slow as heck... and stalling.. etc.
How would I be able to tell whether it is an internet slowness or the computer being slow?
I tried updating it and all, i've also tried repairing the disk but it still crash when i go to youtube. firefox does it as well. i tried downloading google chrom but unfortunately it's not compatible with 10.4. the following is the report in safari crash.

Lately I've been having a lot of trouble watching flash videos.
I've tried emptying the cache, resetting Safari, repairing permissions, restarting my MBP and rebooting the router. Nothing works.
Basically, the videos play when they feel like it.
I press play and nothing happens. Videos just do not load.
Having an issue with Safari loading youtube videos. When a video is buffering Safari becomes very choppy or unresponsive until the video is fully loaded. Only Safari slows down no lag in the os or an excessive amount of CPU usage. Tested in Firefox to make sure it wasn't my internet connection and the video loaded and played fine without any hiccups. I updated my flash player and Safari to 5.1.5 just to see if that would solve anything and tried clearing the cache.

Safari crashes pretty much all the time now. Usually when loading embedded youtube videos or going to a pimped myspace page. It crashes at least 5 times a day and is getting old?

Over the past two or three weeks, my Safari has bogged down. It will load most Web pages just fine, but YouTube, Google and Facebook just won't launch. I managed to use it to download Firefox and it's working great. Safari is still a no-go.

Since I've upgraded to Safari 5.1.5 YouTube videos take forever to load, or never load at all.I do not see this problem in Chrome or Firefox.I've tried deleting my Flash Cookies (read online that it could help), but it hasn't changed anything.Anyone have ideas as to what's preventing YouTube videos from loading quickly as they have done in the past?I like Safari, and hope to continue using it; but at the moment it's simply unusable for my needs.

About a week ago my Mac started loading webpages very slowly (CNN would take over 5 minutes to load). I have downloaded and occasionally use Firefox and it had the same problem.
I checked my internet connection and everything seems fine, my other computer (its a PC) is connecting just fine and loading webpages at the usual speeds.
I found online some instructions regarding Safari loading webpages slow they involved deleting the cache, and then deleting a few .plist files in the library. This seems to work, but with a day or so the problem comes back. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
After upgrading to 5.1.4, safari is very slowin loading pages or it doesn't load at all.On the other hand, Chrome is fast as usual.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've recently brought a mac book never had one before. In the month I've had it page loading is really slow i have done the required updates, and nothing has been downloaded. I have tried some of the things people have suggested, cache delete, history delete, etc but nothing has worked.

I have an infuriating problem with extremely slow loading of extracts on the British Newspaper Archive site and something must have happened to cause it. I have a Macbook Air, was on Snow Leopard, the site always worked fine. When I came back to the site after a few months, the pages took 2 minutes or more to load. However on the similar Australian site, Trove, there is no problem. BNA say no one else has the problem. It happens on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera. I have even had an upgrade to Mountain Lion - the problem continued. I copied everything to a Passport and had the laptop cleared out and upgraded to 10.9.1. The site then worked, but as soon as I migrated my stuff back from Passport, the problem returned. I’ve tried disabling Sophos, had removed Ghostery.

the rest of my internet is running at about 280k.
the problem started about 3 days ago, and i have tested it at various times day and night.
(i am using safari on leopard 10.5.3, and get the same issue on a mac running tiger)
I just purchased my Mid 2010 21.5" IMac a few days ago. Before it used to load pretty fast but yesterday I noticed it began to load slowly after a blackout. its taking about 30 seconds or more to boot up after a shut down and when I first turn it on, I hear a chyme and after the chyme. I am at a white screen for quite a while before I see the apple symbol. Is this normal??
View 4 Replies View Relatedjust purchased right before he left (Febuary). His computer is now giving him troubles with programs taking ages to load. He said that one program took about 3 hours to load completely. What/any advice can I give him to resolve this issue? He has the warrenty package but since I'm in Alaska, shipping costs are expensive and we'd like to avoid them as much as possible.

I have been using my 13" MBP since the 7th of August and since the first day the internet has been slow and it won't load pictures half the time! It will load a little blue question mark instead of the picture! I have three other apple computers and a netbook on wireless (not all at the same time, just to check internet speeds) and they all work perfectly so it isn't the router and it isn't 10.5.8 because I have not installed it!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI love firefox, but it is so slow. Slow in everything, loading, typing, posting. I finally went to Safari which is better but I love firefox and hate to give it up. I have done searches, it appears to be a problem, but most of the fixes are either over my head or for a pc. My computer is not the fastest but Firefox is unbearable. View 11 Replies View Relatedit seems for me that Safari 4 is very slow at loading content. Most of the time, i am on broadband, but when i go over my limit, i get shaped to a much slower speed. (Typical Australia ISP!)
I noticed that while Safari loads a page, on the bottom toolbar, it says....
Loading "Website" completed # of #.
for example, on "ninemsn.com.au" it can take me quite a while for the page to load, as Safari does not load the content until ALL or most of the content has been downloaded.
is there a way/plugin for safari 4 to load content AS SOON as its been downloaded? I would like to see my pages load immediately as soon as the content has been loaded.
ately i had an issue which i cannot resolve here. My APE seems to be the main cause to slow my internet in loading pages up. My speed with the check from ISP, it is great. However, I realize that my ping time is kinda high? What should I do to bring my internet back to smooth loading up?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust started about a week ago. Any opinions on "clean my mac" by macpaw? Is it worth it to get this? If not how can I get the old speed back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running a 2x3.2 quad core g5 with 12 gigs of ram, but lately, my browser speeds have plummeted. Regardless of browser (default is firefox, but it also happens in chrome and safari), my pages are loading extremely slowly. However, the web browser(s) seems to be the only part of the internet that's lagging. World of Warcraft ping is almost always around 30ms, even a time zone away. And my speed tests verify that everything is fine - 5/6 megs down, and .5-.6 megs up.
what would be slowing my browser down? Funny thing is the only site that loads as it should is a google search through the toolbar of firefox. Any other bookmarked site takes 3-5 seconds at the very least...sometimes up to 10-15+ seconds.
i have tried resetting safari, emptying the cache, deleting emails, deleting history it will run OK when first logged on anf after about 5 mins starts to load the pages slowly.
