View 6 RepliesI have a macbook pro and have recently noticed that when initially loading any of, google chrome, firefox or safari it takes a very long time for the internet to load the webpages.
It says that there is a full wireless connection but will not load the webpage.
Once the webpage has finally loaded after about a minute, subsequent browsing is as fast as can be expected upon my broadband connection, loading pages in <1s.
However the problem reappears whenever I open a new window, or anything else that might use the internet such as the app store, itunes or apple software update.Â

Is there a way to tell which one is slow, if anything is going slow? I have an extremely old PC which is normally ok for most things, but gets bogged down if I am doing too many things.I was so annoyed with our national real estate site after they changed the format that I wrote a letter once a long time ago.. and I was ready to let them have it again, listing all the reasons why it is so bad and so much worse than the original.
Today for the first time, I accessed the site (mls.ca) using my new iMac. It was like lightening speed, comparatively speaking.Wow, suddenly I knew why the mls people hadn't changed their new format. But then I started going to other sites.. like airmiles.ca for example, and it was slow as heck... and stalling.. etc.
How would I be able to tell whether it is an internet slowness or the computer being slow?
I have been using my 13" MBP since the 7th of August and since the first day the internet has been slow and it won't load pictures half the time! It will load a little blue question mark instead of the picture! I have three other apple computers and a netbook on wireless (not all at the same time, just to check internet speeds) and they all work perfectly so it isn't the router and it isn't 10.5.8 because I have not installed it!
View 5 Replies View Relatedately i had an issue which i cannot resolve here. My APE seems to be the main cause to slow my internet in loading pages up. My speed with the check from ISP, it is great. However, I realize that my ping time is kinda high? What should I do to bring my internet back to smooth loading up?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I purchased my Macbook Pro over 3 months ago, watching videos has been very slow. It doesn't freeze, it just takes a really long time to load any video from youtube or any other website. Â
My internet speed is fine as I have another laptop (Toshiba running on windows vista) and video loading is really quick and don't have to wait for a video to completely load as it is already fast. So is the problem the Macbook or internet connection?Â
My Toshiba laptop is wirelessly connected to the internet though (Connected using ethernet cable). However, the macbook is wirelessly connected.Â

Why is my Mac so slow to load internet pages? My iPad is much faster!

Since a month or 2 my internet, safari & firefox are slow. I tried lots of stuff, dns, had some helpfull youtube turtorial tips, but still I dealing with the same problem. When internet is loading a new, never visited, website or a youtube video it keeps loading until I click the airport button. When I click the airport button the site is loaded straight away and internet is real fast. Thing is, I just keep on clicking.

View 14 Replies View Relatedit seems for me that Safari 4 is very slow at loading content. Most of the time, i am on broadband, but when i go over my limit, i get shaped to a much slower speed. (Typical Australia ISP!)
I noticed that while Safari loads a page, on the bottom toolbar, it says....
Loading "Website" completed # of #.
for example, on "ninemsn.com.au" it can take me quite a while for the page to load, as Safari does not load the content until ALL or most of the content has been downloaded.
is there a way/plugin for safari 4 to load content AS SOON as its been downloaded? I would like to see my pages load immediately as soon as the content has been loaded.
This problem has just krept up in the last couple of days on my MacPro. A page will load about halfway then just stall and when it finally loads it is in text with no images.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought my MBP this past summer and dont know much about it. Every time i try to stream videos rather it be on a "tube-site" or not they "buffer" or are interrupted because of slow loading. I have already emptied the cache and reset safari a number of time and it dosnt help. This issue seems to be getting worse with time, as when i first got it it was fine of course.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently changed from an AT&T DSL modem to a Knology Cable Modem to improve speed and overall network capablity. However, ever since I have changed I have had problems with Safary lagging or not loading the websites. It doesn't do it all the time, but periodically.Sometimes it is worse than others.
Basic issue: When using Safari, it stalls when loading a website. Sometimes it will load, other times it will say that Safari cannot load the website. If you wait a while and retry loading it, it may then load it.

Ever since I updated to the latest version of Safari, it has been very slow loading webpages and is also a great memory hog. I have been using Firefox (now) and don't have these problems, but I would prefer to use Safari if it will work.

I've been having a problem with Safari for the past few months it frequently freezes when loading web pages, sometimes it will eventually load, other times it wont. the blue progress bar in the address bar stops on about 10% with a plain white page it doesn't happen all the time but disturbingly it happens on pages as simple as Google search, not just data heavy sites. other symptoms include having to click links several times to get them to respond and I get the you are not connected to the Internet page when I go to some sites only to try another page from my bookmarks and it will load perfectly.

Certain pages, sometimes, won't load and the error would be that I'm not connected to the internet. When I actually am. I keep encountering problems with Safari. Is it normal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Snow Leopard (SL). I have noticed a painfully slow access to sites when using Firefox and Safari. Pages used to load almost instantaneous with Leopard. Now when using either Firefox or Safari on SL, It's taking an average of 8-10 seconds to load a page in my web browser. Feels like I'm on dialup. I have the fastest internet service you can get (Roadrunner Turbo Plus), but for some unknown reason my internet page access is painfully slow. I'm really thinking of using Time Machine to set my Mac back to Leopard, but I really don't want too. I figured I'd wait a few days to see if this problem surfaces, and perhaps a solution can be found.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, Safari has been acting extremely slow and loading webpages weird. For example, when I went to MacRumors, I get this half-ass loaded version (see picture).
I have to reload it several times to get it to function correctly. I tried resetting Safari and emptying the cache but those did nothing.
Noticed that Safari is running slow and sticking during the loading process. Also iTunes is freezing mid-song. Is there a bug or have I finally gotten a virus?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a home office. Using three Macs (two wired, one wireless), and 2 PC laptops (wired). Also have VMWare Fusion with Windows Vista loaded on the Mac. All the PC internet connections (including VMWare) internet works fine and decent/good speed. The Mac is painfully slow, using both Safari and Firefox. Currently I cannot even access some websites, such as Google which comes back as unable to access. I tried OpenDNS - no change. Tried turning of IPv6 - no change.

I've had my MBP for about a year and recently I noticed that when I open Safari or Firefox it takes FOREVER to load a page.Even a small page like Google! I tried a reset for both browsers but that didn't help.I did some maintenance but no help there either.
This is my first Mac so I wanted to ask if I'm missing something.. should I be doing something maintenance-like that I'm not?
Hey guys, i got an old Powerbook that the whole family use to surf the net. I notice its been super slow lately. Ive never had a problem with this notebook, I've only done 2 reinstall in the time ive owned it. I recentluy did another one, and notice its still slow, loading websites is slow, cant watch movies on it. This is a notebook i use to do photoshop and illustrator work on.
Do you think its just its time? I think it could be the hard drive or memory, is there any type of diagnostic i can do to find out what the problem is?
I have an iMac model identifier 9.1, with Mac OS X v10.5.8 and safari version 5.0.6. All programs are running normally (fast) except safari. When I try to load webpages it takes about 11 seconds to fully load. All other computers in my house are connected to the same internet and running fine. What do I do to make the loading faster?

I am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.
