Jun 4, 2009I have 4 tabs open in Safari, each one has a Youtube video loading in HD and its really loading slowly, taking forever. Is this normal? its a MacBook 2.4GHz Unibody that I just got a few weeks ago. just checked iStat memory shows wired 173mb active 1.04gb inactive 292mb free 330mb.

Apr 26, 2012Since I've upgraded to Safari 5.1.5 YouTube videos take forever to load, or never load at all.I do not see this problem in Chrome or Firefox.I've tried deleting my Flash Cookies (read online that it could help), but it hasn't changed anything.Anyone have ideas as to what's preventing YouTube videos from loading quickly as they have done in the past?I like Safari, and hope to continue using it; but at the moment it's simply unusable for my needs.

Jul 28, 2008heres the problem, anything on youtubes site or embedded is extremely slow to load, i mean about 10 minutes for a 1 minute video.
the rest of my internet is running at about 280k.
the problem started about 3 days ago, and i have tested it at various times day and night.
(i am using safari on leopard 10.5.3, and get the same issue on a mac running tiger)

Safari :: Why Does YouTube Video Load So Slow
Jun 25, 2012When I go to YouTube to look at any video with Safari ( 5.1.7 ) on my iMac the video never loads up correctly. I try to pause the video to let it load up but the video won't pause right away. Then I get the spinning beach ball. The video will not play until the entire page is loaded and the video has to be loaded before it will play correctly. This has been going on for at least four or five months. Now if I use Firefox ( 4.0 ) there is no problem at all. I don't want to use Safari for everything and then use Firefox just to look at YouTube.

My Ipod Touch has no problems with the same videos on Youtube.

Every time i try to stream videos rather it be on a "tube-site" or not they "buffer" or are interrupted because of slow loading. I have already emptied the cache and reset safari a number of time and it dosnt help. This issue seems to be getting worse with time, as when i first got it it was fine of course.

Sep 21, 2010I thought I fixed it with a wireless-n router and it worked perfectly till now. I was loading videos on youtube in seconds with no buffering and fully loaded, and could stream even 1080hd videos on there and other sites no problem. Now the MBP is going slow again, like there's this lag when browsing, and I can't even watch youtube videos anymore unless their 240p as anything else buffers every couple of seconds.
It's not the internet, as like I've said before I have an pc in another room across the condo on the wireless network and its blazing fast browsing and watching/streaming videos. I've seen other post about this lately and really leading me to believe these $ MBP just suck on wireless networks, b/c I can be right next to my router and no changes... and my girlfriends cheap netbook can stream videos faster with no buffering then my expensive piece of aluminum.
I saw someone else say enter this for DNS and I had already done that, so is something screwed up here?:

Get the dreaded " This video is currently unavailable" tag.The video played fine before the Safari 5.1.7 update, and plays fine on my Air and on my iPod.No other updates or software changes - only the Safari update. So the Safari upgrade broke the part where the browser identifies itself to YouTube so I get the HTML feed instead of Flash?No Flash loaded on this iMac, ever.
