I had inserted a CD when I was trying to download some songs onto an MP3Player and I'm unable to get it out of the slot. I've ejected it but nothing has come out and I can't use the drive until I get the CD out.
I would like to set up a mac pro using Slots 1 & 2 for RME ADAT digital audio cards and move the graphics card (geforce GT 120 512mb) to slot 3 or 4 so that I can maximize slot speeds for multiple audio playback via logic. Is this possible?
I am getting a new Macbook Pro in a week, with exactly the same specs of my current one. Can I swap out my old HD and put it in the NEW one? Will everything be exactly the same?
My Mac Pro 2009 does not recognize 4gb memory in slots 7 and 8.All the slots are full with the same memory. So it recognizes 24gb. instead of the 32gb. I tried swapping, but without result. The memory strips looks fine.

The SD card slot is only available on the 13 inch MBA. I'm just wondering if anyone has used it yet?I have an SD card in my digital camera but I'm not a huge picture taker so I haven't used it. I'm thinking of getting a 32GB SD card for extra storage to slide in there.
I have a new Mac Pro coming tomorrow. My current PowerMac is dead, so I'm planning on doing the Migration Assistant by putting in my old Drive into the new Mac Pro. The question I have is: Is it worth putting in my old Superdrive into the 2nd slot? Even it is not the newer 16x speed?
No security slot is standing between me and an mba. Is there a solution short of a bicycle lock? Will they rectify this next version? I always cable lock my pro in a coffee shop. As Kissinger said, even paranoids have real thieves waiting to snatch their laptops.
i'm having alot of problems since i got this mac pro and the first problem is fan sound:

second problem which is now the ram slot 2 (The Lower) isn't working properly, every time i run the computer it gives me that gray screen and tells me to keep holding the power button, but when i removed the ram slot 2 it works properly with only the upper slot ram, and to check the problem source, i switched between the upper and lower, and it worked properly but with out adding the upper slot in the lower space, so i knew that the problem now is 100% from the logic board.... right or is there an another way?
Rite now im trying to install my gtx 280 in my mac pro 1 but it will not fit in the first pcie slot. I know its pretty easy to get it in on the 2nd slot, but im just wondering if it will work? Or do all graphics cards have to be on the first slot? I read here that you can either put it in the first or second. So Im just making sure.
I already took the stock 7300 out of the 1st slot though.
i was expecting a totally new box look for the Mac Pro but unfortunately they only changed the RAM slot and keep the same 2006 look. I was ready to purchase a Mac Pro only if they change the look & design but it seems that i will have to wait for another year till that to happen
I called apple today to ask about upgrade to 8GB RAM. They told me that the MBP i7 has 4 slots and since I already have 4 GB I only need to buy 2x2Gb only. I don't know if this is correct??
I just got a G5 power mac (dual 2.3GHz) and bought one of these: [URL] as an airport substitute. When trying to install the card it doesn't appear to fit in the PCI slot. Am I right in thinking it should fit? Since it's a PCI card and the G5 has PCI/PCI-X inputs?
I have a G-RAID drive and I want to try editing faster through the eSata slot. I know they have adapters that work for Macbooks Pro, but is it the same for my iMac? Can I use it through the SD? And if yes, any recommendation on which model/bran to buy?
So i finally figured out what has been causing all of my kernel panics. Either the brackets or the notches that are holding the second ram stick in place have become faulty. The second ram stick permanently stays in the upright position, and if i do manage to get it parallel to everything, it can jump up at a moments notice if I do something with my computer. This is clearly a manufacturer's defect, but i dont have any warranty left. So i was wondering if any of you guys know where i can get a new ram slot since it doesnt seem to be like it is soldered to the logic board. I had 4gb, now im running on one 2gb stick, and basically the computer is nearly unusable in its current state.

I just got my macbook pro on monday and today when plugging in my keyboard and mouse into the 1st USB I notice it's not working. I plug them into the 2nd and it works fine.
Is this going to be a hardware issue? I'm sort of gutted, I thought I had a perfect one and now I find something isn't working as it should be.
Granted I have no clue if the previous generation MBAs had a lock slot, but I've noticed the new ones don't seem to have a lock slot any where on them, is this true ? or is it well hidden that it doesn't show up on all the pics I've seen. I'm specifically talking about the 13" Air.
I just installed 8 gigs of ram on my mid 2009 13 inch macbook pro. OSX recognized the ram as soon as I rebooted but the windows partition still says 4 gigabytes. Am I forgetting something or is windows just... being windows.
