Is it possible for me to have deleted the original trash box from the left hand column of the mail page? And that is why these email message cannot be delelted?
I have been given all kinds of sites to go to in hopes of correcting this problem but none of them has been the one that works to correct it for me I have over 45,000 messages that I need to get rid of and I just can't figure out how to get them to move to the trash file or folder and it doesn't work.

I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.

I deleted my private folder. It's still in the trash, and it's also in my applications folder if that makes a difference. I turned off my mac and now I can't boot it back up. I can boot into single user mode and tried entering some codes in there but I keep getting errors. I have a new Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard, and I have the install disk but I can't get the computer to start up with it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAn error occurred while moving messages to mailbox “Trash — (Folder)”. Leopard/Lion ... who cares. I've always been able to set up my corporate Exchange email account using OSX Mail application. However, I have NEVER been able to delete messages from my InBox. Is this just a set up issue I am unaware of or is this a long-standing bug Apple refuses to fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI moved the files from my external hard drive from the back up files made by Time Machine into the trash, as I've always done. This time I get an error message (error code 8003) and am not allowed to move the files back onto the drive or out of the trash, even after changing the permissions. I've searched the support forum for error code 8003, but find nothing that relates to back up files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was using a program which opened my console and then I noticed in my console had messages referring to a couple of programs I removed a long time ago by dragging them to the Trash. It seems to be reporting thousands of messages every minute for one of the programs with the message "User or app not found." recurring.
This must be using resources, is there any way to stop this?
After I delete my message, it goes to the trash. I have changed the preference to go to the new folder and not automatically delete the messages after 30 days, but they are not working. My messages are gone after 2 weeks and not in any folder.

Using Leopard and Mail.
Under Trash I have 'POP Account' and 'On My Mac'
When I select a message and press delete I get a warning saying:
The message ... could not be moved to the mailbox Deleted Messages POP Account
The destination mailbox Deleted Messages POP Account does not allow messages to be moved to it.
I can drag a message to the 'On My Mac' folder and select delete and this removes the email - but seems wrong.

I have been cleaning up my Gmail account through the web browser the past couple of days, I have over 6000 messages spanning 8+ years (I know, that's terrible). When I delete or archive a message in Gmail web browser one one computer, and then go back to my main computer where I use Mail, it still shows over 7000+ emails and doesn't seem to be syncing (or deleting) the messages I have done on the web browser side. It is set up with IMAP and syncs new messages fine. It even deletes new messages that come in and are deleted, just not these old ones.
Do I need to delete the account on my Mac and recreate it? If so, should I also delete all mail contents in the Library Mail folder?

I have an iMAC...version 10.5.8 serial no. *********
recently I have been trying to delete files and I'm getting a variation of messages. Either it tells me that the "file is in use" when its NOT or it will delete the file immediately, bypassing the trash.
I would like the files to go to the trash first like they always use to rather than being deleted immediately.
Also it tells me i can't delete alot of files because they are in use. However, they are not in use or open at all...
How can I correct this? Is this a disk problem?
Running Mac OS9.2.2 Suddenly start to get and error message "There is not enough RAM" when trying to save an attachment in Microsoft Outlook. Same thing with Adobe Photoshop - when trying to save an EPS file. During several freezes, suddenly my mac stop recognize any extensions. When used Microsoft Outlook and tried download an attachment got an error message type 3. So I create a new set in extensions manager and get ride of Type 3 error, but get a new error message "Not enough memory" when try to save an attachment, or "Not enough RAM" - when try to save an EPS file in Adobe Photoshop.

Just Archived & Installed about 2 hours ago, and everything looks fine so far. No installation problems (though I was food shopping and by the time I came back things were fine).
However, the first weird quirk I found was that when I attempt to delete one of my inbox messages in Mail, it won't let me delete. I get this error message:
"The message "(e-mail subject name)" could not be moved to the mailbox "Deleted Messages - AOL Mail. The IMAP command "UID COPY" (to Deleted Messages) failed for the mailbox "INBOX" with server error: UID COPY failed Deleted Messages: no such mailbox."
For some reason Mail won't delete my sent messages - deleting them just changes the subject / sender line colour from black to grey but they don't go anywhere.

After deleting a message the already read message above becomes selected instead of the unread message below. How do I change this? I have changed the sort by field to assending and decending. I looked at my husbands mail and it does not do this. I do not see any preference options to fix it.To recap, I want to start at the top of my new messages and if I want to keep a message I will go to the next unread one and delete that one without the one I want to keep becomeing the targeted message
