I installed a program to my gertie and when my mac os x restarted the mouse is in the top left corner and neither my mouse or my keyboard work. Before I installed it everything had worked fine for several years

last night my imac semi froze on me. it's weird because I can still use my BT keyboard and mouse but when i try to click on anything it doesn't work. now the dashboard and expose functions work as well as do keyboard shortcuts but when i try to click on any icon nothing responds. it's like everything on the computer seems to be working except for clicking.

Have new snow leopard to install, put disk in and it pops up on desktop, however just like anything else I cannot click or open it. I have unplugged, restarted, used command-option-escape( which does bring up "Force quit" box, but again I cannot click open or select anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHaving a VERY strange issue with my new 27" iMac. I've tried installing XP twice now and everything works fine through the installation and after XP boot initially without any Apple drivers. Keyboard (wired) and my Magic Mouse work just fine.
Then I install the Apple drivers and after a restart XP does not recognize and keyboard/mouse. Even if I hook up a standard USB windows keyboard and wired mouse, nothing. Booting into Mac OS everything works fine, but nothing in XP, including safe mode.

(3 times)Opening up my server on the internet and deleting the offensive message "mailer daemon"Turning off the computer again.Â
So...as soon as I open mail, the grey "message" is open. I can click on the Mail Viewer window and have that come forward, but all is frozen.Just did it again and it hasn't changed. Had to force quit again. Never before in 8 years of using the Mail application (different computers). The rainbow wheel of death spins and spins.Â

I have a 15" 2.53 GhZ Macbook pro with 4 GB Ram. I am using Onyx for cleaning disk permissions as well as flushing the cache and other maintenance because I heard great things about it. The most recent time that I used it I Restarted my macbook and the mouse was frozen and I couldn't move it, even after like 5 minutes. So I did a hard restart and everything started up just fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 2007 2.2Ghz "Santa Rosa" MBP, which I've had quite the problems with for the past 3 (soon to be 4) years. Just starting this week, if I'm on Safari or iChat for instance, Mac OS X freezes and everything stops... yet the mouse cursor can still move. Very soon, the screen starts flashing black and white over the frozen screen (with Safari, iChat, or whatever still open and visible behind the intense flickering). This flickering only goes on for a few seconds though; but the system remains frozen, requiring a manual shut-down and reboot.
Any ideas what's going on? It just started recently. Software has been completely up to date. Somehow I'm paranoid that the graphics card issue is coming back to haunt me again (I've had it replaced once already) but it doesn't seem like that's it.

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
Is there a way to disable mouse acceleration in OS X like this is in Windows, hopefully without resorting to a third party program?
And is there any way to turn off anti-aliasing, or turn it down further than the "light" setting? I've always really disliked anti aliasing...
I have a program that have preset Function Key shortcuts built into it, however, on my keyboard (the one that came with my iMac) it has those keys assigned to universal functions (e.g. play, brightness, volume. etc). Can I setup my iMac so that the Function Keys have different assignments for a specific program and then go back when I'm not using that program?

I have given away my old iBook (10.4) and my girlfriend would like a mail program. Is it true i can't just copy from my Macbook as MAIL runs on 10.5? When in System preferences and and try to open "Keyboard and Mouse", it just says; Loading Keyboard and Mouse. Then nothing happens and System Preferences freezes and i have to quit and re-open it to use it.
Everything else in there works fine.

I searched for an answer but I am quite unsure how to do this. Basically I plan to get a 24" external monitor to mainly use with my MacBook Pro. Also I would like to get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But I would also like to use all of them with my PC if/when I decide to use it. I have used KVM Switches before but never with bluetooth. Does anyone know a good solution for this? Should I just get a wired mouse and keyboard?

After i installed it it killed all my keyboard and mouse devices and now i can't connect anything and to move back to Mac OSX, I tried to connect many other keyboard and mouses and nothing worked.
