Software :: Lost Password For MAC OS X

I am traveling in southern Chile with my MacBook air. It has OS X operating system Leopard but not sur eof exact version. I had a problem and rebooted machine. It came up in SAFE MODE and asked for a password. I have no idea what my password is. I went on line using another computer and saw that if I have original DVD installation disks I can reboot with them and change password. Two problems with that.
1. I do not have disks
2. Even if I did the MACbook air does not have built in CD ROM port and not sure if my externally plugged in unit would even work if I did have the disks.
I have access to second computer with access to internet that I am using and did some searches. I found a proposed solution at [URL] Their suggested route is posted below: To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
1. Reboot
2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):.....

I put my mac mini away a couple years ago, and i decided to bring it back out to use and i can't remember the password on it. any idea how to reset it? or any way to format without the password?

I'm running a bootcamped Windows Vista and I forgot the password to the only admin account. Anyway to fix this without reinstalling the entire system? I don't have access to an installation dvd now either, so anything using that is not possible.

I have Macbook Pro running MAC OS X. I can boot the computer and use it but every time I try to download a new program or add a user or anything it asks me for the password, I don't have this password. Is there any way to by pass this without losing all my programs and information? I am desperate!

I have brought Macbook A1181 from ebay it works fine but there were two accounts but I don't know the password and when I try to get back to the ebay seller he is closed he is account. Also I have read the Mac website that I need to use the Code: If you don't remember the password and automatic login is turned off, you can reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X User Install disc. Because a user with the Mac OS X install disc can gain unrestricted access to your computer, you should keep the disc in a safe place. To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X disc:
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc and restart the computer.
2. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the spinning gear.
3. When the Installer appears, choose Utilities > Reset Password.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the password.
5. Quit the Installer and restart your computer while holding down the mouse button to eject the disc.
But didn't received any CDs from him so I don't know what version of CD I need it also I am new to macbook so its fully confusing please somebody help me how to reset my password.

when i update mac os 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 with internet , i stop download and turnof my macbook.and when The next day I was turnon my mabook, After entering the password ُ startup, Few moments later mark apple goes. Instead it a circle appears that the middle of it a line.I tried to get into the environment Safe mood, but i cant.Then I tried to get into EFI environment. But since it was published some have password protection. I published some of my work does not accept any password. Maybe I did not keep the password correctly. i backup my password with my Email or maybe apple id , but by me - but I do not know how can I find the EFI password.

I cant seem to add software or to update my adobe flash player. For example, when I got to update the flash player it instead asks me to type your password to allow Install Adobe Flash Player to make changes. It lists my name but for the life of me I dont remember the password (in reality I dont recall setting it up).

I have an application on my desktop that is attached to a webserver updating account that I need to modify the settings for. Problem is, I've forgotten the password and their 'forgot password' thing isn't responding after a few hours. If I could just reveal the password that's saved on the desktop application then I wouldn't have to mess with it. I looked all though Keychain, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere in there. Back in PC days there were tons of applications that could just reveal what was behind the little dots. After about 20 minutes of searching, it seems that the mac world offers no such convenience. Anyone know some other way around this? I mean, it must be stored somewhere on here. The application is remembering the password.

I have a macbook pro that I just got recently so I'm still kind of new to it all, now unfortunately my brother thought it would be funny to change the password but now he can't remember what he changed it to >:/. So I can still use my computer but there are certain things that I'm not able to do without a password. I had read that I could reboot the whole system to its factory settings which I'm okay with because I saved all my stuff to an external hard drive. Now the problem is that I no longer have the os x cd that came along with it but my friend who owns an imac has his, so I was wondering if I could use that one. That is, are all mac os x cds universal to mac computers? I had also read about manually rebooting the system but there were too many people who claimed it had damaged their computers instead so I want to avoid that. What should I don now?

This morning I performed a 'Software Update' on my Macbook Pro and 6 new items were updated. The Mac then asked me to restart so I did but when it came back on I logged in as normal but it won't connect to my wifi unless I type in the password. I've tried Utilities > keychain manager but all I get is 'Access to this item is restricted' (when I click on show password and login again). My ipad and iphone are still okay and can access the wifi fine.

I forgot my password after not needing it for quite some time. I tried to do a reset by pressing the button and then making a new password but I keep getting error messages after verifying the new passwords. The error message was something that airport could not be configured.
