View 4 RepliesI'm a bit of an audiophile sitting in my home studio listening to music. I just switched to mac and was wondering if there's some music application that can play music files in a suberb quality through a 24-bit soundcard.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a MacBook Pro and have always used PCs before that. I'm looking for a simple music player that is like WinAmp on PCs. I know that most people use iTunes but I don't need so many functions out of a music player, all I need is something that plays my mp3s, .WAVs, etc without all the fuss and deal with simple playlists.
View 8 Replies View Relatedo iTunes is no "GOOD" music player - iTunes is yet another player that can only handle a few file formats/codecs and cause of that is utterly bull.

The perfectionist in me noticed that some of the dock icons might not be centered on the on blue light.
Is it just me or are the icons slightly off centre?
is there an app that i can use to edit all the information fields then import them into itunes? i hate adding songs, then finding out that 5 or 6 of the songs are not labeled and the genre are different, so it makes finding them hard.
View 1 Replies View Relatedbut how do I buy DRM-free music on iTunes? Do I have to upgrade my current library to DRM-free before I can buy a DRM-free song? Is there a way of telling if a song is DRM-free, such as a icon in the corner? Because for the life of me, I can't seem to find any DRM-free songs, and I have iTunes 802...
View 8 Replies View RelatedNew here and new to making websites. I am making a site to showcase my music, and iWeb was very simple to use. The problem is the only way I can put music on the site is if i drag the mp3 file to the page. After putting 15-20 songs on the page, it takes a very long time to load the page because of all the files. I would much rather host the songs on another site such as imeem.com and place the music player on the page. it would make the page load very quickly, as well as let the visitors hear the music.
i dont want to shrink the files because the quality is much worse. i need to find a way to put many streaming music players on the page. is there a way to do this? i've looked around the forums and found nothing, and iweb didn't have anything in the help files.
I just purchased my 2.66 15" uMBP today and it's been a few months since I've owned a Mac and I forgot all of the old applications I had on it. I've currently downloaded Firefox and VLC but are there other apps that you can't simply do without? Also, is there a Mac application that can play FLAC music files?

I can open and play back music on MySpace with my 2005 imac g5. But my friend cannot open the player (it just doesn't show up, it leaves the space blank) with her 2008 Intel iMac. Is she missing a plug-in?

I Tried many Video Players... but the best one i've ever used so far was "windows media player classic" (shame on me)
I never found any other media player to just PLAY Videos, fast and without 10 Hours loading time(like nice player...) I want to just watch videos FAST, I don't need more features than...
Playing all video formats (like VLC) , and a playlist...
what do you think is the best one for OSX?
Itunes - Tries to "determine" gapless playback information everytime it starts up, won't work when you got your media over a network share.
Cog - It would be the best media player IF it didn't have so many bugs.
Songbird - I can't use my native keyboard media switching capabilities on the macbook pro. Also, it's slow.
So what else is there? (has to have a playlist)
When I transfer music from iTunes to my MP3 player it shows up in the MP3 twice, and only one of them will play. Any reason for this?

I've recently noticed some strange behavior in my dock - occasionally, after doing something related to system startup (startup, wake from sleep, etc.) I'll notice the dock starts to shuffle/slide around like a new program is opening itself up - except nothing ever does. It seems like whatever is trying to open quits itself before the icon can appear on the right end of my permanent dock icons.

Trying to listen to live streaming of a U2 concert tonight. The radio station says' i dont have the right plug in for MIME.
I've tried some recommend by windows and i've download VLC but still to no avail.
Now for the rub:
I've looked a fair bit and can't seem to find any way remotely easy to use the Apple DVD Player app. with my SD & optibayed MBP. VLC works but it isn't nearly as elegant or easy to use. I've scabbed up two loadings of Snow Leopard trying to replace frameworks/DVD files to get this to work. Interesting that the MBA can use DVD Player with the modified SD & all other computers w. an attached optical can use DVD Player too.
Has anyone been able to hack this easily? The only thing I can find is Macbidouille did an Hex edit of the framework/dvd file but there's quite a bit lost in translation. This should be the same problem any ext. DVD player has.
For some reason, when I go to listen to a band's music on MySpace, the player will load and play the music, but it won't show the song titles, and the little visualizer thing on the player all moves as one big blue block, rather than looking like a waveform. I downloaded the latest version of Flash, and I'm having this problem with both Firefox 3.5.5 and Safari 4.0.4.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone knew of a dock theme or hack that I could install relatively painlessly on 10.6.4 that makes the Dock, when placed at the bottom, look like it does when placed on either side of the screen. I've been looking all over the place but all I've found are themes for Candybar and co. that make the reflective bottom area some weird different color or texture. I would like to see a theme that makes the Dock more 2D-ish and at least similar to what you see on the sides of the screen when placed there.
