Software :: Export List - Save Playlist In Readable Format?
Aug 26, 2008
I have a playlist in iTunes and I wanna export the list so I can show people what my play list is, if I export it as plain text or xml it just shows code, is their anyway to save the playlist in a readable format?
I have an external drive that will need to be connected at different times to both my Mac (Leopard) and my Windows XP & Vista machines. I had it formatted for Mac OS (Journaled) but it wasn't readable in XP or Windows. So what is the best format so that all can read/write to it normally? NTFS? It needs to be able to handle larger files (4GB and bigger).
how do i convert mac classic files to a currently readable format? I have managed to copy them to a USB stick, and would like to find a site which can convert them to RTF or another current format.
I can't manage to format my Seagate 500GB external HD correctly so it can be readable with my Macbook. I formatted like six times already in Windows 7 and XP to NTFS and still my macbook won't read it...only my Windows computers can read/write it. What am I doing wrong?
I am using a Mac OX10 with Mountain Lion. I saved a vital mailbox to an original document file but it turned out encrypted. How can I get it into normal format? why did this happen?
My iTunes playlists used to give a precise total play time. Now that I downloaded the new version of iTunes, the playlist just estimates the time. So, "1 hour" could mean 1 hour and 2 or 3 or 4 minutes. That is a big problem for people who teach 60-minute fitness classes! I plan my class around that playlist, and 3 or 4 minutes is a big deal. Now I am having to add up the time of songs by hand. What a pain! Is there any way to get back the old format of time, which estimated exactly "59 minutes" or I think it was more precise, like "00:59:12." I need this format back. The estimate of "1.1 hours" is killing me.
I recorded bunch of video with iPhone 3GS and then edited a 12min quicktime movie from the clips. Problem is that the file size became HUGE, 1,24GB! How can it become so large file? Even one of the raw clips was 15min and 399MB. I just wanted to export the movie (with quicktime) to my Mac with the same quality as the iPhone recording quality. Here's the quicktime export settings details that I exported the movie:
-Compression type: H.264 -Frame Rate: Current -Key Frames: All -Compressor quality: Best -Encoding: Best quality -Data rate: Automatic
Filter: None Size -Dimensions: Current 640 x 480
Sound -Format: Linear PCM -Channels: Stereo (L R) -Rate: 48.000kHz -Render settings: Best -Sample size: 16-bit -Little Endian
I have a friend that is coming to visit but they wont be bringing their mac. However they want to be able to play some of their tunes on my mac. is there a way to save an itunes playlist and have it playable on another mac? If they logged in through the itunes store or something?
I have 21 songs and it's too long for CD. I've tried DVD but it won't keep the order correct. I just want to be able to plug in and import to another mac.
1) How can I export a keychain list? When I look in the file menu in Keychain Access, I can see Import but Export is dimmed. I want to merge my keychains at home with my keychains at work.
2) When I use Keychain Access and click one of those checkboxes that says "Show password," it asks me for my login password. That is fine, but when I click another record in the keychain database, it asks me for it again. In other words, I have to keep typing in my password for each individual entry in Keychain Access. I do not require that much security.
3) Where are the passwords all kept? In these files?: com.apple.keychainaccess.plist and login.keychain. If some hacker got a hold of these files, is there a way they could get my passwords?
i had my friend send me some lecture presentations by email. they are all in .key format and unfortunately i have a hp netbook. i need someone to just quickly export the 4 lecture presentations into .ppt format so i can quickly jott down the notes and finish cramming for my exam. id get him to do it but he wont answer!
I've purchased a series of Tutorial DVDs from digitaltutors.com and now wanted to be able to see the movie tutorial files in my Archos player on my way to work. To do that I must encode the files on a different codec.
The thing is the quicktime .mov files have some kind of protection that won't let me export or save the files.
Is there any software that can unlock the .mov files? Or a workaround on this matter.
I had this app a while ago that I could use to save a full page in Safari (scrolled down to the bottom) and export it as a PDF, but I forgot the name of the app and I'd really like it back.
The title says it all. Pages 09 is intermittently hanging (spinning beachball) when I try to save or export a document. It doesn't happen EVERY time, so I can't reproduce it, but it's happened several times in the past few days. I'm running Snow Leopard on an original Intel iMac. Everything is updated to the latest versions. What might be causing this or how to stop it?
Opening HD. always comes up in Icon View. Have gone into menu and unchecked "Icon view" and ckd. " list View" but quite often it goes back to icon view. Irritating that it won't stay as list view.
Macpro Work Station-2.8 gz.10 gig ram o.s.10.5.6-360 gig hd.
Why do some images not display a little thumbnail in finder when viewing in a list format, but they do in all other viewing modes?
And some images will have a thumbnail, and then when I rename the file to organize my folders, etc, the thumbnail disappears, sometimes from Cover-flow ode also. Which I also don't understand.
Similarly with videos, why do some videos not display a thumbnail/screen-cap in any view mode, when other videos, which as the same file type do?
Finally this is only a recent problem for me, but more serious than the aforementioned issues. I've had some images/files, that show an in correct thumbnail/cover-flow image. It shows one thing, but when you open it, it's actually a different picture. Mostly it happens when I rename an image, but its also happened just normally.
Is there a specific cause that I can fix, or is it just one of those things where you run the maintenance scripts, turn you computer off and let/hope it fixes itself?
I am wondering if there is a way to take an excel spreadsheet in numbers and change the format to alphabetical - the person did the list by DOB and that is just not helpful to me in finding clients?
I had saved a webpage on the Safari Reading List. I pulled it up, read a little, and saw it disappeared from the Reading List. I had ot finished reading it, so I decided to re-save it to the list, but the Add Page button on the Reading List window was greyed out. Nothing I did would change the greyed out button to make it functional.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), Just upgraded to Lion
What I did was I inserted the OSX disc, rebooted and waited for the mac osx setup to start from the disc. After selecting english as my main language I launced disk utility from the task bar.I choose to "'Erase" The entire drive which took a few seconds and I ended up with a supposedly blank 160GB drive called "Untitled" My question is was this done correctly? I reinstalled OSX on this "Untitled" drive and after a reboot the introduction movie started rolling.
I am suddenly no longer able to save pdf formatted documents in Preview using Lion 10.7.3. The content is a single page consisting of 4 combined pdf images. I get a "Printer Error" message. It had been working up until now. I restarted Preview and then restarted my system, but this problem did not go away. Is there some way of replacing/updating the save to pdf function or Preview without a total OS update?
I have a text file on my Macbook. It doesn't have any special formatting. I save it to Dropbox and open it on my PC (Vista). All of the carriage returns are missing and text is a big run on. How do I get carriage returns to transfer to the PC?
