View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to do it? I keep getting the option for mobile me whenever I hit publish.
I know how to FTP and all, but I cant even find the files on my computer. I want to throw them into dreamweaver and add some things.
1. I've had some trouble publishing with iWeb. The issue on Firefox seems to have gone away after my internet hosting company apparently "fixed" some DNS zones issues but the problem still exists when I view the pages in Safari. The website is [URL]. Notice how (in Safari) the "John O"Leary" at the top of the page seems to bounce but only if the page is not already in the browser's cache.
2. I've published a number of sites to folders. Is there any way to re-open these sites in iWeb to edit them or is the only way to do this to save the "Domain.sites" file under: User / Library / Application Support / iWeb?
Apple say they are stopping paid web hosting and backup with MobileMe. How do you publish your galleries and websites elsewhere or are Apple coming out with a new publishing and video solution?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am interested in developing a database at work (a medical research laboratory), and was wondering if anyone could suggest a decent database program. We currently have the following computers in the lab:
- Power Mac G4 running Jaguar (could upgrade to Tiger if need be)
- Power Mac G5 running Tiger
- Power Mac G5 running Leopard
- Mac Pro Quad Core Intel Xeon running Leopard
It would be extremely useful if the database program could sync databases, such that changes that one user makes on the database is transmitted to the other Macs (if so, we would require a server? Could we just convert one of the macs over to being a server? which one would be best?).
Specifically, if the database could be extremely user friendly, that would be great. Its just for keeping track of what reagents we have, what protocols we have, what cell lines we have, etc. etc.
I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account
My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.
Our eMac seems to be developing a green tint in the bottom right hand corner of its screen. I've done some quick searching online and it seems that a few people have suggested a cold boot so it runs the degaussing process on a startup.
I left the eMac off for about an hour, unplugged. It did the degauss once it was plugged back in and "seems" to have removed nearly all of the green tint.
There are a few threads on various forums when I search on Google about this issue but they have no conclusive reasons why this is happening.
Could my eMac be developing a fault at all? I'm not too sure if anything magnetic has been placed on our table near the eMac so this may be the reason.
Here's my situation:I created a site using iWeb '08. Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects. Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a site with a theme in iWeb 08 that has been removed from iWeb 09. I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed my 3 month old MacBook Air has 1/2" to 1" "play" or "slop" in the hinge. In other words, the screen will move 1/2" to 1" with little or no resistance. The hinge does not seem to have any adjustment or an easily fixed remedy.
I took it to the Southpark Genius Bar in Charlotte and at first they seemed quick to tell me there's nothing wrong. After further discussion, the Genius took my machine in the back for a closer look by whatever techs they have on site. Upon his return, he seemed much more perplexed and treated me as though I may have a valid concern.
While my machine was in the back I took the liberty of checking the three MacBook Airs on display. Two of the machines had screens with similar "play" as mine, the third one was much worse, maybe up to 2". I had the Genius make a note of my visit in the computer and told them I would monitor it for now and bring it back if it worsens.
I've recently been having some trouble accessing certain websites from my macbook.
What happens is that once I enter the address for the particular website in my address bar and press return/ enter, the browser attempts to load the website, but cannot seem to do so, as if it is being blocked in some way. After a minute or so of trying, I usually get the message 'Page Load Error' accompanied by 'Network Timeout' or 'Failed to open page' in Safari. Changing browser does not seem to work (same results with Camino, FF, Safari, and Opera), and using VMWare Fusion running XP, I get the same thing.
My setup is white C2D macbook, connecting wirelessly to an AEBS. I have another desktop, and 3 other laptops, as well as an iPod Touch and PS3 on the network and all of these can access the sites as normal. Just to let people know, I also changed to OpenDNS and flushed the DNS cache.
Could anyone shed some light on why this is happening? Alternatively anything else I should be looking to do (besides reinstall of OSX)?
For some reason my computer can't access a website. I just got accepted into a college and it won't let me access ANY of the website associated with that school. Also I just got denied to another website as well so now that makes it two!! I've heard of getting a virus that can change your hosts file which would make sense, but there's no way I have a virus. I visit these sites pretty frequently also. My roommate also can't get on the websites either from his computer, so I guess that would rule out the virus, and I'm guessing it would have to do with my router/IP. I've reset my Airport Express, tried using only ethernet and I still can't get to them. Anybody know what it could be? I desperately need to access the schools website!
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo the issue i'm having is that I can't connect to certain websites. However, I know I am connected to the internet as I am posting this and web browsing. If it matters I do have peer gaurdian installed but not currently running when I try to access these websites. I also know the websites aren't down because I can access them via 3G off of my iPhone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCertain websites, including facebook and youtube, don't load properly. It looks like all of the information is there, but it's all just listed down the left-hand side of the page.
On my PC, these websites load and look normal, but on my mac they do not look normal when they load. I have tried opening the websites using both firefox and safari with the same results. I have also tried changing various settings on my preferences for each browser.
I asked this question a long time ago, but I'm contemplating buying a new Mac (I may wait for Lion and get a new iMac then).
Anyway if you've seen my other posts you'll know I have an old iMac G5 with Panther which for various reasons I've only recently starting actually using. This means I have pretty old browsers and I can't help more recent versions. This has meant that lately both Safari and Firefox, which are updated as far I can for Panther, seem to crash if I try and go on anything but very simple websites.
I don't know if this is a fault with my iMac or just because it's such old software now (OSX and browsers alike) and so modern websites won't work - in much the same way as more and more websites won't work on my work PC, which still has IE6 and XP, because it's such an old browser (IT won't let us upgrade because some work-based stuff we use was designed to work with IE6!)
However, it has made me a bit cautious about getting a new Mac. I mainly want my Mac for websurfing which is a pretty light activity, BUT I do use chat-rooms, inbedded videos etc. etc. a lot. I know it's not Apple's fault but I really do want a machine where I can visit any website and use any feature.
Please be honest with me - do you have difficulty on any websites using a modern Mac with up to date OSX and browsers? Chat rooms, embedded video, shopping etc? If anyone is gay I'm specifically thinking of [URL] chat rooms which can be awkward even on Windows. I really love the web and I don't want to be unable to use any site - even just a few not working would really annoy me, so I need to know if Mac is the right platform for me...
I can't look at any website properly. Everything seems to be so messed up, even the Apple home page.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have three computers on my home network; A dual 1.8 G5 with Leopard, a Macbook Pro with Leopard, and a Windows XP Box. My problem with Safari started about 3 months ago, when I tried accessing a website via my g5. Safari said it could not connect to the server. I assumed the site was down. However, I hopped on my MBP and the site worked fine. In fact, I found a lot of sites that my G5 didn't want to access that my MBP could, on the same network. I have flushed my DNS cache, reset safari, cleared safari's cache, reset my router, cable modem, checked the DNS servers. Everything seems identical between the MBP and the g5. The problem happens in both Safari and Firefox

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've created a few PHP websites on my mac mini before uploading them. I placed the website files in the 'Sites' folder of my user account and turned on 'Personal Web Sharing' in the Sharing preferences and could access them fine. All of a sudden, I can no longer access the sites through my web browser - I'm given the message that my browser cannot connect to the server. Any ideas why this might have suddenly started happening? I installed MySQL last week - would that affect it in any way?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedMacBook hangs on certain websites (yahoo mail, cbs sports, mens fraternity) but only from one of my wireless networks. PC works flawlessly on this situation and macbook works flawlessly on my first wireless router so the problem is tied to the interaction between my Macbook and the second wireless router. I've searched the forums and tried many fixes already that have been posted here or elsewhere: Reset Safari (it then allows me to reach yahoo mail once, hangs on every try thereafter). Go to Safari preferences and uncheck the box for warning of fraudulent sites (no change) Go to advanced settings and input DNS numbers from my ISP (this solved the problem for some websites but not others) try firefox (same problem as safari) software update everything (no help) install onyx (about to do that). network is a DSL modem connected to the first wireless router (DLINK N+). Second wireless router is linksys G (the problem child) and it is hardwire connected to first wireless router.
View 13 Replies View Relatedso I've had my MacBook for over a year, and I've never had any issues like this before. On my personal account, Safari, FireFox, Opera, and the like cannot access [URL], [URL](or any variation that leads to the same site), any other Google-based websites, my school's online gradebook, nor will it allow me to log into my Yahoo! account, though i can still search on yahoo. I can use the Google search bar at the top of my safari window just fine, but not [URL], as mentioned before.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt has been this way ever since I reset the modem a few weeks ago. I cannot connect to certain websites that I know are not down. If I am able to connect briefly to a neighbor's wireless, the websites work fine. I just reset the modem a few minutes ago and the problem hasn't gone away. I've tried troubleshooting on google but all I get are PC solutions.
