View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a Mac OS X software that will capture streaming video and save in a playable format in Mac OS X? Kind of like DownloadHelper for Firefox captures FLV, MP4, MP3, etc... and saves it to your hard drive.

I used Snapz Pro demo which was good but the full version is too expensive.
any others I find seem to need my passwords to activate the audio capture features
What software? For capturing HD video from my display. I have watched some programs (instructional on Photography) but there is no download. I want to save some of them to watch later. I am using Lion 10.3.7.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got an old eMac in my den and I'd like to stream videos to the TV ( Toshiba 20" CRT ) in my living room.
I purchased the Apple video adapter, 24 feet of s-video cable and 20 feet of rca ( left & right ) cable with an adapter on one end to fit into the headphone jack on the computer. I hooked it up and there's no picture or sound on the tv when I stream a video.
Also, the icons on my desktop get larger once I plug the video adapter into the eMac.
I'm turning the TV to a Video section.
I have an Ibook g3 700mhz 384 MB and having dificulty watching streaming video for ex. cnn.com or any other. I can watch movies on flash drive and dvds no probs or from harddrive but streaming is very choppy. I know connection is not the issue (I have broadband) and streaming works fine on sony desktop running xp 1ghz with 256 mb ram. What gives?
View 10 Replies View Relatedi basically want to stream video from my isight while i am dj'ing live. i have the audio from the mixer being fed into the powermac via a usb sound card.
anyone have any ideas? or am i just going to have to be pissed because there is no good software out there like the shoutcast NSV for windows?
When I first got my iMac (OSX 10.5.2 with Leopard) I had no problem capturing audio/video in iMovie using my built-in iSight. Lately however I get a strange, undulating phase-cancellation sound appearing on the audio track about 10 seconds after I start recording. I can't hear this through my Mac when I'm recording, only during playback. It completely messes up my guitar movies. I have since downloaded iMovie '06 but I get the same problem there too. Is there a fault with my internal mic? What else could be wrong?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the new iMac 27' and was trying to capture some video from my DVR via a composite cable-USB converter. The composites run into a USB cable. So I plugged the USB cable into my Mac and tried to capture the video. Nothing came up in Toast showing me how to capture or even giving me a option to capture. Anyone know how to capture video using this method?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a doubt about FW800 compatibility. Im about to buy the new iMAC 27" and have in mind to buy a bidirectional video converter: Theres a note that says: "A video capture card or OHCI FireWire connection is required to capture DV. IEEE 1934 FW800 connectors are not supported". But I read that I could connect this device to the FW800 port with a FW400 to FW800 adapter (or otherwise buy the FireWire 800(1394b)/FireWire 400 (1394a) 9-Pin to 4-Pin Interconnect Cable) and would work fine as if was compelling with IEEE1934 rules. I wonder if FCS would recognize the video signal and Im not making a mistake buying this device. Capturing analog media is part of my services. Any suggestions of a similar device that would work with a FW800 connection? Or the Canopus ADVC110 will work properly in the new iMAC?
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a free program like snapz pro., that can capture video on your screen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to get some sort of video capture thingy for my new Mac Pro, as in, "hook up a VCR or video game console to it via S-Video or RCA inputs".
I know that there are a few USB/Firewire plug-and-play solutions out there, but i've always been the "put everything on the inside" kind of guy. Back when i was messing around with this before x amount of years ago the most affordable-vs-quality and efficient option for me was a PCI card.
I tried to do some googling on cards for the PCI Express slots in my Mac and was surprised that the options were few and far between and did not actually save me much money versus the USB/Firewire counterparts, so i'm wondering: is my philosophy outdated? Should i conform to the norm and get one of those external solutions, and if so, can anyone speak to the quality of the various ones that are available on the market?
I've found that I have a need to take more than screen shots on my machines. I need to be able to record on screen activities so I can add in clips of the desktop and what not to my iMovie files. I have found a not so free program called Snapz Pro which seems to have what I need. I'm more interested in freeware of course, so are there any similar programs to this one?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony DCR-PC100 Camcorder that uses mini DV tape for recording, and am trying to get the video onto my mac. I have tried in iMovie '06,'08 and Final Cut Express, and I keep getting the same problem. I connect the camera via firewire, and set the camera to VTR. The app recognizes the camera (Final Cut even specifies the model number correctly) and can access it enough so that when you hit play it starts the camera playing. But it never gets video or audio coming into the computer, instead it just keeps the capture preview as black or blue. Eventually it just color wheels for a while and freezes or has to be shut down. I am using an iMac G5, but have tried it on an Intel MacBook Pro, and the same problem happens. I also tried it on a PC and it worked fine, so I dont think it is the camera, but I have a lot of video to upload, so I need to do it on my iMac. Does anyone know why this would be happening, and what some possible solutions would be?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need screen capturing software. Not just snapshot, Grab does well for that matter. I need to capture video and audio from chat (not ichat). Open source, freeware seems don't exist and screenflow or ishowu seems quite cumbersome.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to get some ideas on how to capture Skype audio calls and the Video from MeBeam.com Since Skype does not allow video conferencing (more than to video calls) I had to resort to MeBeam.com to show the video during the Skype calls. What I want to do is capture both the video feed and Skype audio to archive. At this point it doesn't matter if the audio and video are in true sync. Any ideas on how to capture the audio and video or a program that will allow me to do video conferencing (more than 2 people).

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt's just dumbfounding considering the fact that Mac's are the industry choice for A/V related tasks. It seems that online radio DJ'ing would be a big thing for Mac. Before switching to Mac 100% I used to run SAM Broadcaster from Spacial Audio. I think any online DJ would agree that SAM is the best online DJ streaming software ever made. It incorporates absolutely everything.
Why doesn't someone make a SAM "clone" for Mac? I'd pay out the arse for it. I'm huge in to online broadcasting and Nicecast just doesn't cut it, it's WEAK.
Out of rage I just sent Spacial Audio a development request to release SAM Broadcast for Mac OS X Let's see what they say, haha.
It seems to me that Quicktime is losing out, big time, versus Flash for video streaming. Even the venerable BBC is proposing to use Flash for all its services for internet TV and most streamed audio is on Real Player.
So what do you all think Apple needs to do to get Quicktime back in the mainstream as a leading platform for DRM (of necessity) protected TV & Video?
My sound doesn't work when streaming radio, but only for radio! I usually listen to BBC Radio 1 via their homepage, but suddenly yesterday, the sound disappeared. I tried various other radio streams and they all failed too. All other sound output, ie. youtube, Itunes, DVD player, online games etc work fine.
Would anybody know what's going on?
