I use WMA MP3 Converter on Windows to convert audio books I download from the Library to remove the DRM 2 week restriction so I can play them on my iPod without date restriction. I am new to the Mac and cannot find an application that does the same. Is anyone aware of one that will do this? It is unique in that it removes the DRM fairly quickly.
I also use a free application MP3 to Audio Book Converter to merge the converted files to bookmarkable format.
I am looking for a fast and easy-to-use app, which can convert .mkv files to something the PlayStation 3 will play.
Doesn't matter if it is freeware or a paid application - as long as it does the job good
I have an HD MOV file I'd like to burn to a DVD with subtitles. I made a DVD in iDVD but obviously iDVD doesn't support .srt. I had the idea of replacing the separate episodes (I'm burning a series) with my own VOB files I made with different software. That way I could have my soft subtitles. But FFMPEGX won't work; I've tried nearly everything but there's this huge problem with the framerate which makes it basically unwatchable. Note that I live in Europe so this DVD should be PAL. The files have 23.98 FPS and I need to go to 25 for it to work in a DVD player. What's the best software for this kind of thing?

Haven't seen a converter that is free before for Mac yet.
I have a USB to serial converter. I don't know the manufacturer but found something on the internet that looked like it so I downloaded their driver.
Now (I'm new to a Mac) I need to see if it works.
1) Is there a way to display all of the devices in a GUI such that I can identify the com port? (I did "ls /dev" and I see ttys0, etc (about 20 or so))
2) I need to know which tty the converter belongs to. How do I do that?
3) Once I identify it, how do I set the serial parameters?
Is there any decent software out yet for converting MKV files? I am currently using Handbrake but it's fairly unreliable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently own a JVC Everio GZ-MG130 hard disk camcorder. It records in .MOD files. I cannot view them in quicktime on my imac g3. I have tried opening them as is, and renaming them to .MPG and .MOV. I found that HandBrake will do the job, but I cannot find a PowerPC version for 10.4. 0.9.1 should work, but I cannot find the installer files. If anyone knows of any other way to convert them, tell me. I need to be able to open them in iMovie '04 to edit them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've searched these forums and tried a few converters but nothing seems to be good. I used to use visual hub which up until recently was okay. Untill i tried to convert the film office space which i have as a matroska file to an mp4 for my iPhone. The film wouldnt run well and was very laggy on the iPhone. I got handbrake and that works fine for converting the film and makes .mkv's run smooth on the iPhone when converted to mp4, the only problem is that the program crashes after a while usually after converting one film. to cut a long story short! can anyone suggest some more video converters i can try that will work well with snow leopard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a easy-commanded software of iPod Video converter for Mac. I think it should convert audio and video files, such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, VOB, DivX, XviD, AAC, AV3, MP3, to the formats supported by Video iPod including MP4, M4A, MP3, MOV, etc within few steps and a few minutes. You know, sometimes you have to waste a lot of time to waiting for the entire conversion process without doing other things on your computer. Just now, I found one software just released this year by mp4converter.net at [URL] It seems ok, but does anyone have tried it yet? Give me some advice on its advantages and disadvantages.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've got an 08 Mac Pro with a 30" ACD hooked up to it as well as a 24" Apple LED display (via a MDP to (DVI?) converter) and I'm having some problems. Basically, sometimes the screens go black. It can be when the computer turns on, that one (never both) doesn't turn on... or, when waking from sleep, or, one just goes black at some point. I ran TechTool Deluxe on the Mac Pro and the GPU passed the test just fine. FYI The converter is USB powered.

I try iSkysoft Video Converter and it works, but It loose too much quality , the original .mov is 2GB and the biggest better quality i can get with that app is like 400-500mb. I'm giving up, I've search youtube and google for hours in the last 3 days without any success of making the .mov to work on sonyvegas or converting it, that's why i decided maybe someone in here can help me, I'm still kinda like a noob on MAC OS X
