A light comes on in the device, but I can't get my keyboard to communicate with my laptop (going into Albeton_Live) at all.

Nov 14, 2007Dock hiding just doesn't work any more. Specifically, the dock WILL hide, but it won't return when I need it to. You can move the cursor to the bottom of the screen (where my dock presently is), and nothing happens. This has happened before, but now it happens consistently. It's awfully frustrating. A couple of times today, hiding wouldn't turn on, either (that is, the dock just wouldn't hide at all), but that's sortof a moot point, since if it HAD hidden, it wouldn't have reappeared.

Apr 4, 2009in the past week or so this minor problem began to occur. expose suddenly doesn't work, my hidden dock won't appear when I move my mouse to the bottom of the screen, when I move my mouse over my bookmarks in Safari, they don't "highlight" like usual, my mouse pointer arrow doesn't change to the "hand" when moving over links, etc. This is very strange, when I click Safari at the top of my screen I actually have to hold down the left click to scroll down to "preferences" or "quit" or whatever. i can't single click and just drag down. i have to actually click and hold.

Aug 27, 2014Just a couple days ago keep in dock no longer works. Rebooting resets everything. I tried deleting the preferences file for dock, no luck. Same problem. I tried restoring it from an earlier time. No luck. Still does not work. I am using the latest versions of everything. Oh, and yes I use and have tried and checked antivirus programs. No virus. I've tried removing them. Still doesn't work.

Dec 10, 2008the application dock at the bottom of the screen has disappeared on my MacBook Air. Even if I go into system preferences and click the dock setting to show the Dock bar on the screen it still doesn't appear.

May 21, 2012The Dock doesn't appear. Spaces is greyed out and won't stay enabled. Desktop picture cannot be selected (stays standard blue screen). Screensaver does not work and cannot set hot corner.
I have deleted the dock plists, restarted, repaired permissions, updated to 10.6.8, restarted again. Still no dock, no Spaces, no desktop picture change, no screensaver.
How did this begin? I had lots of large-memory apps running (eg. Photoshop, Garageband, Pages, Audacity, etc) and then there was a freeze, I can't remember which app – probably Photoshop) and I had to shutdown using the on/off button.
After that startup, all the problems were present. :-( (I've looked at related Dock-crash posts here: I do not have installed: Parallels; Fusion.)

Mar 31, 2009Today the OS X dock on my late '08 MacBook Pro 15" stop working like normal. It used to be, when an App was open, the icon would appear in the dock with a sort of highlight.
Now, the apps run fine but no longer appear in the dock. If I minimize it, it does show as a running app in the left hand side, but that isn't what I want it to do. Is there a quick way to get it to work again?

I have created other accounts on my computer previously and the dock on those is fine...I have looked in Activity monitor and it flashes on and then disappears in there.I tried using terminal to 'killall Dock', but this did nothing...Am using Leopard on Alu iMac.

I am new to the Mac and cannot find an application that does the same. Is anyone aware of one that will do this? It is unique in that it removes the DRM fairly quickly.
I also use a free application MP3 to Audio Book Converter to merge the converted files to bookmarkable format.

Applications :: MOV To VOB Converter With Subtitles
Sep 4, 2010I have an HD MOV file I'd like to burn to a DVD with subtitles. I made a DVD in iDVD but obviously iDVD doesn't support .srt. I had the idea of replacing the separate episodes (I'm burning a series) with my own VOB files I made with different software. That way I could have my soft subtitles. But FFMPEGX won't work; I've tried nearly everything but there's this huge problem with the framerate which makes it basically unwatchable. Note that I live in Europe so this DVD should be PAL. The files have 23.98 FPS and I need to go to 25 for it to work in a DVD player. What's the best software for this kind of thing?

Oct 25, 2009I have a USB to serial converter. I don't know the manufacturer but found something on the internet that looked like it so I downloaded their driver.
Now (I'm new to a Mac) I need to see if it works.
1) Is there a way to display all of the devices in a GUI such that I can identify the com port? (I did "ls /dev" and I see ttys0, etc (about 20 or so))
2) I need to know which tty the converter belongs to. How do I do that?
3) Once I identify it, how do I set the serial parameters?

Nov 15, 2009I currently own a JVC Everio GZ-MG130 hard disk camcorder. It records in .MOD files. I cannot view them in quicktime on my imac g3. I have tried opening them as is, and renaming them to .MPG and .MOV. I found that HandBrake will do the job, but I cannot find a PowerPC version for 10.4. 0.9.1 should work, but I cannot find the installer files. If anyone knows of any other way to convert them, tell me. I need to be able to open them in iMovie '04 to edit them.
