Recently bought a movie off of itunes and would like to burn it to a cd, for those who have done this, what is the best (free) software to help me with this challenge.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe reason I need this is for the xbox 360. If you have a flash drive you can watch movies on your tv just through a flash drive. The problem is all my movies are in .avi and they have to be .wmv.

So, besides VMware converter, are there any other free tools that will let me convert my Parallels machine for use in VirtualBox? I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8.
Im at a loss. Does one exist? .mkv to anything playable will be fine.
or an mkv player will work i suppose
I've quickly searched around, and found too many options and no idea about the quality of each. One site has one list of ten "best" free video file converters, while another site has a completey different list of ten "best"!
So, I can't figure out what a good well-known, easy to use one is. I want to be able to convert random different types of video files into DVD-quality files to watch on my DVD player, and I want the quality to be good.
I'd like to convert some videos to MP4 so I can play them on my iPod Touch. I could only find free trial versions.

View 2 Replies View Relatedthis has probably been asked like a million times, but it's different, because I have loads of purchased audio that i want to convert with their ID3 data tags intact.
I'm really not in the mood to go through the converted files re-labelling them (so sure you guys would feel my ****** mood here...).ffmpegX is an awesome free tool but it kind of gets rid of the ID3, unless someone knows a trick I'm missing out on?
i need help finding a free video converter that will convert avi files into mpeg. so i can use it in imovie

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to burn some DVDs. I first burned in Finder and found out the hard way that that makes terrible quality data disc DVDs. Then I tried on iDVD, and at first it said it would only take 3 hours to burn a 1 1/2 hour movie on Professional Quality, so I was happy. But as it was encoding, it jumped to 16+ hours! So I tried again with only high quality, and it still said 8 hours, and now after 10 hours is still encoding. So, I need something else that's faster. I also need something relatively easy to learn/use. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about kind of, but I really don't and I just barely figured iDVD out. I still want it to convert into DVD quality discs (and good quality - I just got a new HDTV and would even like to try burning HD or Blu-ray discs). And I need it to be free.
So, my needs are:
#1 - FAST
#2 - FREE
#3 - GOOD QUALITY CONVERSIONS
#4 - EASY TO LEARN/USE
I am looking for a fast and easy-to-use app, which can convert .mkv files to something the PlayStation 3 will play.
Doesn't matter if it is freeware or a paid application - as long as it does the job good
I have a USB to serial converter. I don't know the manufacturer but found something on the internet that looked like it so I downloaded their driver.
Now (I'm new to a Mac) I need to see if it works.
1) Is there a way to display all of the devices in a GUI such that I can identify the com port? (I did "ls /dev" and I see ttys0, etc (about 20 or so))
2) I need to know which tty the converter belongs to. How do I do that?
3) Once I identify it, how do I set the serial parameters?
Is there any decent software out yet for converting MKV files? I am currently using Handbrake but it's fairly unreliable.

I am looking for a free reputable site that converts Youtube videos to mp3 files.
I did a search and tried 2 sites but stopped as they both seemed sketchy. I had a "unvarified securety warning" pop up on my computer from one site. The other one I tried had me prompted to a survey I had to fill out in order to convert the video which ended up being a marketing ploy for phone ringtones that you get charged for. Needless to say, I bailed on both sites.
Are there any real, legit decent Youtube to Mp3 converter sites that offer a decent, safe application or service?
decided to pick one of these up and see what its like ?
could be pretty cool if it works well want to use raid 1 for my boot and going to see how quick it does raid 0
curious if anyone has one yet ? will let you know next week some time my thoughts

I'm a big handbrake user, but its very tedious to have to manually queue everything. Its just not practical when you've got 50+ files to do at once.
Does anyone know of a converter that just lets you bulk convert say an entire directory to h.264 from a bunch of different filetypes?
I want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to run a hdmi signal over a long distance and was going to use a cat5 cable but can't find a mini displayport to cat5 converter or a hdmi to cat5 converter. I'm not sure this is even possible, but don't know why it wouldn't be because you can stream HD content over the internet using cat5. And a long cat5 cable is a lot cheaper than hdmi cables and extenders.
