How do you merge images in MAC OS X? Like, taking a pic, and placing it behind another picture. Like making a transparent background for a picture from another picture. Idk, like randomly putting Michel Jackson (he's awesome!) behind a window in a picture. Something like that. Plz tell me the program the the necessary steps to do it.

But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!

I finally ripped my music into digital format. It is a very large library so I performed the rips in four segments creating four folders of music. The highest level folders are Music1, Music2, Music3, Music4. The next layer folder is the artists name, then album name, then the actual MP3S. How do I merge the folders? If I perform a copy the first artist name is sees that already is exists, the finder wants me to skip the copy or replace the folder that is there. I simply want to add the folder or merge it. Is there a "merge" function in OSX? I tried Carbon Copy but it will not copy or sync fils on the same disk.

I started my Apple ID with a gmail account years ago. When iCloud came out I made a new me.com email address under my original Apple ID. It won't let me switch it in iTunes. It says their two different Apple ID's. So I can change my email address in any other services except Apple's. I'm stuck using my gmail until I can switch that.

I'm trying to copy folders from my Macbook Air's hard drive to my Google Drive app. The folders are newer versions of what's on Google Drive - ie it contains much the same stuff but some extra files and maybe some updated files.Â
However, the only options it gives me when copying are "Replace," "Don't Replace" or "Stop" (and from what I can tell, those latter two do exactly the same thing - or should I say, don't do the same thing... I mean they both just cancel the copy).Â
I was sure there used to be an option "Merge" which skips anything identical and replaces only new or edited files. This is the exact thing I want to do! But is that option gone? Or is there a way I can get it back? (I can't find any way to bring it back in the system preferences).
I could just hit "Replace" (and I will in the meantime), but there are two problems with that: 1) that will get annoying when files and folders are large; 2) more pressingly, that will muck up the sharing permissions. There's a particular sub-folder that I currently have shared on Google Drive with specific people, and I don't want to override that folder with one that's identical in everything except the all-important sharing settings.Â

When, oh when is Apple going to include a comprehensive merge feature in Pages. Yeah, I know we can merge Address Book fields into Pages docs, and that's cool and works flawlessly. But I've got literally 100s of WriteNow template docs and data docs that I created back in the mid-1980s to use in my estate planning practice - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care surrogates and tons of forms letters we use every day.
But the era of OS 9 applications like WriteNow and INControl which have been orphaned and un-supported for at least 12 years and Classic mode is soon to end. And here I am tied to the proverbial wagon wheel unless Apple completes Pages as a comprehensive office word processor by adding a full featured merge function. With the release of Bento, I thought it would be the companion data base for mergeable template documents in Pages, but I can haven't seen anything that looks like it. Please Apple, get on the stick and get a release of Pages out with a full featured merge function in it to save us long time, loyal Apple fans from the horror of having to use MS Word as a primary word processing application.
let's say i have two folders named the same thing, and i want to merge their contents together, but not replace. if i try to merge these folders together in mac os X, it asks if i want to replace the entire contents, vs. windows, which will merge the contents of the folders, replacing duplicate files if they exist in the destination folder, but otherwise the contents of the destination folder remain unchanged. any way to make os X behave like windows in this particular case?

These two directories are mostly the same but they each have a few differences. I want to backup my iTunes music onto that backup drive but I need to make sure that I get all the music from my Mac and the backup drive. I've been using Submerge for a while to merge subtitles to some movies. It's been working fine. But today I got a problem. I tried several times, with different movies, to merge subtitles, but it wouldn't work. The software renders the subtitles, I can watch it with Submerge, but when I try to export it as a flatten movie or mpeg4, the subtitles are not there when I use the file in my DivX Compatible DVD Player. It was working until yesterday. In VLC they appear, but in a separated window. I've installed PEnGUIn Encoder MP4 this morning (and updated its binaries).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Time Machine backups of two iPhoto Library files, one of which I've flawlessly copied to my new iMac, everything is in working order and awesome. Now I have an additional iPhoto Library from another computer that I'd like to add.
How should I go about doing this? I fear that if I simply drag-n-drop the Library file into iPhoto I'll get duplicates (the Original/Modified folders) and lose all the albums, etc.
I've got 20 MP4 files I'm trying to merge into a single MP4. When I drag any one of the MP4 files into MKV Tools it comes up with an error that says: "The variable theTrackData is not defined. (-2753)". Can someone either help with a solution to the MKV Tools problem or suggest another program to merge MP4 files without losing any video quality.

I have a large iTunes library on a WD 2TB external hard drive from a older computer in which iTunes would play items off the external HD and no iTunes item save on the internal HD. The library consists of music, movies, shows, books, apps, etc. I just recently bought a used 1st gen MacBook Air and without thinking transferred purchases from my iPhone and started syncing with the Air before I thought about the older library on the external HD. Now I have a new, small library on the Air's internal HD and the older, larger library on the external drive.
What I'd like to do is merge the smaller into the larger one and keep the library on the external HD and iTunes read everything from the external HD. With merging the 2 libraries, will it transfer my iPhone stuff as well? (backups, apps, info, etc.) Also, now that my iPhone is synced my Air and no longer synced through my older library, will I have to re-sync it again when the 2 are merged or will it automatically recognize it as already synced to newly merged library? Currently running OS 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.5.2.

I must be missing something. I've read the instructions for merging pdf documents in Preview, but it's just not working. Wants me to "duplicate" a file or something. This seems very un-Mac-like. I get 2 documents open, drag the thumbnails from one into another, one at a time, and then try to "Save As".
