For some reason when I create a new event it says my time computer's time zone is Cassablanca. I have checked all the settings I could think of and none of them say Cassablanca. Have you seen this issue?
View 1 RepliesOkay, so I am running OSX and Vista on Bootcamp. I have noticed that when I use Windows or just even restart OSX that my date and time changes. Today it changed to March 1, 2000. I am curious as to why this happens. My time zone is fine. I think it has something to do with the Vista configuration.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my Macbook from the US, but now I've returned to my country and since then ,I think, when I'm not connected to the Inet the clock is way off.
In the PC's the system clock can be easily changed in the BIOS and if I don't have Internet the clock is currect. +- a few seconds aren't that big of a difference.
And here is an example:
I put my laptop to sleep. Go to school, but there is no WiFi, It's ,let's say, 12:34PM. The clock in Mac OSX, Windows 7 shows 10:15 AM. (The times are for example). As soon as I go online, the clocks are adjusted via [URL] or [URL] depending on the OS. And the clock shows the currect time of ,in this example, 12:34 PM.
Is it possible to set the time zone/clock in the EFI boot system similar to the BIOS in the PCs?
I'm currently using rEFIt as boot manager and there there is a Shell console.
I recently moved from Illinois to Ohio. Now, when I go to either google maps or the time zone settings on my Macbook Pro, it thinks I am in Illinois. Google maps will update eventually to the correct location, however the the time zone in OS X will not. I have tried deleting .plist files and rebooting.

And as such if i leave the computer open mountains of junk gets installes. Is there any workaround for allowing access only to the date/time or even just the timezone pref pane?

I'm running Vista SP1 64-bit on a 17" unibody macbook pro. Whenever I start up windows, it sets the time to GMT/UTC. I have set it to the correct time zone, and enable internet syncing. However, no matter how many times I reset the clock, whenever the computer is restarted, it sets itself to UTC again.
Now this could have to do with the fact that Boot Camp is not installed on the Windows side. I find that it takes too much effort to update drivers that way, so I install all of the drivers manually. I have a feeling that this time issue may have something to do with that, as I believe apple's bios is set to UTC, and os x corrects itself via software, where windows sets the bios itself and runs off of it.
I don�t use this feature that often, so I don�t know how long this hasn�t been working, may or may not be related to 10.6.4. I have used it in the past though, so I do know how to use it.
Right now, no matter what time zone I set iCal to, it displays the events in the time zone they were created in. And I can�t change the time zone an event is set to, it just snaps back to its original event. Right now I have two events for different time zones set on the same day, one after the other. In reality, they�re about an hour apart, but they appear to be 2 hours apart, and when I change iCal�s time zone, they don�t shift accordingly.
Ever since we jumped ahead an hour my iCloud calendar has been off by an hour. It shows up with the correct time on my iPhone but not on the Web. There is no place for me to adjust the time zone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad a problem with finding back files I just worked on. E.g. I was preparing an email with attachment. I would amend or create a file, save it somewhere. Then when I wanted to insert a file the dialog box would dump the file frustratingly right down below under the 'No Date' heading. I tried disabling the automatic time zone setting and it appears to have resolved the problem for now.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI admit I was pretty skeptical given the quirkiness and general flakiness I saw in Parallels 4. I used the demo for 2 weeks and ended up switching from Fusion 3. The feature set is now on par with Fusion, and it actually does seem quite a bit faster. I'm undecided if I like the snapshot/time machine setup yet. I'm wondering if anyone has had problems doing full restores using this setup?
The conversion was mostly painless with one two minor hiccups. A blue screen the first day I started using it with my work XP image, and the time zone was apparently set to Central America instead of Central Standard (apparently that bug has existed for a very long time...get on the ball folks, it looks bad).
I'm in the UK but the only ICloud time zone I'm offered is the Pacific. I'd be grateful for suggestions on how to sync my calendar in the week view with BST. At present the nearest I can get is the Azores.Â

One of my clients just purchased a Macbook Pro over the holidays (first time switcher from Windows PCs), and is using Entourage 2008 in place of Outlook 2007. (I used the excellent conversion utility from [URL] to move all his Outlook data over to Entourage.) So far, so good, except he ran into a bug I couldn't resolve for him. Apparently, if his laptop goes to sleep, when he wakes it back up, he receives a bunch of new emails into Entourage that all have the exact same date/time stamp on them (of the time the machine woke from sleep). Other than turning off sleep mode, or always making sure Entourage is closed down before the laptop goes to sleep, is there a fix for this issue?

I want to import into Entourage the e-mail from a backup of the disk. I know how to import mail into Entourage from other e-mail programs and I know how to import mail into Entourage from an archive created by exporting from Entourage, but I cannot figure out how to import from a backup of the folders under the "/Users/(username)/Documents/Microsoft User Data" folder, under which is where Entourage stores mail.
I am trying to finalize a project but cannot finalize or upload to YouTube due to this error?

Imagine you have to send an announcement for a meeting to a group of about two hundred people roughly once a month. That group evolves: sometimes people drop out, sometimes new people join. The way I currently handle this is that I search in my "Sent" history for past instances of this email, then copy and paste the email addresses into a new message body, then go through my Inbox to search for requests from new people to be added and add them to the recipient list, then search my Inbox for people who want to be removed and take their emails out of the copied-pasted recipient list from last month, then finally get to write the new email body and send it out. Takes about 15 minutes of my time each time I do it just to get the email ready, about a minute to write the body.
So I thought it's time to create a group that I can over time subtract and add to, but is there a simpler way to do this than go through my several thousand addresses long address book and find the addresses of folks that have been recipients in the past (which would roughly take me an hour to do)? Wouldn't it be logical for Mail to simply allow me to establish a new group, than drag and drop the email addresses from past recipient lists into that group (which would take roughly 5 seconds)?
I begin uni next month and have been offered accommodation. My room won't have WiFi but will have a wired connection. I'm wondering, is it possible to - rather than connect my MacBook - connect the Time Capsule to this connection and create a wireless network? Also, is it simple to switch from one connection (my current WiFi at home) to another (the uni connection)? Finally, is it easy to switch from being connected via Ethernet to using WiFi (after initial backup for example)? The lack of WiFi would really be rubbish when I have an iPhone and Time Capsule.

I want to create a chart that shows the highest given value for each day (regardless of which hour it occurred) and another chart with the highest given value by hour. In the above sample the chart would show:

I am able to do this in excel very quickly by using a Pivot Chart, but can't seem to figure this out in Numbers.
If I create a wireless network and then switch off my iMac and use it the next day I have to recreate the network. I have tried locking the network settting but it doesn't stay locked.

I updated with the latest Lion patch yesterday and since then Entourage has either hung or taken a very long time to update from our 2003 Exchange server (I have MS Office 2011 but as you're probably aware, there are issues integrating with a 2003 Exchange server). how this might be fixed, short of updating both our 2003 Windows Server to Windows Server 2008 x64 and Exchange to 2010 so I (the only Mac user out of 85 staff) can use Outlook 2011?

I have two computers using one Time Machine Disk. The physical disk is connected to my Mac Mini, and it's shared over the network to my MacBook Air. The picture below is the backup disk in case you didn't guess. The notebook is my MacBook Air. So the MacBook Air backs up just fine, but every time my Mac Mini tries to back up, it pops up with "Would you like to reuse the backup "*DIRECTORY TO MACBOOK AIR'S BACKUP*" with this computer?" also shown in the picture below. So I click "Create new backup" and it seems to backup in the Mac Mini's backup folder like it should... until next time. I just want it to back up normally, both of them, without asking me anything first. Until now, I've just disabled automatic backups for my Mac Mini and would backup whenever I felt needed.

In the root directory of Time Capsule a folder called 'Data' is created to store the Time Machine backup. I can't seem to create folders next to the Data folder? I can't only create new folders within the Data folder. Is this normal?

1. I can create a new backup later
2. create a new backup
I don't want to create a new backup, I want to use the old one. I still have enough space on my backup volume. I'm using the Airport Extreme and a WD hard drive.

After updating to Lion server, I moved my Drobo over and setup Time Machine
Many users are prompeted to reuse or create a new backup.
The problem is I log in with credentials of 'USER A', and on the dialog it lists another 'USER B', userb.sparsebundle as the file to reuse. Â
I recently had a iMac hard drive die, and i tired to use the time machine on the server, with 'USER A' credentials, i got 4 listings and none of them were 'USER A'Â
I check the drobo and 'USER A''s sparsebundle is there. I have tried changeing permissions to read the sparsebudle, but the bundle is a 250k file, not a diskimage of the files even. Â
How do i resolve this problem of the wrong users coming up on "reuse or create new backup"?Â
How do i access the lost sparsebundle that i cannot log into to get the files for the user that needs them?

I have a mid-2008 (June) MBP 15". Just upgraded to SL last night. I am having a serious issue with time machine. I've been using it with the same external HD since I bought my mac last year. No issues up until I installed SL last night. This morning (my first backup since upgrading), time machine started backing up (~ 9Gb) but just stops at around 300Mb. The clock keeps spinning, but there is no change in the amount backed up.
I'm reading that other folks are having this issue as well. Has anyone figured something out?I've run disk repair (nothing found), restarted my mac & external HD (several times each), and cancelled and restarted the time machine backup (several times). Each time it freezes at a different amount (i.e. 34Mb, 284.2Mb, etc...).
