I just wanted to know if it is possible to ad inboxes in MS Entourage? At the moment I have 2 accounts in 1 inbox, and I don't like the mess. I would like 1 inbox pro account. Possible? or not? If not, which emailprogram can do this? Can Macmail? or Mozilla Thunderbird?
I am moving from my exchange server... and use entourage 2008... since i dont have exchange any more theres no need to use the buggy entourage... so in entourage i copied all my folders (mail) from exchange to local.
then i set up apple mail - added all my imap accounts (which are in addition to to my old exchange account).
If apple mail supported exchange i would simply connect to it and move my folders local - but alas its not supported yet - and i cant wait for the update.
so i imported from the import menu (using the entourage option).
It all looked good (i have a lot of mail - so it took several hours).... I clicked on a random message on of the imported folders... its blank... subject, from etc are there in the columns - but the message is blank -- tried another - blank..
I use Apple's Mail program and also my school's webmail (outlook.com) in conjuction to check my school email. However, for some strange reason, my inbox on outlook.com will only hold up to 2 weeks of mail. My inbox in Mail will still be intact, yet for the life of me, I can't figure out why my webmail inbox is disappearing. I've checked every possible setting on outlook.com to no avail. I've also checked Mail's settings, but haven't seen anything as far as deleting older mail. BTW, we're allowed 25 gigs on outlook.com so they shouldn't be deleting them automatically.
I've got really odd behavior in my Mail application running on a MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM OS X 10.7.3. I have several email accounts. In one of them, "X," some emails don't show up in the account Inbox even though they are present in the overall Inbox marked as "Inbox - X"! Also, when I set up a Smart Mailbox with as criterion that the sender is "Y," the sender of one of these "missing" emails, those emails don't show in the Smart Mailbox. What's going on here? It screws up my email management as I can't be sure my Smart Mailboxes and folders contain all that they're supposed to.
I delete a large batch of emails from my inbox, empty the trash, and the deleted emails reappear in the inbox. This happens repeatedly. How do I get rid of these emails permanently?
I've seen lots of threads go by about importing e-mail from one program to another, and my case is seemingly simpler, but I have had no luck so far.
I want to import into Entourage the e-mail from a backup of the disk. I know how to import mail into Entourage from other e-mail programs and I know how to import mail into Entourage from an archive created by exporting from Entourage, but I cannot figure out how to import from a backup of the folders under the "/Users/(username)/Documents/Microsoft User Data" folder, under which is where Entourage stores mail.
Any time I try to remove an icon from the dock or an item from the login items and then logout/restart they come right back. It's like OS X is remembering my last login and then just duplicating it. I can't get it to keep it the settings I give it. Google and a quick search of the forums gave me nothing.
My own account login items list in my systems preferences window is limited to one item- an istat menus helper app. But my mac hd/library/StartupItems folder contains two items that I don't recognize and don't think have much to do with starting up the computer. One is a Qmaster folder and another is named RDUSB00A3Startup. Each folder contains a few items, including a unix executable file and a plist file. My mac hd/system/library/StartupItems folder is empty. Can anyone please advise on whether the items in my mac hd/library/StartupItems folder are necessary and if deleting them could affect my computer? I don't use Qmaster and have no idea what the RDUSB00A3Startup folder is for.
I have a bunch of .m4a files that I recorded on my iPhone voicememo, but there are more than 20 copies for the same one for some reason. How can I delete every thing except one copy, without having to tediously delete it by click on 2nd duplicate, press Shift, click on the last duplicate, delete?
I have some .mp3 duplicates that I would like to delete as well.
I'm in the process of cleaning up duplicates on the HD. What I want to know "positively", is Trash Bin fully isolated, and cannot be accessed/used by OS X 10.7.3 when exercising applications resident on the HD.
I have just discovered much to my delight - that I can burn my music files as MP3 format. Obviously I have had to chanage the preferences and some items I have had to re import - but with existing files I have had to create an MP3 file from the existing file - which creates a duplicate.I can see which are which by listing KIND is there an easier way to delete the original AAC file? I really don't want to have too many (as I have too many already) music files.I have tried searching for the duplicates under finder but only the new file is showing? So far I am using a playlist to create MP3 and I imagine that then clearing the playlist and recreating playlist - list by kind and slect all AAC to either deselct or delete.

So I know about the actual menu item in iTunes, but I'd like to know if there was a way to only remove true duplicates, not the same song on a different album. Like I there is one song from a particular artist that is on 3 different albums, is there any way to have all three songs read from only one file in the HDD? That way, the song would be a part of every album, but it wouldn't take up my HDD space. I could probably do this manually by deleting those other two files, and then "locating" them when iTunes can't find it, but this would take forever. So is there any app that does such a thing? Or am I dreaming?
my library has some issues in that it does not register all of my songs in itunes
I know this as when I copied my entire folder to my macbook (minus the library and .xml files) I have a few hundred more songs than I do on my desktop
However, since I did not have the .xml and library folder carry over, I lost all my playcounts, playlists, dates, etc that I like to have.
Is there any way I can reimport my entire library and only add the songs that are not "seen" by itunes at the moment? FWIW, I have thousands of song files and I do not want to manually search for which ones show up in my mb library but not my desktops
I have a Mac version 10.7.2 I have found that I have hundreds of duplicates of information on my mac. This I found out when undertaking a search with spotlight. what would be a safe utility to easily remove duplicates.Â
