I have a couple of niggles with the Mail app. They're nothing I can't live with but even so. First all the emails I send out get marked as junk. Secondly I have a couple of accounts set up and one is for my work emails. I have set a signature for these with my company logo but every time I write a new mail and set it to come from my work address the signature isn't there. If I go back into preferences and set the signature to the account all is fine, but I have to do this before every email I send.
I am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?
On a fairly regular basis I finde non-junk emails in my junk folder. In other words mails that are black and not brown and from people that I would like mails from. As they are black I do not have the option of marking them non-junk. Â
- there are some settings under Junk Mail - advanced, not to put mails from previous recipients in the junk folder. But it keeps doing it. Â
- also, the mails in question are not necessarily from one company, from hotmail, Gmail, etc., It can be from anyoneÂ
- I have 9 different email accounts and the junk folder in question is the one under "Mailboxes". Not the junk folder under the iCloud accountÂ
- there is no "system" in regards to which of my account the mail is sent to, which makes me believe that this is not an iCloud issue. It can happen with mails sent to my work mail and also with mails sent to my iCloud mailÂ
- the funny thing is that when it happens to an email sent to my iCloud mail address, then it does not go into the "online" junk folder under iCloud, but into the junk folder on my mac. Â
On some occassion I have tried to add the sender to my address book, but that doesnt guarantee that it does not happen again.Â
I have 4 mail boxes configured in to my Mac Mail. The problem is, in one mail box, when i receive emails to that mailbox, the messages are already marked as Read. It's configured as IMAP.
I am trying to use my gmail account through the mail application, however it is marking all my emails, even ones from when I first made my account, as unread is there a way to sync it so it can tell when I have read an email on gmail.com and mark it as unread? Also is there a way to synch the various labels that I have created on gmail?
I checked my junk folder (said I had one junk item). I checked it as non junk. After looking at it, I erased it. When I went back to my inbox everything was gone. It didn't go to the trash. I checked the trash, the deleted emails are still there. How can I recover my inbox emails?
i want to receive emails from different companies that always end up in my junk mail and id like to receive them in my normal inbox i use apple email system but i have a gmail address
junk mail has been showing up in my mail box and not going to junk mail folder.Also some mail from known senders has been appearing in Junk Mail folder.I think that I have Preferences set up properly.
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails. However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I have much of the junk emails that come to me auto set to go to the Trash folder through Junk Filter settings. However, when I do a Command>A, to choose all the email in the Trash folder, and then click on Delete, the junk emails I never opened don't delete until I do it again or click on each one and then click Delete. All the other emails I moved there manually will disappear using the Command>A and Delete, just not those that went there by filter rules I set up.

I cannot send emails - for 2 1/2 days. smtp.att.yahoo server is not connecting. [url].. "Connection and login to server succeeded".[url].. "Connecting to server..." is NOT working. All emails I try to send go to the Outbox. I have read the discussions of this problem which took place in mid-June 2012
I have a Mac OS X 10.6.1 I have been having trouble with my MAC Junk mailbox. For a while it worked very well and I was able to review junk mail. All of a sudden, I am receiving no junk entries in my junk mail box. Preferences: Enable junk mail filtering, When junk arrives, move it to the junk mailbox, sender of message is in my my address book, sender of message is in my previous recipients, filter junk mail before applying my rules. What must I do to SEE received junk mail back in my junk mailbox?
I have Entrourage linked to my bigpond and orcon accounts. For some reason it has suddenly started not being able to send messages, but can still receive messages. I have not changed any of my settings so don't understand why it suddenly says "An operation on server timed out. The server may be busy...."
I can still send emails via my hotmail account though which is also set up through Entourage.
I have recently changed internet providers so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
I changed my settings Default SMTP from 25 to 587 as per response on your site to same problem in 2007.

My mail has stopped being able to receive email from yahoo. Everything is set up properly and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago. Mail seems to have problems connecting to the server.I can receive but not send. When I use the connectivity doctor it stays for ages trying to connect to the yahoo server, sometimes it connects after a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't connect at all. I have no problems sending or receiving emails from my ipod, other computers or yahoo itself, the only problem is with Mail.
I can not send emails with one of my accounts on my iMac. I am receiving emails, but not able to send. I am able to send and receive on the same account through my iPad and iPhone no problem.
When I send mails from my mac to a PC (outlook) the mail arrive with a different format or including the mail as an attached document. How can I send mails from mac mail to a PC outlook with the same format?
I'm tying to set up a new iMac with various email accounts. All have been set up fine however they will not send emails, only receive them. The settings are 100% the same as the iMac on the next desk and the iMac downstairs, all of which have these email addreses set up on them.
I have tried using differnet ports for the SMTP settings. But no luck.

In my Mail app on my MacBook Pro, I have an iCloud and a google account, but for some reason, the app won't let me send any emails out. I can receive and view all my emails, but if I try sending an email, it just throws the message to the outbox, but it never actually sends. If I log onto my gmail account through google on the internet, my emails will send just fine. But through the Mail app, absolutely no emails will send. I leave for college tomorrow..
