Sorry if this has been asked before but I would like to convert a PDF file to Word on my Macbook. Is the only option paying for Adobe Professional? I tried using Automator on the Mac but the Word doc was just lines with numbers on it.
I'm not a computer whiz (that's why I use mac ) here's my problem I need to convert an e-book that's in pdf format to word and I don't have adobe just preview since this book is 300+ pages I really don't want to do it one page at a time and there's also images, charts, tables, etc. in the book. Any ideas? am I screwed? or will I have to have adobe or something else?
I have a microsoft word document that I need to print out and this document is located on my notebook pc. Unfortunately, I can't seem to print this document on my notebook pc either wirelessly or through usb connection. I am able to print wirelessly/and or through usb connection on my imac computer. As I am completely new to the mac operating system, I was also wondering if I could send this word document as an attachment to my e-mail address, open up the document and then print it. Is this possible? I appreciate any feedback/info on how to resolve this issue.
I have AppleWorks on my Mac, and my new line of work (transcription) requires me to receive and send documents in MS Word format; can i just use the 'save as' function to convert the AW doc into a MS Word doc, or are there problems when doing so--such as the text not translating correctly, etc? Wondering if i'll need to buy MS Word for Mac, or if the "Save As" function is enough.
I am wondering if there is a built in pdf converter in Appleworks that I can't find, or do I have to download a converter? If so, I would like the link to a free one.
I know I have seen others offer to convert .pages files to .doc files here; can anyone help a brother out? I used the trial version of Pages to write my resume and now cannot open it.
I was wondering if there was a quick and easy way of converting a .pages or .doc or .docx to a html page. I cant seem to find anything in pages, although i may have just overlooked it. or if there is another program capable of doing something like that.
One of my editors had starting using OpenOffice and when he sends files to me they arrive in a zip that, when opened has some games and other things and one png file that is a thumbnail of the document, very tiny.
Is there a converter for OpenOffice docs that will open them in Pages (my preference) or Word ?
Any familiar with OpenOffice? Is it necessary to receive a zip file every time from him? He's technically inept and perhaps I can just tell him how to export the proper file.
Macbook Pro (2014) when I work with Microsoft office, Word, and use the "command v" keys the entire Word doc freezes and I need to reboot entire computer. What is this?
I start Microsoft Entourage, the software opens at least 17 windows and sometimes more. When I click on the upper section of a window in Safari, or Word, the window folds to the dock and when I click on a word, the entire word is selected.
I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?
i'm looking at moving over to the Mac in a couple days and i just need to know the best free Word Processor that can open .doc files. 99% of my docs made in Word are of the 97-2003 variety and not 2007's .docx.
My university wants us all to use RTF files. As I am sure you all know text edit sucks. But it automatically opens all my RTFs.I have to manually get word to open them which is a pain in the ass.How can I fix this so that all RTF's are automatically opened by WORD?I am still on the old version of word because I have to use ENDNOTE - which has no support for Word 2011 right now. I have a copy of 2011 sitting on my desk and I am itching to use it, but I will loose 200+ citations if I do.
Perhaps this has been answered before but nothing turned up in my search. I'm a Mac convert switching from MS XP, where I was using Word 2007. Over time, I compiled several special dictionaries. If I switch to Office 2008 for Mac will I be able to transfer these from Word 2007?
I understand that Word for Mac does not ahve VBA support, therefore no macros like in Word 2007. Does office 2008 (Word) have some sort of macro capability.
I have a MacBook. Last week I bought Microsoft Office for Mac. I would like to open documents sent in Word to be opened in Word. But my mac converts them to Pages.
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Microsoft Office for Mac
I have some Word Perfect (I think) files extenion .wps that I wanted to open but can't get NeoOffice or the default text editor on my mac to open them. Anyone know of work arounds? Unfortunately too the trial on the Office suit has expired so can't even get the trial version of Word to convert!
All of a sudden Word and Excel won't open any more. I just get a message that says "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
It doesn't have to be exactly to MP4 I am just trying to convert my MKV files that I created when I placed my DVD's on my macbook. I didn't realize they would make the movies 11gb's when I can convert to mp4 or m4v or avi at like 2-4gb. I normally use Handbrake, RipIt or DVDRemaster but none are having any success converting the MKV file.
I have an old PowerMac G5, that I would like to convert to the Intel chipset. Does anyone know what exactly I'll need? Is it a simple motherboard/cpu swap or will I have gut the whole thing out?
So I'm at the library and I got a really important file in my e-mail from my teacher with some really important information. The only problem is it's a .pages file and there are no macs around for miles. Can anyone convert this file for me? The library won't allow me to install any file converters on their computers so that won't be happening. If you are able to, send me your email address and I will forward the file, and you can just email it back to me.
When using MPEG Streamclip to convert a 4.47Gb DVD to MPEG4 & the finished MP4 file ends up at over 6gb!! Im using 100% quality , is that the reason? How do i control the size of the conversion ? Limit data rate to x Kbs - if so how do i work it out if the movie is 1hr.40mins? Does Streamclip convert a second for a second. if so i could calculate the size? Ok i now understand that i need to limit date rate and this calculates the end size..
I need a program to convert to .wmv. I have some videos that I need to upload to Youtube, and in .mov and .mp4 formats, their sound is either delayed or early. It's ridiculous!
I've been reading that .wmv is the best format to upload to youtube. Are there any free .mov to .wmv converters out there for Mac?
So I wanted to convert my macbook into a desktop. I dont mean taht I want to run in a clamshell mode but literally remove it from its casing and make it run. SO my first step was to remove the lcd from it. Which I did. Now I hooked it up to a TV that I have with a component cable but the picture on the tv is VERY bad. I dont know if its the cable or its just the computer itself. Is s-video better? The display properties only give me a choice to go upto 1024x768.
I'm trying to convert wmv to mp4 for my ipod touch, I've tried isquint and handbrake and I cannot seem to get the audio to work, after the conversion only the video works, but no audio..
