I don't know if this is the right thread, but it was the closest I could find.I have problems with my settings configuring the SMTP server on my iPhone 2G.So I was wondering if it's possible to delete all the email accounts on the iPhone, and the through MobileMe get my computers email accounts with settings and all email synced over to the iPhone?
View 6 RepliesThere are 554 threads under "mailboxes." There are 1000 under "mail export." There is a simple click under "import" for a mac. All I am trying to find out is HOW do I simply take all the mailboxes and settings from an old mac and get them on the new mac. 2 hrs and counting.
I've reinstalled 10.5.6 and I am manually dragging over my important files from old system (also 10.5.6).
Both systems have iTunes 8.0.2 installed.
I'm trying to import my EQ settings in iTunes (that I created) but have no luck.
I've read elsewhere I need the .itl file in the iTunes folder, but iTunes 8 doesn't seem to offer one.
Got my new MBP and would like to migrate my geektool settings over (many hours spent creating different desktops!

It seems that in this version of quicktime you export and the only options i get is how to format : for ipad/pod/phone or 480p which is not what I want I need to change the settings to make my video 480x360 and fast start for web.

I have QT Pro 7.6.6 installed on a system running 10.6.8. When I try to export a file as a Quicktime movie, the setting button doesn't do anything. I doubt anyone will be able to reproduce this, but here are the steps: - Open a file with quicktime 7 - Go to File > Export... - Change the Export dropdown menu to Movie to QuickTime Movie - Click Options… - Under Video click Settings… That's it. When I click Settings in that last step, the button changes color to indicate that I've click it, but nothing happens. The other buttons (filter, size, settings) on that same dialog box work. As I said, I don't believe anyone will be able to reproduce this, but what I'd like to know is are there any pref files or other files that I can trash to see if it helps? I've already deleted my quicktime preferences, and that did nothing.

In order for FCP to be able to log and transfer my video from my panasonic camcorder, I shoot on a camcorder setting that creates great video, but the files sizes are huge. Almost 1gb a minute. The video comes in 1920 x 1080, apple prores 422, 29.97 fps. I want to edit the footage and then export the timeline using a setting that will drastically reduce the file size.Â
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe only solution i've found that works is i have to re download itunes everytime to make the restore or upgrading my iphone work, i've tryed the recovery mode and the dfu mode itunes just sits there after the final loading process, so my question is is there a way i can get it working back to normal without having to re downloading itunes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled OSX (leopard) completely fresh, I have multiple Time Machine backups, and I do not want to restore my entire machine, I just want to pull out the files needed for iTunes to detect my iPhone(backups, and settings so the machine knows it can be connected to this machine) as being connected to the correct machine and not sync'd to another machine. I know how to browse the time machine backups I just need to know what files contain the preferences/logs/plist or whatever settings files that are needed to be replaced on my newly installed system.

As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
I purchased a new IMac Intel version which comes with RSS. I want to delete RSS from my Mailboxes. I live in Antigua and get no support from Mac and if I telephone I have to do it at international call rates. Mac have been totally useless in being able to tell me how to disconnect RSS. Does anyone know how to do it?

I have set a couple up and the correct mails go to the correct smart mailbox, but they also remain in my inbox. Also when i tried deleting them from the inbox they were also deleted from the smart mailbox.
Am I doing something wrong, or is that just how it works? I'm just trying to have them be automatically moved to the desired smart mailbox and not in inbox.
I have a G5 Duel 2GHz Power PC, Recently I was losing the time, date and wireless settings so I assumed as my machine is now 4 years old the PRAM battery was up for renewal.This has now been replaced but I'm still losing my settings, not all the time but randomly, sometimes I lose my wireless key sometimes I lose time and date sometimes both, this can happen daily.
I have removed the (New) Battery and checked the voltage and it reads 3.6 Volts, I haven't checked this under load though, so presuming that the battery is OK, what else could cause this.. a failing System Board?
I'd like to archive my mailboxes. I want to keep the email messages, but not in Mail. Is there a way to archive them outside of Mail? I'm using Tiger 10.4.11 on a G4 800.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi just started using Mail 4.2 on OS X 10.6.3. Every so often, I forward email that I receive at work on my Lotus Notes email account. Especially, my payroll information. I created a Smart Mailbox with the rule that looks for consistent string in the subject line. The original email is in the Inbox, but it does not appear in the Smart Mailbox I created.
I must be doing something wrong. I've googled, I've looked in Apple Support, I searched here. I don't see the answer to my question.
Any help is appreciated.

When I fired up the computer today and chose the "Mail" icon, after three years I got the "welcome, we'll help you set up you account." All my mailboxes have vanished.
I can "See" the Library/Mailboxes and the POP folders....how do I get these back so I can see the 1100 emails that are saved in the various folders?
PS If I try to import mailboxes, choose other and then go to the mbox files I get the message "there are no valid mbox files to import."
I had hooked up the computer with firewire and I had attempted the migration assistant but really had a problem finding the mail stuff without migrating a lot of old stuff I didn't want. So, I took the advise from another post and what I did last night was copy my mail to a flashdrive so I would have the accounts on the new MacBookpro. When I fired up the old computer today, I had to set up a new account and attempt to restore the folders. They show up but empty. There are five pop accounts and about 30 folders with various client info, etc.
I opened up my mail only to find that none of my mailboxes exist.

I have had my MacBook Pro now for a little over 2 yrs and I was very frustrated I could not change any print options in any application. I know that the Triangle button expands print options screen but when I do, I have only two print choices. It gave me Standard or Page Attributes in Office and any other App it is Standard and Last used settings. I can't print in Draft, Best or other setting because it does not even give them as a choice. I have two high end color photo printers, Canon i9900 and Epson Photo series and an old HP830 series. Any app I tried to print from and the same thing. I tried to capture the options on the choices but it would not grab that part of the image but here is my screen shot. I searched many forums and I still get the same answer so something else is not letting me change things so I figured best to ask since I am a 20 year win user now switched to Mac. Well right after I posted this question, my wife found the answer. I never though to check the application NAME in the print setting screen. Example, in the screenshot I am using Preview. I never thought to hit the up/down arrow next to the Preview label and wouldn't you know, that is were the quality and several other settings were. I felt pretty stupid that it took 2 years to figure this out but if I posted the answer maybe someone else will not have to take as long as I did to change their print quality!

Am i correct in assuming that if I restore it to the origianl factory settings then it will erase his settings. Also will i need anything erlse with the start up like serial numbers, auth codes etc?

I had a big file of mail called "archive" - when I go to create a new one, I get a message that a file named "archive" already exists.

I have Apple Lion 10.7.2, I use Apple mail, email accounts set up as IMAP accounts, sync'd with my IMAC and Air.My hosting company, 1and1 allows me to set up folder within IMAP so these are shown in MAIL on both macs. As i deal with each email I file in the relevent folder.However recently I have been finding that when I search MAIL for a particular email it doesnt find them, regardless if they are in the folder or in the main mailbox. Weird. I had this happy today, searching for an email I knew I had received as it had an attachment and had found the corresponding reply in sent. However the email which I had on this occassion stored into one of the these folders could not be located on searching?
Email comes into mailbox, I action or reply, I want to store it away from the main inbox so I only see ones that I need to deal with - however I must be able to see it on my macbook air, IPad so I didnt create a folder in MAIL, as this doesnt reciprocate on the other macs?

Creating mailboxes (iMap account) in the sidebar of Mail works fine and they are sorted alfhabetically by name, but mailboxes created from other computers in in Thunderbird doesn't get sorted when syncronising, but pops up in the bottom of the mailbox list in Mail (non alfhabetic). Is there away to get them listed correctly?
