View 7 RepliesFor some reason, I am not able to have my autofill activate when I try to type in addresses, etc. I am using the older version of Yahoo for my email and Safari 3.2.1 as my browser. The other browsers are Flock, Firefox and Netscape seem to work fine. I have tried upgrading to the new AT&T/Yahoo email, which seems to work, but I do not like the format that email client uses.
How do I delete old email addresses from Mac Mail that are no longer in the address book? I have deleted peoples old addresses from the address book application, yet when I start typing their name in the "to" line, all these old addresses still show up and get in the way of going right to their latest and current email address.

I am the default but I must hit it every once in a while and his email address is selected. When my recipient gets my message it's says it's from HIM. How can I delete his name so it isn't a choice in the FROM: email field? I looked in Mail preferences and his email address is NOT listen next to mine under Preferences>Accounts.
Please not this isn't happening in the TO: field. For that I'd just choose WINDOW>Previous Recipients>Delete.
I've been experiencing an issue with Mail app. Some of my contacts have changed their email addresses and I've made the appropriate changes in my Address Book. The problem I have is when I am typing in their name in Mail, it shows the old email address as an option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen adding to or editing Address Book or iCal very useful predictive autofill suggestions relating to each field would be displayed (i.e., if I typed "Au" in the country field for example, Australia would appear as a suggestion). This very time saving function has ceased to work. Any ideas on how to get it back up and running? I'm running OSX.6.4 on an mid 2008 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.8 GHz iMac.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Leopard (10.5.6) from Tiger, and the one problem I'm having is when I enter, say, the word "Facebook" in the URL bar. In the past, the "www" and ".com" would automatically be added. Now I'm sent to a Verizon search page. Autofill has been and remains checked and activated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated to 5, my address bar has been autofilling the title of the page I go to, for instance: Say I have been to Zappos and looked at a pair of converse, the title at the top of the window will say something like "Converse shoe etc." Well then say I've looked on [URL] at something before, and I want to go there again. If I start typing "converse" into the address bar, it wants to autfill the "Converse shoe etc." title and take me to the Zappos page instead of [URL] Is there a way to disable this? I liked it the way it was before, If im typing something in the address bar I only want ti to guess urls, not page titles.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I go to the address bar and start typing it will give me a list of sites from history/bookmarks to choose from. For example if I type www.e it will come up with every page I've visited beginning with E. Obviously I can clear my history, but how do I stop it displaying sites from my bookmarks? I use my Mac around a lot of people and don't want everyone seeing every other site I've visited.

The new itunes 8.1 added the autofill feature, but I don't want to use it, how do I hide the autofill region of the itunes window? It's eating up a bunch of space so that I can see a few less songs on each screen, it clutters up the interface, and I'm afraid I might accidentally click the autofill button. How do I hide the autofill view region in itunes?
View 7 Replies View RelatedBasically, for login pages (such as facebook) my mac used to auto complete my login name, much like it auto completes a url i have previously visited when i go to type it in. It started doing this spontaneously a couple of days ago. How do i turn it back on?

I have been using the same email account on my MacBook Air forEVER. I can log in to my email (I use google) via the web and I can still access my mail via my phone and iPad. I keep getting prompted for the password. I first get the "Mail cannot connect to the Google account, pls enter password". It will not accept my password. The connection Dr.'s connection status is that mail can access the internet (green dot at top of connection dr box). However, the status for my account shows that login failed and I need to check username and password. Internet Accounts, under system settings, recognizes this google account accepts the password.
I have checked, rechecked and triple checked the imap and the smtp. I have deleted the account and recreated the account. I have tried different ports. The only thing I notice is that it doesn't want to save any changes I make. Under the account information tab, everything looks correct except it doesn't show a password (no bullets indicating a secret word). I type in my correct password (and I know it is correct b/c I can login via a browser), go to the outgoing server screen, make sure that is correct and click back over to the account information tab to find that the password is again gone.
I am getting SO tired of doing all my email the hard way! Either on my mini or having to login via browser. I just want my apple mail app back up!!!
It keeps autofilling my work info and I want it to use my home info. I don't want to delete anything, but is there anyway to set a default or a level of priority?
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I backed up the library on my mac (running 10.4.11) and then discovered that the reply button does not work on the email, also the reply all and send button (forward button works, but then cant send). I read a thread on your site in 2005 and tried to follow the instructions, deleting the ps files relating to email and retyping in the server and password information but no good. In fact I was unclear exactly what the guy did to solve it. I should say that I can create a new account on the mac and the email works fine, so it might be some problem with the mail boxes but that is a guess.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy email password is not working. How do I reset it or what is the problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a number of email accounts. Including two name@mac.com accounts. My main @mac.com account has stopped working. i.e. it cannot retrive mail. The other @mac.com account is working just fine. The mail is there - if I look on the iCloud server page. But it will not download. I get the constant password incorrect message. Had this before (haven't we all) usually a quit and restart mail clears it. But this time no. This is also on two machines, my MacBook Pro and my iMac. Both running 10.7.3.I've deleted the password in accounts section - and re-entered it.
I've gone to iCloud and logged in with that password - so its correct.I've gone to Apple ID and confirmed that this is my password. So its correct. Now I'm stuck. It just refuses to download my mail for that account. All other accounts are downloading just fine.Any ideas of what I can do to try and clear this? Or what might be causing this. Started a couple of days ago.
I have two POP email accounts that have been working quite well on my MacBook for several months. About a week ago one of them stopped receiving emails. I have deleted the account and set it up again to no avail. If I check the account information it lists all the emails on the server. I can open it on my browser and the mail is being delivered just fine there - just not on my imail account. The two email accounts that I have are set up the same and only one is receiving mail.

My email on my mac for my .mac account has gone offline after I made the iCloud transfer. It is working fine on both my iPhone and iPad so the account is fine, but I can't get it online on my mac OSX 10.6.8.Â

I'm on 10.6.8 and chose the option to keep my email working after the iCloud move. It isn't working however. Do I need to take some additional steps to make it work again? I can't set up iCloud because I'm still on 10.6.8 and don't see it in the systems preferences.
