Jun 23, 2014I have upgraded my software to 10.9.3 and now I am having serious issues with all of my applications just freezing up with all of the applications saying Application Not Responding. I am using a iMac 2.8 GHz core, 4G Memory, 800 Mhz. I have as much additional memory installed as I can.

OS X :: Starting Up One Application Also Fires Up Safari?
Jun 2, 2010Somwhere along the way a strange thing started happening where when I start up an application (in my case POPmonitor) it not only starts up that applicaton but Safari starts up as well. And the strange thing is that I have webkit as my default browser and I don't use Safari anymore...
How does this happen and more importantly... how can I fix this?
OS X :: Safari Freezes After Which No Application Will Open
Jan 12, 2010The title says it all. Once in a while I'll be using Safari and it will freeze. The little error dialog that pops up normally offers a "Reopen the Application" option, but in these cases, it only says "Close" or "Report." If I try to open any application after this, nothing happens.
Has anyone had this problem? So far the only solution - a temporary one - is to restart the computer.
OS X :: Safari Can't Find Email Application?
Jan 23, 2010Whenever I want to mail a Link to an Internet page, I click on "File" and then choose "mail Link to this page". Mail then opens with the Link included and I then email it to whoever I want. Since yesterday however I noticed that I can no longer do this. Whenever I want to mail a Link I get the following message: "An email message can�t be created to send the Link because Safari can�t find an email application" I tried a restart of the computer, I reset Safari but nothing helps. The problem persists. I checked with Firefox and here I have no problem to mail Links. Only Safari does not seem to be able to recognize that Mail is installed or cannot connect to Mail?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Aug 29, 2010I get the following message when I'm in Safari and select "File>Mail Contents of This Page" or "Mail Link to This Page" even though I have Apples Mail programmed installed and use it all the time as my primary email client. I don't see any preferences in Safari where I have to make a selection for these menus options to work and they have worked in the past. They have just inexplicably stopped working.

Example: When attempting to select and upload a document from my computer to the google drive, the wheel starts to spin when attempting to choose a file. Apr 8, 2012I recently upgraded my Safari version to 5.1.5 (not sure what it was earlier) - post that update, many websites (eg Gmail) have become exceedingly slow. They load on the Mac and then the final page takes ages to show. The internet connection is fine (my iPad loads them perfectly still) and I've cleared the cache and reset Safari but to no avail.

Also the CPU of VLC and Webprocess gets to 100 %.

When I open Safari or load a page I get the spinning ball for as long as fifteen seconds. This is especially problematic when I initially open Safari in the morning after my iMac has been asleep for several hours.

Get the dreaded " This video is currently unavailable" tag.The video played fine before the Safari 5.1.7 update, and plays fine on my Air and on my iPod.No other updates or software changes - only the Safari update. So the Safari upgrade broke the part where the browser identifies itself to YouTube so I get the HTML feed instead of Flash?No Flash loaded on this iMac, ever.

I take care to close all the windows, hoping that they won't launch again next time I start the application, yet they do. I can't find a setting in the preferences or Settings to disable this behavior.

Safari :: Access To Folders And Bookmark Editor After Upgrade?
Feb 10, 2012I upgraded to Lion which seems to run fine. However, I no longer have access to my imported bookmarks that have several years worth of favorites. I also notice that I do not have access to the Bookmark editor that is supposed to open and allow me to move and arrange bookmarks. I click on show all bookmarks and I have the imported folder, but cannot access any of the bookmarks and the editor does not open. I used the disk utility to repair disk permissions, but this did not help.
