OS X :: Change Of Address - Change Safari Autofill?
Feb 5, 2010
Just wondering if you guys had a solution to safari auto-filling forms on websites with my old address - its quite annoying to have to delete all the old data to put my new address details in. Is there somewhere in the settings I can enter my new details and have them auto-fill?
I have an email address with an error in it and every time I start to enter an address into the "to" field it will autofill. How can I edit this address or delete it altogether? I know I can edit it in the "to" spot but then next time it pops up incorrectly again.
Ever since I updated to 5, my address bar has been autofilling the title of the page I go to, for instance: Say I have been to Zappos and looked at a pair of converse, the title at the top of the window will say something like "Converse shoe etc." Well then say I've looked on [URL] at something before, and I want to go there again. If I start typing "converse" into the address bar, it wants to autfill the "Converse shoe etc." title and take me to the Zappos page instead of [URL] Is there a way to disable this? I liked it the way it was before, If im typing something in the address bar I only want ti to guess urls, not page titles.
Everytime I go to the address bar and start typing it will give me a list of sites from history/bookmarks to choose from. For example if I type www.e it will come up with every page I've visited beginning with E. Obviously I can clear my history, but how do I stop it displaying sites from my bookmarks? I use my Mac around a lot of people and don't want everyone seeing every other site I've visited.
It keeps autofilling my work info and I want it to use my home info. I don't want to delete anything, but is there anyway to set a default or a level of priority?
A co-worker (who isn't English speaking) would like to change Safari so that when he enters a site name into the address bar (for example "ford") that Safari doesn't automatically add ".com" to the address. Instead he wants the browser to use ".ch" (Switzerland) as the default autocomplete in the address line. Anyone know how we can change that (maybe in Terminal)..?
I'm a British guy currently living in Germany, I would like to change my IP address to a British IP so i can watch English TV over the internet, as it won't let you unless your in the UK. My girlfriend also lives in Germany she uses software called Hide My IP on Windows, with the software she can just pick the location of her IP! The problem is its only a Windows application!
how to change the MAC address of the virtual machine under Fusion? I want WinXP installed on my virtual machine to have the same address (set by me) every time it is run.
I need to be able to change my IP address to watch my TV show on megavideo.. they ask me to wait 58 minutes every time I finish an episode of heroes. Is there a quick command I can just type in the terminal or another simple trick I can use?
I've read my license agreement and it would seem that I am allowed to use, sell, crush, alter, pour acid on, smack with a hammer, or eat my Macintosh, since I own it.
Based on the fact that I own my Mac, I have three questions for you:
How do I change my Ethernet MAC address?
How to I change my lmhostid ?
Is lmhostid simply always just a copy of the Ethernet MAC address, with the colons removed?
Is there a way to hide or change my ip address. I have moved to Mexico from the US and several websites including some shopping and my financial institution sites will not let me do things on the site because they see my ip is from outside the US.
Several sites often open in Spanish even google and it is a drag to constantly try and get these sites back in English.
I have nothing to hide I just want use the internet as if I was still in the US. Any help would be appreciated.
change my 'From' email address in Mail.app in Lion. I have my own SMTP credentails to use my own domain email address in gmail. I would love to use this same 'from' address in Mail.app, but I cannot work out how this works. Is this possible? I want to stop having my Gmail address being shown when I use Mail.app. Â
Ideally, this would also work in the Mail app in iOS. Â
I know that I cannot use my own domain email in iCloud, so for now I must continue to use Gmail.Â
iTunes has one of my old email addresses in my profile. How do I update that to be my current e-mail address?
Fo example my email and apple id are [url].. but my profile has email [url]... in it - an old email I no longer have access to.
Also - i've used 3 different email addresses since I bought my first iPhone. Everytime I update apps on it asks me for a password for one of those 3 email addresses (Apple IDs) - a different one everytime - and it's been so long since I closed those old ones i'm having a hard time remembering the passwords - I guess - because half the time it fails. It would be nice if there was some way to say everything on this phone belongs to the current apple ID.
When I added contacts in my address book on my computer I ticked the "company" button... now I want to change ALL my contacts in the address book at once to not be known as "company".... I have 1600 contacts and do not want to do them one at a time!
I'm trying to redo the ridiculous naming system for our Macs in our office. I've changed the Computer name to "MP-01" and the local hostname to "MP-01.local" correctly. However when selecting the screen sharing option, i get the following:
Screen Sharing: On
Other users can access your computer at [URL] or browse for MP-01.
The domain is our personal domain and that looks fine. But the employee name that precedes it, I can't find where to change that. The weird thing is it wasn't the name of the Computer before I changed it, nor is it an employee that has ever used this machine.
I changed the email address for my apple id online using "Manage Your Account." I changed it as well on my iPhone. How do I change the apple id on my mac? I've gone into system preferences - I cloud but can't see how to change my apple id.
Not sure if this is a Safari issue or Lion, but somehow, I have click on the toolbar and changed an original setting which means the URL displayed in the address bar does not reflect the pages I am navigating to. It comes up with the homepage and unless I manually type something new in, it stays the same URL. Even in google when I am changing webistes, etc. it still shows the same address- either homepage address or what I typed,
I'm getting up there in age, lol, and I'd like to change my e-mail address (that I made when I was 15) to something more professional. I've been up and down through mac.com and other blog websites, and I can't find anything on the subject of either opening a new account and closing my current one, or just simply changing my current one.
