Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find a simple movie editor ( not expensive ) and my imovie is from 2008 which lacks the slow motion effect I need. I simply just wanted to purchase the most recent imovie but it said I had to have mac OSX 10.7.4 or higher... This is really frustrating. I have a project at school and all I need is to simply slow down my movie!

So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.

I want to know if there is way to take Video TS files and convert them straight into a .DV file so they can be edited in iMovie.
My situation is that I use a program like Mac the Ripper to extract a DVD into the Audio and Video TS folders. My step 2 is to use Handbrake to convert it to MPEG and then MPEG-Streamclip to convert it to .DV
The problem I am having is that while this process works, the final product video quality is slightly off. I know that the loss is either in Handbrake or the MPEG-Streamclip program. How can I go straight to DV, either through a program or straight from the DVD?
Some one sent my a BTS file. I need to convert it so I can upload it into I movie.

I am trying to import some videos from my recent trip to Costa Rica. When I try to play the videos I receive this message: The document “M2U00887.MPG” could not be opened.required codec isn't available. Is there any way to convert these/get them into iMovie? They are all MPEG format.I typically make videos from my trips - these CD's were burned for me by the surf school so I am not used to importing this way. I have tried some of the suggestions regarding VPI and was able to see the movies but not get them into iMovie.

Having difficulty with a .ram file. I want to convert it to use with Quicktime. I also have realised however that my pupil for a lesson (the file is for language-lesson) does not have a Mac anyway, so maybe she won't have Quicktime. I can ask her to download the latter then. how can I hear the soundfile and make it compatible with Quicktime?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have home movies which seem to all be in mpeg2 format. I would like to open them in imovie to edit and burn new dvds. At an Apple store I was told I needed QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback to read the mpeg2 format. Under the FAQs for MPEG-2 Playback, it says to export to mpeg4 (?) I need to use QuickTime Pro.
My question is, do I need both QuickTime Pro and MPEG-2 Playback? I don't want to plunk down $50 unnecessarily. How do these work together to get my mpeg2 files into imovie? Is there an easier route to do this?
I have a very old purple iMac, circa 2000, with an old version of iMovie. I copied the files onto a USB and tried to open/import them onto my new Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz iMac. However my new iMac with iMovie '09 won't recognise the files when I try to import them. They stay greyed, not allowing me to import them.

I can't export a certain project to QuickTime in iMovie, but I can export it to other formats. The iMovie error message is: The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Error = -5000)
What's strange is that I was exporting this project to QuickTime yesterday, made some changes and tried to export again, and no luck? Yet it'll export to mv4 etc. I repaired permissions etc, and still no luck. I'm assuming it's related to permissions, but I have no idea where to start.
i searched for this, but i didnt get anything useful...imovie doesnt open quicktime movies...but i need a software that can convert a QUICKTIME MOVIE to mp4 or youtube formats.
