View 1 Replies View RelatedI just finished a project in FCP. I exported it in QT format, and then created an iDVD project with it. Looks great. I've burend several DVD's, everything is fine. The movie file is 14.2 GB in size. Now, I need to drag the .mov file to a flash drive or SDHC card go I can give it to someone to play on their laptop. For some reason, I am getting a "File too large for volume's format" error no matter what I do. I have tried a 16GB USB flash drive, a 32GB SDHC card, and even a blank DVD. I ge the same error everytime. Is it a FAT32 limitation, or what am I missing here? How can I distribute this on flash media?Â

It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.
My new DVD burner will play CDs and DVDs and burn CDs, but will not burn DVDs through the finder. Will getting TOAST definitely enable me to burn DVDs? I don't really need it otherwise and I would rather not buy it unless it will definitely enable me to burn DVDs.

I am trying to back up some DVD is I OWN.I used MTR to get the Video_TS folder on my HD.I have been trying to get Burn to create a disk that will work on my stand alone DVD player (which supposedly supports DVD -/+R and RW well as DivX).WHICH TYPE OF DISK DO I TELL BURN TO CREATE? I've been trying to burn on to dual layer disk i.e 8.5 GB.Video_TS foldeer is 7 GBIf I chose the DATA TAB tell Burn to create a "DVD-video disk" I get a disk that my computer can play in the DVD App that functions like a DVD, BUT my stand alone DVD player won't recognise it. (tells me its a DATA disk).

Have a free to distribute educational DVD (preparation for a test) that I need to make a copy of for a friend. Downloaded MacTheRipper and copy the DVD. Next I downloaded a freeware program called Burn that looks simple and is all I need. However I when I try to burn I get an error "Failed: There was a problem authoring the DVD" Also I tried to use the burn to a data DVD mode and it wrote the data to the DVD (you can physically see it's there) but when it got to finalize I got the same error message and you can't read the DVD contents. I have a new Mac Pro running 10.5.3 and the DVD drive is OEM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D.

I keep getting an error saying the data I'm trying to burn is over 4 gb's and too big for my blank disc. How's that possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

I edited a screen recording video (shot with QuickTime) with iMovie. Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format. I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple.The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. (now updating to 10.7.3), but it already did this before I had OSX Lion installed.If I search for new updates it doesn't come up with an update for QuickTime.Any other player works (although VLC's the only one I tried so far).

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 on my MBP.
I cant stream quicktime videos in safari. Every time I go to a video for example on apple.com and try to watch an iPod or Mac advert it will just tells me quicktime is required, free download. I've tried downloading quicktime 7 again but then it says that it cannot be installed because quicktime X is already installed, go to software update to install older version. Software update has no updates for me. I'm stuck, has anyone else had this problem?
I do have Quicktime X installed but it still wont let me view the videos.
I did a quick search but couldn't find any info on this.
Quicktime Observation
Before upgrading my Mac mini to 10.6, I had installed Quicktime Pro 7. I had set up Quicktime 7 Pro to be the default app to open my .m4v handbrake video files rather than iTunes.
I just was testing some movies that I encoded last night before the 10.6 upgrade, which I did this morning.
Double clicking the .m4v file opened it in Quicktime 7 not Quicktime X. I looked in the applications folder to see if Quicktime 7 was still there but it wasn't. A quick Spotlight search and I found that Quicktime 7 (at least the Pro version) was moved to the utilities folder.
Conclusion: If you do a 10.6 upgrade install, and you have Quicktime 7 Pro, you don't have to install it from the 10.6 disc, it's just been moved to your utilities folder.
I've researched this for a few hours today. he instructions I find are not working. A friend gave me a workout video and i want to make a copy. How do you do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I began making a backup of half my dvd collection (since the other half was stolen) and I used mac the ripper to rip the files to my harddrives, but now I am stuck on how to burn it back to dvd. I was told handbrake does the job but I see no option on here to burn it back to a regular dvd. Another post I read said use Roxio but I wanted to get some clarification before I drop $80 on roxio. To clarify these are DVDs I purchased and I used to make backup copies in case of scratches etc and I stopped (regrettably) until the other night when half of my movies (about 200) went missing. Now I will be backing up the other half and sending them to my house in case this ever happens again.

I tried twice using Apple Finder burn, and the 3rd time using Toast. All failed. I then tried burning a DVD using Toast burning different files without problem.  Could there be a problem with the files that is not allowing them to be burned to a CD?Â
