I noticed ever since I downloaded "carbonite" It's been acting like this. It's slow and that little loading symbol over the cursor appears a lot. Could my hard drive
be failing or is it just something like I have too much stuff on my memory? I downloaded carbonite for crap just like this in case my hard drive crashes or something that I don't need. But the program seems like pretty much garbage anyway since it didn't even backup anything important and it seems like it doesn't even have enough storage or memory. It also doesn't even backup external files so it's kinda useless. Especially if this is the reason my Macbook Pro has been running slow.
Well anyway, this is all of the information I have. I'm going to back up everything on a floppy disk or something of that nature ASAP because my lively hood is on this laptop. I need to protect all my files and external files anyway I can. Is Timemachine any good
I have a message that pops up and disappears before I can get a chance to read it. I figured it may be an issue with an application since MS office 11 is installed and was running at the times also, before a reminder pops up a message appears. I fear there may be a potential issue with the OS or an application.

I have deleted some files and folders and moved them to (Trash). I'm going to remove them from Trash but error code 36 appears.please help me to fix this error. I am using Quicktime Player 10.1 on my MacBook Pro running Lion. I need to be able to adjust the brightness, contrast, colour and speed of the movie file which is palying as a loop. There are no AV controls in 10.1 is there a way round this? I wondered about using Dark Adapted software to correct the visual elements. Or is there another software which might do this or an alternative software to Quicktime to play movies and adjust visual appearance. It is being used as part of an art installation and video work and this type of control is the best option for me. Is it possible to run an earlier version of Quicktime which has the AV controls if I partition my drive and install Leopard or Snow Leopard so that I can run these files as required on my laptop when used within the installation. If I can partition the drive, is it possible to partition the driive without losing eevrything which is currently running on my machine?

I have a few .wma movie files that I have created in (the horrible) "Windows Live Movie maker".
I wanted to be able to play these files on my iTunes, so I foolishly purchased QuickTime Pro after reading the description. "QuickTime 7 Pro can convert your media to different formats, so you can watch a movie or video on your iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV..". But it refuses to open any .wma files so that I can convert them. I keep getting the error message #2048. I read somewhere that installing new codecs might help...?

As some of you may already know, I recently switched to the mac platform. One of my main reasons for switching was the fact that I couldn't see more than 50 percent of the graphics used by my colleagues and mentors in case presentations due to the dreaded "quicktime tiff decompressor" issues present in Windows. After numerous efforts of trying to resolve this issue on the Mac end, I gave up and ended up getting a Mac, to hopefully not experience the same issue. Obviously, I have realized that the mac has a lot more to offer, in the process.
However, here is my problem - I am getting the following error "Quicktime or a TIFF decompressor is needed to view this image" in Powerpoint 2008 in Mac OS X. I didn't expect this at all, and I was hoping that there may be a fix to it. I tried copying and pasting the image into word and that doesn't resolve the problem either. I tried opening up the presentation in Keynote 2009 but that doesn't seem to load these graphics either. Is there any photo application that I can use to test the picture? If any of you know how to resolve this issue, I will be very grateful for your advice. Again, I am new to the Mac OS platform so I would appreciate if your solutions included "baby steps"

Our iMac running OS X 10.5.8 has several problems, some of which may be related.
1. The hard disk is close to full. I am not sure this is the root problem. I would like to either find junk files that I can delete (sort of like disk cleanup in Windows) or copy some old, but possibly still useful, files to a CD or an external hard drive, but I have not been able to do so.
2. I cannot connect via WiFi to my home LAN. If I try to connect, I get an "invalid password" error message, even though I am using the same password that other devices are using to connect successfully.
3. I cannot open iTunes because an unknown error occurs (13014).
The problems started when we tried syncing an iPad and the process would not stop. Then there was a temporary power outage.
We have also recently tried adding a Time Capsule to our home network. I am not sure that it is configured properly. I want to continue to use our older router for WiFi but use the Time Capsule for backing up Macs.

iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro with iTunes. Both are current with software updates as of 12/11/2014 When running sync or backup I get an error message that the iPhone has disconnected. Both are on the same network and are connected together with a USB cable. Last successful backup was prior to iTunes upgrade on 12/9. Today I successfully backed up my iPhone to a windows machine with the latest version of iTunes, no problems. Seems the Mac version is the issue not the iPhone. I have an iBook G4 that's running Tiger 10.4.11 and the most recent version of Safari and just recently when I try to open up some web pages I get the error message "Safari can't open the page "http://whateverthewebaddressis" because it can't find the server". It will open some pages, some of the time and then a few minutes later if I try to open it again it will give me the error message. It is not a problem with my internet, as I also have a new iMac running leopard and Safari has never had a problem opening the same pages at the same time.

We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.
