Feb 12, 2012I have had none stop issues since installing lion and I desperately need someone's help. Since the installation my imac constantly loses connection with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse, random horizontal lines appear in Safari, and computer freezes whenever I open more than 3 programs.

Mar 31, 2012Can I really not install Lion because my mac mini only has 1GB of RAM? This is very disappointing. I've just got myself an iPhone 4S, so effectively I can't use any of the iCloud features because my mac mini can't run Lion. And apparently there is no alternative.

May 9, 2012So i have a Mid 2010 iMac 27" - 2.93 Ghz. i7, 16 GB, with a 2 TB Drive, and 10.7.3 running on it. About a month ago, my Superdirve broke, and i cant install anything. As i need my Computer due to work, i bouth an Asus BD + DVD + CD - Combo-Drive-thingy, which works perfectly fine, BUT now i wanted to install Win8 Consumer Preview over my Win7.
Firstly i couldnt, because you cant do that with the Installer on 32 bit, to install 64 bit Then i tried it via Bootcamp, so i had to delete the old drive. Then i wanted to make a new one via the Bootcamp Assistent, downloaded the Drivers, burnt them, and put the Win8 DVD in the Asus Drive. Then it told me to put the Windows DVD in, because he didnt recognise it from the Asus Drive. But i cant, because the Superdrive is broken. So i rebooted, and i got into the Windows Install Thingy, but aswell this didnt recognise the DVD because the Drive is only connected via
2 USB Ports. So next, i made a Win8 Install USB-Flashdrive, and this should work perfectly fine normally, but just aswell, it didnt recognise it. So then i installed rEFIt, and tried to get to the installer with that, somehow. no chance.

Aug 23, 2014I just received my new Mac pro at work and is trying to install Mountain Lion as the OS instead of Mavericks but it seems impossible. Every time I try to boot up on a bootable 10.8 installation drive I get the no entry sign. I even cloned my old MacPro and tried to boot from the external drive, I still get the no entry sign.
I tried booting from a thunderbolt, USB and even super drive, with no luck.
I need to install 10.8 because Mavericks doesn't work with Active Directory in my company, it just hangs the system every time, we've tried many different ways to fix this but it just seems to get worst.
Any way I can downgrade a 2013 Mac Pro to 10.8?

IMac :: Unable To Install Clean Snow Leopard / Instructions To Install On Internal Drive?
Dec 20, 2009The internal hard drive on my early 2009 iMac is being replaced but I have to reinstall Snow Leopard myself.I did search in MRoogle and at Apple and cannot seem to find instructions on how to perform a clean Snow Leopard install on an iMac internal HD.
Can I do this? And if so how? Or do you think I should try and install Leopard on the existing Hd in the iMac? I still have these discs but have to get the SL applications install disc out of my drive (it's stuck and the iMac won't boot past the blue screen).

Nov 4, 2008i have tried to re-install leopard into my macbook but it is just all a mess. i inserted leopard cd (original copy) into macbook to do a clean install to my new(to me) used macbook. the computer message after choosing language says "cannot install mac osx on this computer".
1. used disk utility to reapair disk...did no work
2. erased hd..still did not work.
3. made partition to install from external hd...now just made a total mess with computer.
4.i try to start computer from dvd drive with original leopard cd...still does not work. says cannot install mac osx to this computer...
i have macbook intel core duo 1 gig ram and enough memory.
please help i dont know what to do!!!!!

Apr 12, 2012Ever since I downloaded iplayer - my mac has been running slow. I have followed a few tips to remove it and all other related files - but it still runs low (spinning wheel of death) and now pdf's dont download correctly (I guess I have deleted too much).
My ideal would be to start from scrach - although I want to keep my itunes and iphotos files as well as my documents. Is there a way to reload back to factory settings then add selected programs and folders from timemachine? I am in the process of timemachine backing up everything now.

When I try to install it it starts the setup and then tells me that an error occurred and there is an incompatible payload or something along that line. What do I need to do to fix it. Updates from Apple or from Microsoft Office will not get to the end of the process. It doesn't matter if I try via Software Update or directly from the Apple site. What happens it that the process goes up to the point I click "install" (after choosing the volume - which is the main HD), then nothing happens - no dialog box, nothing. I can click "install" a hundred times (the button remains available). Then I have to quit the installation process.

I formatted one of my FAT32 partitions and tried to install Mac OS X in this partition.The installation went smoothly until I found the error below The installer could not install some files in "/Volumes/Untitled".Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
I researched in the internet for a solution to this and I found out that Mac OS X is installed in a HFS + journaled partition.I reformatted my partition to HFS+ and tried to re-install the Mac OS X.During installation,the installation setup could only detect my NTFS and FAT32 partitions.The HFS partitions was not in the selection list.
