May 10, 2012I dont know why, but update manager doesnt show the 10.7.4 update for me, how come?
im on 10.7.3 mac mini, nothing special...

Mar 9, 2010I m newer here then sorry if I asked some dumb things, because this is my first mac.When I try to see a page (my wife?s blog in blogspot) in Safari, the pictures aren?t displayed.
I tryed with Safari, Firefox and Chrome, but the result is the same.
I friend of mine tryed in his Macbook and it?s OK.
I tryed in a PC, and it?s OK.
I tryed others site and it?s OK, the problem appears only in my mac and only on blogspot sites.After bought the Mac I installed Snow Leopard, IWork, Office and Flash, but these are the same programs that are running on my friend 's mac.

Aug 16, 2010alright I'm a new mac user so i hope i dont get too much hate but i have a weird problem (i guess) when installing apps. When i drag the app to the applications folder then drag it to my dock, it shows the icon fine on the dock, but in the applications stack in my dock it doesnt. ill post a picture to show what i mean.

Mar 23, 2012I received my new iMac 27" yesterday and as it has Lion pre-installed I ran Software Update to check.It did this OK, but then my second attempt it had an issue with one of the files and wont complete.Since then when I clcik install items it minimises to the doc, but no sign of progress and does nothing (it seems) How can I get this to work properly again as it should?

Jul 29, 2010Yesterday Apple released Safari 5.0.1 and Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0, but Software Update on my Mac makes me able to download only the first one (Safari 5.0.1) - which I did. Why can't it find the Multi-Touch Trackpad Update?

Sure, I can download it manually, BUT it makes me really annoyed if something on my Mac works not as good as it should.

May 10, 2012Started the 10.7.4 install, and it halted. Turned my Mac off, started it back up, and apparently the 10.7.4 update didn't install, but it has caused the Mail function to not work AT ALL - I get a long error report that is auto sent to Apple.
I downloaded Lion from the Apple store, but have my Snow Leopard disk. How do I go about re-installing Mail?

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Software Update Can't Connect To The Update Server
Mar 24, 2012"Software Update can't connect to the Update Server" - so I can't even check to see if updates are available.This has been going on for sometime. For a while if I created a new admin account and used that it would work, but not today.Tried creating a new admin account but to no avail.
I clcik on the Apple Icon, (top left hand side of screen), click on SOFTWARE UPDATE, it runs for a split second, then: [URL]after which I check my internet connect to see that it's fine. (And I attempt to run SU with nothing else using the internet). [URL] I've checked the forum and found a few people with the same problem. I've tried deleting PLISTs and using 008.008.008.008 DNS address, [URL], but still cannot get it to work. I still have my old G4 Power running OS 10.5.8 connected to the same modem (Netcomm NB6PLus4w Modem which has 4 ports) as my Mac Mini, and it runs Software Update without any issues. So it's not my internet connection and it's not the Apple server, so it's something about the Mac Mini that's not right.

Aug 21, 2010I just got an iomega home media network hdd (1tb) and i wanted to back up my macbook pro tht runs on OS X (10.6)
i installed their retrospect (6.1) software and conected the drive with the lan cable provieded by iomega and i did evrything they told me, but the drive doesnt not mount.
my computer doesnot detect the dive and a red light flashes on the drive in between the blue light (which is the only light tht should flash)

Oct 12, 2010i have a 13" mbp with snowleopard.
some 15 days ago, my trackpad could do all gestures just fine but it couldn't click.
i have the "touch to click" option turned off.
so, after pressing down on the trackpad like 10 times, it could only register one click.
as my warranty was valid back then, i gave my laptop to the service guy. he opened my laptop up, checked the trackpad and said it was fine and he told me that it must be a software problem.
so i erased the hdd and installed leopard and the problem was solved.
whats wrong with my laptop ??
(i checked verified my disk and disk permissions, they're all fine)
OS X :: Mac OS Doesnt Eject HDD Properly?
Dec 27, 2010this is starting to irritate now. apparently macs are supposed to be able to read ntfs formatted disks.
now although mine is able to do so, i find it strange that when i eject the disk its unable to do so. and so i end up pulling the usb cable to exit it. of course this is an improper exit and i am sure harms the drive in some way.
after mounting the drive, i normally see 2 icons - one has the drive letter and contains all the data, and the other shows the setup for the software installation in windows. now whenever i highlight both these and drag them to the trash can / right click to exit, only the drive icon disappears and within a second or two the software installation icon reappears and the drive does not shut down as it should.
so, is there some way to eject the drive properly?

I get this message everytime I turn on my MacBook Air and cannot get past it.
When i turn the power off, it hang for quite a long time and this screen appears,

Before this happened, i went on skype and firefox. But then it hanged, so i had to hold the power button to shut it down. I meant to restart it back but then i couldnt. This problem appears.
Just before it happened, i dont have any start up application. But before, they were adium, skype and transmission. And my 'HUAWEI mobile connect broadband internet' connect automatically. and i dont use time machine.

"A network error has occurred. Check your Internet connection, and then try again."
This has been happening for over a week now. Looking at the Console I get the error:

I've verified and repiared disk permissions a couple of times and restarted the system with no success.

Software :: Microphone Jack Doesnt Fit In My G4?
Jan 15, 2009so i bought my dad a web cam for christmas, its said it works with mac g4 so i thought everything would be fine but when he tried it today he found that the jack doesnt fit in the microphone port but it fitted perfectly in the head phone port. Also it fitted fine in the microphone port of his G3 but he doesnt use it so thats no help but what im trying to figure out is, have the ports changed size between the G3 and G4. and if so is there a adapter that i can buy? or is there a web cam that i can buy that will work with it?

I'd say almost half the time when i put my imac to sleep it doesnt wake up no matter how many keys i press and it just stays stuck on a black screen. I know that when you put the computer to sleep you hear absolutely no noise however in this case i hear a slight fan noise despite it 'sleeping'. When this happens i always have to use the on/off button to do a reset. What seems to be the issue here??

I type text in and it just doesnt find the files I am looking for. I can browse to them and locate them but search wont find them.
Is there some way i need to be re-indexing my HD from time to time? I would expect this for spotlight but I thought the finder search was different...

I know I didnt spill anything on it, because this happened on my sisters account on the computer, while mine still worked. Now mine doesnt work. I like using it, so Id like to gget it to work again.
When I try using the 10 numbers and the decimal on the keypad (everything else in that section of the keyboard works), the computer freezes, and i have to shut down.
Oh, and I recently started using the program Blender, and I noticed this problem during that program, so it might have something to do with that.
Software :: Airport Doesnt Let My Enter Password?
Jul 23, 2009I have a 1GHz, 12inch powerbook running OSX 13.9 and I have a problem where my airport connection wont allow me to connect to my wireless router.
I can see the connection in my airport but the 'OK' button in the dialogue box to enter the password is greyed out—reminds me of a criticism Steve Wozniak has of OSX where options in the GUI are greyed out but without any explanation of why, which gives you no chance of solving the problem or accessing the option. How frustrating.
The wireless connection had been working fine, but what would happen is once a week or so this problem would happen. Unplugging the router and plugging it back in would fix the problem. But that has failed to fix it over the last couple of days.
The wireless security is WPA personal, the router is a Belkin and the broadband modem is a Dynalink if that helps at all.
(please excuse the use of my, instead of me in the threads topic - ha)
