I'm trying to upload a Starcraft 2 tutorial video to youtube that was in .swf format, youtube doesn't like this though and it failed to upload.
Can anyone suggest a good .swf to (whatever format youtube likes) encoder or a different video recorder I can use to re-record the video in a friendlier format.
My webcam dont work when I started flash media live encoder. I try connect other webcam and dont have success.I try update combo 10.7.3 again but dont work again.

I've been trying several different methods to download a file through Applescript. I've looked at different sites/discussions and I've tried to use curl, wget, and some other ways, however I still can't get it to download the file. It'll either just not download, or no URL specified. [code]
I was wondering if there is a good batch encoding program for videos. I am planning on encoding all of my movies to the new Apple TV format in preparation for the launch of it.
I know handbrake can queue files, but you have to add them one-by-one.
Are there any applications where I can just select all of my videos and then select Apple TV format and just let it run for a week or so to encode them all?
I am excited waiting for my new Canon 7D and plan to be shooting a lot of 720P 60FPS videos. I can see the need to be converting them in different formats to publish on Youtube and Vimeo.
I got a Mac Pro 1,1 9GB Mem, Snow Leopard with ATI 4890 and was wondering if the ATI 4890 would be doing the re-encoding job better then the ElGato Turbo.264 HD - H.264 Encoder.
I made the code below to use together with another 2 codes. One that mounts a samba share and another that runs rsync with specific parameters. The script below runs after rsync complete its task.
The 3 codes me to test my HTML/CSS/PHP/Javascript code changes. This code works but I have to repeat it to each browser/app I want and a 10 lines script becomes 40 lines (Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari). Is there a more elegant way to do that? I've tried to use an array/list but didn't work.Â

I installed a droploet into Finder, now I can't get rid of it. Scoured the internet and no one says how to remove them, only add them. What's the method for getting rid of them?
I'm trying to make some DVDs using iDVD. I want to play The Dark Knight and Benders Big Game at other locations. Anyways, I'm trying to make separate discs, not one disc for both movies. When I try to drag the file to iDVD, it says that the file is too big and to play with encoder settings. The encoder settings are already at best performance. In Finder, the file is 808MB, yet iDVD claims it is 8.08GB. I know for a fact that the file is 808mb, not 8.08GB. The file was .avi, so I converted it to .divx, and this still didn't fix it. I also tried the other movie which is .mp4, and I had the same problem.
I'm using a PC with Windows XP. I'm a private developer. I've written a project in Java and wish to deploy it to other people using email. I've written an Install program (the Main-Class) and successfully packed this in a jar file with the project class files and some data files all as described in the deployment trail in the Java Tutorials. A recipient with a Mac with OS X downloads the jar file and runs it to install the project class files and some data files. The install program then writes an Applescript file (Vocab.scpt shown below) on the Desktop to make starting my downloaded program easier but it doesn't seem to work and I think it may be because the script file is not "executable". Could this be the case? If so, how could I change my install program to make the script file executable or alternatively use some other system to start the downloaded program?
Vocab.scpt:-
# Script to start: Vocab Version: 1.0.0
do shell script "cd /Applications/Vocab; Java Vocab"
Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to experiment with this problem and although I have spent some days on and off trying to find an answer in the mass of information available on Apple's website I can only find small clues here and there to answer my problem (which I would have thought was quite a common one). In Windows a batch file (eg. Vocab.bat) is automatically executable.
I have a large dataset in Excel that I have to do a multiple find/replace in (changing USPS state abbreviations to their full names). In searching the Microsoft boards--I was directed to use Applescript, and even the documented help with Excel was recommeding this. Unfortunately, there wasn't much help potinting me in the specific direction I needed.
How would I convert a string like 12:34 to an Applescript timestamp? I'd like to be able to add/subtract minutes to/from such items; i.e., to be able to use 12:34 + 6 minutes, for example.

So I downloaded the wrong Airplane Mode program for my operating system and I now have AppleScript Error message. It will not allow me to quit the program. Also, once that happens how do I remove the program from the computer?
Did OS X 10.7 do away with the ability to save Applescripts as run-only? I just noticed that all my scripts compiled and saved previously as "run only" now have the Rosetta prohibitory symbol on them.Is there a work-around for saving Applescripts as run-only? I prefer to open Applescript, run the compiled script in the background, then quit.
I'm thinking about learning Applescript so that I can write routine to run in an Excel workbook. Would the routine run when that Excel workbook is opened on a PC?
I am relatively new to the whole Apple and iMac community. I am slowly learning though. Any way, my question is: I have a script that causes Safari to open a new window every time I click the icon on the dock instead of opening the Safari window that may already be opened and running in the background. What I cant figure out is how to make my Applescript an application represented by an icon on the dock, and when i click the icon, it just runs with no editor opening or running in the background or ne thing like that. I tried making the script an app by putting a '.app' suffix, but when i tried to run it afterward I got "You cannot open that application NewWindowScript because the Classic environment is no long supported."
I often have a small chat program running, I keep it in the bottom right corner of my screen. It's kind of a stupid application, so it never pops up above active windows for an update, so I keep it uncovered - this means all my windows have to be shrunk to fit, and to not hide it.
Now, because I'm such an OCD person, I like to have a perfect, 1px border between applications, and I like things to be neat and orderly, etc. That means there's a VERY specific place all my firefox windows go. When i open a new one, however, they can be in any shape, size, etc. For a while, I had a bookmarklet with a keyword, I would just type "chatsize" into the URL bar, and the window would automatically position itself correctly. The problem with this is the fact that it, for some reason, would ignore the 4 leftmost pixels of the entire screen, and would not line up with the edge. Moving it 4 pixels isn't such a big deal, but it gets kind of annoying. No matter what I tried javascripting into the URL bar, it never worked.
I came up with a solution: Applescript, I could make the window go to the perfect spot and be the perfect size, but now, I have another problem: I can't launch the applescript from the URL bar. I want to be able to type in "chatsize" to the URL bar, and have it work perfectly, but whenever I change the bookmark to the applescript's location on my hard drive, it attempts to download it. Does anybody have any clue how to launch the application from the URL bar?
i HATE stacks with a passion. i used to use the dock for shortcuts to folders so much, and frankly stacks just ruins it. is there any way to turn it off with terminal or applescript or anything?
I've found (and somewhat modified) an AppleScript to sync a research folder on my MacBook with a directory on my FTP server so I can have access here and at the office to an exact close of a file system (as well as backup remotely).
i would like to use either automator or applescript to get attachments from certain emails i get in mail that have the subject line that contains "Database Backup" then according to the first part of the subject to save the attachment into a folder with that name.
I seem to have an AppleScript that is hanging, and I can't figure out how to quit it. I tried the force quit, but it doesn't appear in the list of applications. It was activated when I was compressing a pdf using the print command yesterday. I let it go overnight, but the Applescript icon is still spinning in the uppertoolbar (near my battery indicator etc). If I move my mouse over it I just get a spinning beach ball. Thanks all!
I am looking for an Applescript that will add file extensions to a bunch of files. Specifically .jpg to a bunch of pictures. I thought I had it in one of the forums but when you click on the link Attached Files File Type: zip add to file names.scpt.zip (7.6 KB, 227 views) you get a blank screen and the tab says "attachment.php" and nothing happens. Is there a script somewhere?
I need to have the built in camera of an IMac take a photograph and insert it into a field in Filemaker Pro without user interaction. It would hopefully be used for staff attendance, and track who is changing records. I have no experience with applescript, but I think it might be the way to get the task done.
I created this piece of code using AppleScript Editor on OS X Lion 10.7.3 and I want to make it automatically repeat itself every 10 seconds. The code is supposed to reload the tab which the user is currently on every 10 seconds. I made the reload part but can't figure out how to make it reload every 10 seconds after extensive googling. Here is the code, can someone add the needed code it to make it reload the current page every 10 seconds and reply to me please.tell application "Safari" activateend tell tell application "System Events" tell process "Safari" keystroke "r" using {command down} end tellend tell
I've seen a similar request posted a couple times, but have had no luck on those threads finding the solution to my problem. I would like to write an AppleScript that would save an attachment (a .txt file) from Mail to my desktop. (Then in turn, I will make a rule in Mail that will run this script when certain conditions are met in the email). I'm sure it's probably very simple, but I have been playing around with the script editor for a few hours now and still can't figure it out. Needless to say, I am new to scripting.
This works except for the exit quick mask mode.Anyone else been able to do it? tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1" activate tell front document if (quick mask mode) then exit quick mask mode.end tellend tell
I am using a script that Jacques Rioux kindly helped me out with a couple days ago. I altered his script a little to complete a different task I needed to create a shortcut for. The script below first creates two folders (TIFF & JPEG) and then it sorts files with an extension .tif into the 'TIFF' folder and files with the extension .jpg into the folder named 'JPEG'. This works great but I would like the script to effect multiple folders. Can anyone help me add to the script so when you click it, a prompt will pop up allowing you to choose multiple folders to apply the script too? As of now it will only work on one folder at a time.
