Apr 14, 2012I downloaded a picture of the black Apple Linen texture online.I wanted to change the background of the finder. The picture is 1920x1080 so I figured the size would be fine I have the 21.5" iMac.But when I change to the picture it doesn't fill the page, but fills the top left of the page. The area of the picture doesn't change when I change the size of my Finder.I also downloaded a picture of size 128x128 The picture didn't stretch, it just took the size in the top left of my finder screen.

Apr 25, 2012The attachment uploader no longer works, either with Mac Mail, or on Google Chrome or Safari. When trying to upload, the grey area with the folder names moves all the way to the right, obscuring the white area with any files I could upload. When I clear the cache completely in Chrome, I can upload a file if it is on the desktop, but if I move to any other folder the same problem happens again, and I again have to clear the browser to have a chance at uploading something. I can still drag and drop files into the attachment window, but it's rather annoying that I can no longer upload things in the normal fashion.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Finder Search Shows Deleted "phantom" Files
Mar 23, 2012I had recently attempted to uninstall Native Instruments FM8, and in an effort to do so, ran searches through my system Library folder and my user Library folder to find anything related to the software and remove them. Found around 100 preset sound files related to FM8, sent them to the trash and emptied the trash (not securely). Then after removing every file as listed on NI's website, restarting my computer, and running another Finder search in my Library folder, the sound files I had deleted earlier appear in the Finder search! However, right-clicking the files and selecting Get Info shows no directory for the file, and the files are unable to be deleted or have permissions modified.
I have already used the Disk Utility to repair disk permissions, but these phantom files still remain in my Finder search !

Jun 29, 2012I logged into my macbook pro the other day and I noticed that my picture was blank (by blank I mean that silhouette icon that you have with new accounts). So i opened my addressbook and reset my picture. A few minutes later, I noticed that my profile picture was reset to blank again so I changed it again and waited. Right before my eyes, the picture changed back to the silhouette again.

Nov 4, 2010I was downloading some fonts from [URL] because I was going to use them in some software. Now it told me to just double click the file and hit "install" I did that and then this window came up and I hit the little + sign to add them. And then it started copying all my fonts I think? I stopped it and then it sowed a bunch of them that were not there? So I basically hit the install button it came up with coulombs in one window. The left coulomb had a list of my name my computer and all that. The middle coulomb said the three fonts I wanted to install.
So in the bottom on the middle coulomb there was a little plus sign + I hit it and it looked like it started copying all my fonts. So now I am stuck. Also once I had canceled the install/copy/who knows what. There was a message under I believe 4-6 fonts that were all in the middle coulomb that said some warning! About the font having multiple or something. Also is said I could use a command to resolve this or something? I don't want to damage my computers software!

Nov 4, 2009She just got an iPhone and I am trying to teach her to use the calender. I went onto her Mac to set up the sync (via Mobile Me) and realized that in her messing around on the computer she has somehow managed to erase iCal. And its not just that she moved the icon or anything simple like that but she has actually somehow deleted the app! I have no idea how she managed that, and neither does she. She is using OS X 10.5.8 I tried to reinstall it from the original install disc by using Pacifist (it is not an option to just install iCal for some reason from the start-up disc). But the version of iCal that it installs will not run. A message pops up saying that the version of iCal can not be run on this computer. (Or maybe it says ...on this operating system. I can't remember) I checked and the version that it tried to install is iCal 2.0.5 So I tried a system update and it said everything was up to date. how do I get iCal back? I don't want to have to reinstall everything.
