Mar 24, 2009I purchased a few Cds from iTunes around 6 months back. I then deleted a lot of music and somehow deleted these Cds from my Library. When I go to Check For Downloads under Store in the iTunes Menu it checks and then assumes all is there. How can I get the music back that I have purchased and download it back into iTunes on my MacBook. I am running iTunes 8.1

Nov 22, 2009Somehow iphoto was deleted from my computer. I was told that it is on my installation disc and I should reinstall the disc. My question is do I need to backup everything on my computer to a external hard drive or can I just install iphoto without the installation disc deleting anything from my computer. I have an IMac and I am running osx leopard.

Jun 23, 2012By mistake the Mac OS X Lion (10.7.4) file was deleted from the purchase section (Order Number: MGN5FKZ58X) of the Apple App Store. Because of this I am unable to update the OSX Lion software and now If I try to update/download the version from the Apple Store I will be charged again, because earlier on the OSX Lion page in the Apple App Store the option mentioned was either Install or Download, but since the deletion of the file from the purchase section the option shows $29.9. Why should I buy it again when I had already purchased the software. Is there a way to retrieve my previous purchase. I was given an option from the Apple App Consumer Support that downloading and paying for the software again is the only option.

Feb 1, 2012i have a hotmail email address i use, i have been using mac lion mail here the problem - i found loads of my emails missing when using hotmail webpage but in MacMail they are all there still.i found that in macmail settings "remove copy from server after retrieving a message" was selected(after one week). (now i have disabled this function) how can i send them back to the hotmail server email box?

Dec 26, 2010I want to reinstall OSX for the first time because I mainly want to have a clean system, to get rid of all the files that have not been deleted when I remove some applications. Basically I want all apps removed when reinstalled complete. I've read OSX reinstall its different then windows, but I want to make sure I can do this clean reinstall. I want to know if the other documents and files will remain on my hdd as I don't have an external disc to back up. Also the system/the internet does not run as fast as those in apple store, this may be because of little snitch, hard drive space, or others.

Sep 6, 2014Whenever starting up, a grey screen would appear and after the screen would shut off immediately. I decided to reinstall Mavericks (which worked). However, my iTunes is completely wiped clean. I have all my music files still on my computer but not in the iTunes. Is there a way to get them all back without having to drag and drop each file one by one? And is it possible to get all my old playlists back with the dates added/play counts etc.?

May 5, 2012I'm trying to install OS X Lion on my 27" iMac.I've erased the HD using Disc Tool in recovery.HD shows no errors.I've tried Internet Recovery (it loads up, but wont start the installation)I've tried creating a recovery usb on another similar iMac, and use it on this. Same error, only differance is it keeps "loading" when installing, but nothing happens. Same error in log. When I try to start the Reinstall I get an error in the installation log that goes something like this:
Install Mac OS X Lion[354:9c03] Couldn't find app store version, falling back to hardcoded Can not connect to /var/run/systemkeychaincheck.socket: No such file or directory Apple Care suggested: Trying another network (doesn't work).Install with the original Snow Leopard DVD first, then upgrade (can't do that, the DVD is lost and a DVD from another friend is not working) What can I do to get around this error?

Jun 12, 2012I've been having problems with speed on my Mac Pro for a while. Today, I tried to boot up and every time it booted, it just froze! I've used Diskawrrior and diask utility on it. Disk Utility says it's fine. Disk Warrior finds to files at the root that can't be accessed. I've run DiskWarrior about 5 times. Each time it tells me that it has fixed the problem but my Mac still freezes or won't boot up. I try Disk Warrior again and it finds the same problem.
I've tried to reinstall Lion but it tells me that the volume is used for Time Macine backups (it isn't) and won't lert me reinstall backups. I've asked Time Machine (which I get to by starting up using the option key) to show me the backups on my hard drive and it tells me that there aren't any. I try to reinstall Lion and It tells me again that my volume is being used for time machine backups. I'm stuck and have no idea what to do next.

Mar 27, 2012I ended up getting the grey screen that wouldn't do anything, so I turned off the Mac, then turned it back on again and entered the Lion Recovery module. I selected reinstall Mac OS X, then I was taken to a screen with 2 choices - Macintosh HD or Recovery HD. I believe the Recovery HD was locked, so i (mistakenly?) selected the Macintosh HD partition. Will this create a problem, or was it the proper partition for reinstalling the OS? Everything seems to be working fine, with no more kext errors, but I'd like to avoid a potential conflict if the OS isn't installed in the proper partition.

Nov 4, 2010I was downloading some fonts from [URL] because I was going to use them in some software. Now it told me to just double click the file and hit "install" I did that and then this window came up and I hit the little + sign to add them. And then it started copying all my fonts I think? I stopped it and then it sowed a bunch of them that were not there? So I basically hit the install button it came up with coulombs in one window. The left coulomb had a list of my name my computer and all that. The middle coulomb said the three fonts I wanted to install.
So in the bottom on the middle coulomb there was a little plus sign + I hit it and it looked like it started copying all my fonts. So now I am stuck. Also once I had canceled the install/copy/who knows what. There was a message under I believe 4-6 fonts that were all in the middle coulomb that said some warning! About the font having multiple or something. Also is said I could use a command to resolve this or something? I don't want to damage my computers software!

Nov 4, 2009She just got an iPhone and I am trying to teach her to use the calender. I went onto her Mac to set up the sync (via Mobile Me) and realized that in her messing around on the computer she has somehow managed to erase iCal. And its not just that she moved the icon or anything simple like that but she has actually somehow deleted the app! I have no idea how she managed that, and neither does she. She is using OS X 10.5.8 I tried to reinstall it from the original install disc by using Pacifist (it is not an option to just install iCal for some reason from the start-up disc). But the version of iCal that it installs will not run. A message pops up saying that the version of iCal can not be run on this computer. (Or maybe it says ...on this operating system. I can't remember) I checked and the version that it tried to install is iCal 2.0.5 So I tried a system update and it said everything was up to date. how do I get iCal back? I don't want to have to reinstall everything.
