I am using Mac OS 10.4.11 and I do not plan to upgrade my OS software at this time. I am not using any wireless devices such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The only "wireless device" I use is my PowerMac G4 using Airport and whatever wireless signal from a modem is handy for internet connection. I am using Apple's Mail application and wish to continue using it just as it is with my existing email addresses. I currently have a MobileMe account which I'm not worried about losing when it's phased out as long as my Mail application and email continues to function. My question is do, I have to sign up with, or make the move to, iCloud in order for my Mail application and my email to continue working in the near future? I do not mind losing MobileMe and I do not mind not having iCloud if my email will work without it. I do not wish to purchase iCloud service and I hope I do not have to pay to keep my email working. I do have iDisk at the moment but I prefer to let it go rather than to continue to pay for a remote upload/download storage service, although I wouldn't mind keeping it if I don't have to pay for it.

I am getting the error: CANNOT GET MAIL.the user name or password for icloud is incorrect on both of my ipads, my iphone and my Macbook air. The username and password are the same that I have been using for years.
I am a former .me user that was migrated to the cloud. Unitl now, no issues with email. I cann actually sign on to mobile me but still cannot get to the email.

For the past two hours I can't send or recieve emails, cannot load icloud mail from the internet, my iphone can send or recieve from icloud.
The page says that all iCloud services are working.
Yesterday I upgraded to Lion and added iCloud. I can see my email fine on my iPhone, but not at all on my MacBook Pro. I've been searching for A-B-C directions on how to use Lion and iCloud, but haven't found them yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust migrated from mobileme to icloud and haven't been able to receive email on my Mail app since. Running an iMac with OS 10.7.3. I can send email okay and access incoming email through icloud on my browser. The error in the Mail applications says "The server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” refused to allow a connection on port 143." Another thread suggested checking the "Use SSL" box in the advanced tab; I tried that and it didn't fix the problem. I notice that the Incoming Mail Server setting was changed during the migration, it now says "p99-imap.mail.me.com". The field is greyed out and can't be edited so I guess thats what Apple wants.

I was wondering whether there's a way of setting up iCloud with my work email address in order to sync my emails on both machines? I have to refer to my emails quite a lot in my job and it will be rather frustrating to have some one one machine and the rest on the other. Oue email server is POP only. Since upgrading to os x v 10.7.3 and moving from mobileme to iCloud as instructed, I am unable to send emails from an Imac connected to an older imac operating on osx 10.4 via wi-fi. Emails form this older box are succesful.
On my newer imac with osxv10.7.3, The email stays in outbox and sent folders with the spinner spinning next to the sent folder.It displays mail activity and outgoing messages...but does not change its staus.I am unable still here 1 hour later waiting for it to go.I have tried instructions from websiteConnection doctor - all green lights
