Imported mail not showing up. I have a few mbox files that, though show successful and imported, don't show up in my inbox. Stopping and starting Mail.app has no effect. Tried this on two different Lion machines.

I have started using âmailâ for the first time, and have successfully imported 4 mailboxes into the program. I have two issues which I would be grateful for help with. I have browsed the forums used the âexpress laneâ through Apple, but to no avail:Â There is no âtrashâ can. I have deleted several messages, but I donât know where they have gone. When I check preferences, the tickbox to send items to the âtrashâ can is ticked for each mailbox.Â
My work mailbox is successfully incorporated into âmailâ, inclusive of mailbox subfolders, which are showing in the mailbox pane also. Lovely so far. My problem is that this has not happened for my imported âhotmailâ mailbox; my subfolders are not listed for this account.Â

I am migrating my mail and archive folders from Mail to iCloud. I moved 20+ folders and over 8k messages with no problem by dragging and dropping the folder from 'On my mac' section to 'iCloud' section in Mail. The last two folders were the largest with over 1.5k in each folder. Over 1200 of the messages in each went in to iCloud without a hitch. Then I got this error:Â
The IMAP command âAPPENDâ (to [mail box name]) failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters.Â
There are 149 messages left in one folder and 203 in another folder. Try as I might, it will not work. I tried Rebuild mailbox option in menu and exported to Mail and mbox format and then re-importing. Still does not work.Â

Yesterday my computer wouldn't start, and I tried everything for many hours, but no solution.. Finally I decided to start over. I booted from install disc and recreated my system from Timemachine.. So i chose the latest full backup option, and after 7 hours of recreating, my mac is back.. Thank you TimeMachine.
Everything works like a charm..
Almost.
My mail, launched and prompted me to import my mailboxes. So I tried but some of the mailboxes won't import.. Mail Crashes when I try.
Any one out there who knows how to retrieve these mail??
It is 2 INBOX.mbox and 1 Sent.mbox.

I had a notes section under mailboxes in mail. Within this notes section I had several named mailboxes that I used to store various emails. They are now missing from my mac when I converted to Maverick. I still have them on my iPhone.Â

Recently had to replace my hard drive on my iMac which had OS X Mavericks. I accidently ignored the Recovery option when I first restarted my Mac not understanding it would completely restore everything as it was. However, im taking the opportunity now to rebuild my Mac manually, learning a lot and saving the space that many of my unneccessary files took up. I've rebuilt my itunes Library including restoring playlists, also my iPhoto library and Album organization. While I am able to replenish all of my mail messages (over 3000) through re-connecting the settings for mail, what I lose is all of my mailboxes and sub-boxes I had set up, as well as those hundreds of messages I had flagged and tagged in various colours. I would like direction on how I can restore my mail settings, messages and mailbox structure from my Time Machine back-ups. Really all I need to know are which files I need to look for from that earlier date and how to safely replace them into my current system.

The new Mail with Lion doesn't display received attachments any more. I just got an important attachment and can't find it. The paperclip icon is visible in the list. In Mail Prefs the Desktop is selected for attachments, but it's not there. It doesn't show up in the body of the email message as it used to in 10.6. Why is that? Is there a folder where Mail attachments go?

I'm tired of typing the first or second letter in the "to" address line and it comes up with an address I don't want anymore. It's not in my address/contact book. So where is that hidden file?

I have a new iMac and iPhone 4.0. All software is up to date and I have installed the free beta version of Mountain Lion which let me use iChat on my computer. Safari intermittently stops working. Mail won't access my mailboxes if Safari is running. Now iTunes won't find my iPhone when it's locked and in a dock charging. If I restart I can do 1 thing at a time, but I can't have Safari running and use Mail. I've emptied my cache, checked my passwords. It's none of that. By process of elimination, there is some kind of conflict between using multiple applications on the Internet at the same time. Sometimes after I've gone to several Internet sites Safari will stop working properly even though all other applications have been "quit".

I'm using mail on various machines to access an Exchange server account. It generally works with no problems, but on my work MacPro (and only on this computer not the iMac at home, various laptops, iPad, iPhone etc) mail tells me there is an unread message. However, I can't find this message and it's not there when I use a webmail interface to access the same account. No problem, I figured I could just right click on the mailbox and 'mark all messages as read', but this doesn't work! I like to keep a clear inbox with no unread messages

I have just upgraded my MacBookPro from 10.6.8 to 10.7.4 (Lion). When I try to open Word documents I get the message: You cannot open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer Supported. So what to do? And when I try to open a password protected (Word) document, the message is: Import error. The Word document is password protected and cannot be imported. So what to do?Â

The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

I'm about to order Snow Leopard, but I saw that little disclaimer as I was filling out my shipping address. I've had packages delivered from Amazon to my mailbox before, from UPS, USPS, and FedEx Ground. Should I go ahead and have Snow Leopard shipped to my box?

I have switched email for the first time in 15 years, to a new provider. I finally got MacMail configured and got that working with the new servers, etc. Weird thing is that on my MacBook Pro, on the dock where the mail icon is, it says I have 4 unread emails, which is the same thing it says in my Inbox. However, no matter what I've tried, I can't find those unread e-mails, and therefore can't open them. I tried clearing out old emails, rebuilding mail, etc. to no avail. I can and have got other emails and had no trouble opening them. My outgoing mail is fine. I'm using Safari if that makes any difference.

Okay, I set up Mail 3.5 to use IMAP to get messages from my gmail account. . The downloading went on for several minutes but there are only a few messages in my Inbox. Where are the rest? I don't want them on my computer. I want to access them and get rid of them.
At the bottom of the left hand panel it says USER NAME 905 which I take to mean 905 messages have arrived and are stored somewhere.

I had my Uni mail account as well as my hotmail account working through Mac OS X mail (Tiger 10.4.4) and managed to accidentally rebuild my mailbox. This resulted in the inbox appearing empty. Since then, I have not been able to get the inbox to show me my old mail. I may be able to get new mail (not yet verified) but I sure as hell would like the other mail there as well. Additionally the rebuild was done accidentally and NOT because the mailbox was ridiculously full. Anyone know how to "reverse" the rebuild procedure? Or at least to get the mail back?

You know, the boxes you could select so that iTunes would skip the track? Because right now I'm editing the songs to be one second long, I'd rather just uncheck the box.
