OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Missing Plug-in In Mail?
Apr 5, 2012Our work email recently migrated over to Google apps. I still I access it via Mail like I always have. There's an email that I get every week from a coworker with a .png attachment. All of a sudden, I can't see the attachment and it says "missing plug-in". When I log-in through Google Apps, it's there. Any idea what's going on?

Feb 11, 2006My work site requires me to download an internet plug-in (Safari comes up with the message - "Safari cannot find internet plug-in"). After following companies directions and installing the plug-in I still get the same message when I try to visit the site.

Apr 12, 2012Yesterday, Safari began crashing every 45 minutes. I get a message that says Safari quit unexpectedly because of a plug-in called .MasterofDefense.tmp. I used finder to search my computer, and I cannot find this file. PlugIn Path: /Users/<myname>/Library/Application Support/.MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Identifier: .MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Version: ??? (???) The file is NOT in that location mentioned in the crash log. According to web searches, MasterofDefense is some game, but I have never installed any games on my machine.

May 29, 2012A couple of days ago I began getting a message in incoming Mail messages that have a graphic file attached -- the message says "Missing Plug In" and the graphic file won't be displayed (if it was sent as part of the body of the email message). The "Missing Plug In" message appears where the graphc would normally be displayed.
If I quit Mail and restart, the same emails are now displaying the embedded graphic files -- so apparently the Plug In is not missing. It appears to just stop working at random times. Restarting Mail solves the problem temporarily, then it begins happening again. I know nothing about Mail Plug Ins -- is there anything I can do to correct this Missing Plug In issue?

Mar 19, 2008I know that firefox has foxtorrent, and opera has a bittorrent downloader built-in, but I'm not really interested in switching browsers. I have looked everywhere but to no avail for a plugin that integrates directly into safari that can handle torrents.

Feb 26, 2009I was very excited like everyone to install new Safari 4 and the excitement sustained for a while. Ubiquitously, it is visually delightful meeting Apple Standards. However, I lost lot of plugins that I had for earlier Safari version. Plugins like: DivX player, Real player are gone after I installed the new version. It is not recognizing by itself if there are missing plugins and neither I see an option where I can install by myself.

If you fill in the contact form and send a message, it will say if the mail doesn't get though, use the email in the readme but i can't find the readme. I have read it's quite difficult to contact the main guy which is a shame as saft is a great little addition to safari.

Nov 13, 2010I switched to a MacBook Pro 3 months ago from using WXP with Outlook 2003.
I need to be able to hold my outgoing mail rather then sending it immediately. In Outlook I could set it to stay in the outbox until I was ready to send it.
I'd also like to have the "capitalize the first word of each sentence" feature that Word edit would do in Outlook.
I am presuming neither of these features are in iMail so my question is: Do I need to buy Outlook for Mac or Office for Mac to get these 2 features?

May 28, 2012I sent a request the other day for help regarding my downloading Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 and losing the ability to play my games( they were bookmarked from the web) because of missing plug- ins. I mentioned that I know very little about this computer. I did get a reply saying that he needed more information about my computer which I sent and I have not heard anything back. I probably did not send the message correctly therefore I am sending the info again and I hope I don't screw it up this time.

OS X :: How To Find And Install Safari/Chrome Plug-ins
Nov 26, 2010So I'm brand new to Macs. I'm trying to relearn everything I know in Windows, and it's a bit overwhelming! Anyway I'm stumped by something that seems like it should be rather simple. I'm trying to listen to XM Radio Online. Safari tells me that the required plugin is not installed, but it doesn't give me any option to install it! So I installed Chrome thinking it would be smarter than Safari. Chrome shows me the little plugin icon, but it doesn't let me install the plugin either. How the heck am I supposed to install plugins in these browsers?

I got suggestions of updating Flash, I got suggestions of reinstalling Windows Media Player.
So far I haven't done anything. When in doubt, call someone who cares. I hope I came to the right place. I almost logged into "Just Answer," until I realized I had been there before about a year ago. Don't want to go back.

Oct 19, 2010Something strange seems to be happening with my Mobile Me email and I think it's related to iOS email conversations.When I reply to an email from my iPhone 4, and get a reply the email conversation gets grouped together - all fine.
However when I look at my email in Mail on my MacBook Pro I only ever see the first email I received - none of the replies. In my Sent folder my replies are there.When I look at my email through web mail they are there - it is only in the Mail client they aren't displaying.Has anyone else seen this or know of a fix? It seems to be related to grouping of my emails in iOS from what I can see.

Mar 19, 2009Okay, I set up Mail 3.5 to use IMAP to get messages from my gmail account. . The downloading went on for several minutes but there are only a few messages in my Inbox. Where are the rest? I don't want them on my computer. I want to access them and get rid of them.
At the bottom of the left hand panel it says USER NAME 905 which I take to mean 905 messages have arrived and are stored somewhere.

Nov 4, 2009If I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.

May 4, 2012I have iTunes 10.6.1 running on MacOS 10.7.3 Because I was running out of harddrive space on my iMac (500GB), I had to move something off to my TimeCapsule. So I dragged my iTunes folder into the Data folder in the Time Capsule. (Time Capsule would not let me create any folders in the root directory so I had to use Data folder even though I thought that Data folder was reserved for the Time Machine.) My problem is that all my music files have an ! (meaning that iTunes can't locate the original file).
Current settings: iTunes Media folder location: /Volumes/Data/iTunes/iTunes Mediaunchecked "keep iTunes Media folder organized" I also tried moving the music folder with its many sub-folders to different parts of the Time Capsule. So now I can click on each song and tell the iTunes where to locate it. It will ask me whether I want to locate all the rest, to which I always answer "yes". But then it would tell me after half a minute that it can't locate any of the files.

OS X :: Trying To Find Missing Gigs On Hard Drive
Sep 14, 2009I have a MacBook Pro and when I click on the harddrive and Get Info, it tells me I have used 100 gigs of 111 available. But when I right click on Macintosh HD in Finder and Select All of the folders and hit Get Info, it tells me they add up to only 95gigs. Where is the other 5 gigs hiding? My trash is empty.
